Chapter 1304: Unexpected Situation
Chapter 1304: Unexpected Situation
Everyone was dressed very formally today, including fresh graduates and young professionals with three to five years of experience who were changing jobs. The girls were all in high heels, standing straight with excellent poise.
The boys had shiny leather shoes, with hair slicked back, all looking vibrant with infinite prospects for the future.
But inevitably, they were also nervous, as today half of them would be eliminated, even though they all came prepared.
"Is everyone here?" asked a female assistant, silently counting with her pen as she took attendance, "Please, follow me to the interview hall!"
With that, she turned and started walking, her slim figure in professional attire caught everyone’s attention.
Thirty young people followed her quietly.
Many were coming to The Dalton Group for the first time, glancing around at the decor and layout as they walked.
The place was spacious and bright, resplendent in gold and jade, with a crystal chandelier overhead that was undoubtedly of great value, each crystal impossibly clear.
Cecilia Dunn was in the middle of the line, following everyone in taking the elevator to the second floor.
After a ten-meter corridor, they lined up and headed towards the interview hall.
On the other end of the corridor, two male employees of the company walked by, quietly discussing something —
"I heard the executive office is looking to hire another assistant, but this time, will they hire a guy or a girl?"
"Traditionally, they always hire guys."
"Our Mr. Trevino is single, so if they hire a girl, maybe there could be a spark of romance with the boss."
"Do you think the boss has such low standards? Falling for a little assistant? Cinderella stories only happen in fairy tales."
"Who can say for sure about fate?"
The two female interviewees who entered the interview hall last heard these words clearly, and suddenly felt a thrill, imagining the possibility of becoming a phoenix.
Cecilia was already inside the interview hall, glancing around like everyone else to familiarize herself with the environment and dispel any fear.
The hall was spacious and tidy, with few furnishings, so despite the number of people inside, it didn’t feel crowded at all.
A long table stood in front of the window, with four bottles of mineral water, four documents, and pens on top.
Behind the long table were four imposing custom leather chairs, indicating there would be four chief examiners.
They must be the most authoritative figures in the company, right? Would they be too harsh?
"Alright, let’s wait here for a bit." The leading assistant checked her phone, smiling gently at everyone, "The examiners are still in a meeting, they’ll be down soon, about five minutes. So you don’t need to be too nervous, just adjust your mindset and face it normally."
"Okay." Everyone nodded, watching her leave.
After the leading assistant left, since nobody was familiar with anyone, they didn’t interact much at first.
But as time passed, the two girls who came in last couldn’t hold back any longer.
One of them said, "Will there be one less eliminated today? I heard earlier that the executive office is hiring an assistant, but I’m not sure if it’s a guy or a girl."
"The executive office? That should be an easy job, right?"
"Executive assistants earn well, but they must also be very capable, certainly able to handle things independently."
Cecilia just listened, not interested in any of it.
Suddenly, she felt a warmth below, her body slightly stiffening, stunned for a few seconds.
Oh no! Was it that time of the month? It felt very much like it!
She calculated the time in her mind... holding her breath because it seemed, perhaps, it really was this time!
