Treasure Hunting System: The Ocean Conquerer

Chapter 454 - 234 Ruins Excavation_3

Chapter 454 - 234 Ruins Excavation_3

Alka wasn’t lying.

To him, the blue treasure represented here was less important than excavating the ruins and uncovering the information recorded on them.

What he needed was the information these ruins provided, which could unlock more Treasure Information about that orange and golden glow.

The blue light dots were just a side benefit.

After all, this whole island was almost entirely ruins—places with blue light dots might just contain even more important and comprehensive information.

Hearing this, Bai Shi thought for a moment, then nodded. It did seem to make sense.

"Alright then, I won’t bother you guys anymore. But remember what I said—never speak our language around the ruins.

After wandering around this island, you’ve all seen what might happen."

This was the main problem.

He then added, "Also, make sure you’re back in town before dark. I really don’t want to hear news of a newly-made friend dying."

Listening to Bai Shi’s slightly concerned tone, Alka smiled and nodded, waving to him.

"Alright, don’t worry."

Bai Shi turned and rejoined his own team.

Not long after, Bai Shi’s voice could be heard again from afar.

"Be careful. Some magic beasts just like to wander. The noise from here might attract them."

Then, Bai Shi and his team disappeared into the nearby woods.

When he turned around,

he found that the spot where they had just scattered dirt had been completely cleared, and Pororo, Jason, and the others were silently digging in the pit.

As if nothing that happened a moment ago had ever occurred—just an illusion.

But when Alka turned his head ever so slightly toward Chadite and the others,

it was clear what had happened was no hallucination.

At this moment, Chadite was staring at him expressionlessly.

Not far away, Julia sat by the pit, while Lucilia and Matilda were dusting sand off her head.

was heading toward Chadite, about to clean off the mud and sand from her head.

Seeing Chadite watching him, Alka gave an awkward smile and chuckled.

But unlike Jason and the others, he didn’t just climb into the pit and resume digging as if nothing happened.

Instead, he walked over to Chadite.

As Alka walked over in a very "heroic" fashion, the others kept digging, but each of them cocked their head slightly, with side glances in his direction.

Alka came over, picked off the few puppet girls who had climbed onto Chadite’s shoulder, and set them down.

"You guys get back to work. Leave this to me."

He then looked at Chadite, a comb appearing in his hand.

Chadite regarded Alka with a blank expression.

As for her heart... it was like waves roiling on the sea.

Alka moved behind Chadite, gently lifted her short silver hair, took up the comb, and began to carefully clean it.

"Don’t be upset, I’ll help you get it out."

The diggers in the pit had all kinds of expressions as they watched.

"Oh~" Simon suddenly understood. So that was it—something had felt off before.

"Nice!" Jason looked impressed. Even though he already knew, he still admired it.

"Mm." Juanlu nodded—lesson learned.

"Tsk~" Pororo looked utterly scornful. Couldn’t understand; women only slow down your hands.

Faced with these four different reactions, Alka pretended not to notice, quietly enjoying the smooth silver threads in his hands.

And watching Chadite, who was trying so hard to look calm, from her slightly reddened ears to the fair nape of her neck beading with sweat.

The female members behind watched this scene too.

Matilda, cleaning dirt out of Julia’s hair, kept peeking her head up, curiosity all over her face.

Puppet No. 2 tried to interfere, but Zero and One held her by both arms, dragging her toward the dirt pit as she struggled, even covering her mouth.

Julia watched, then gave her left shoulder a little shake.

Sitting on her left shoulder, still cleaning her hair, Lucilia felt it and looked down.

"Did I pull your hair?"

"...No."

She silently raised a hand and pressed it to her forehead.

...

As everyone fully focused on digging up the ruins,

the excavation’s pace picked up again.

With their strong physiques and such handy tools, it didn’t take long before part of the ruins below started to emerge.

Soon, dug-up earth was piled high all around. The pit grew larger and the teams’ digging sites joined up, revealing a huge area.

Their shovels had long since been swapped for an assortment of more delicate tools, like real archaeologists afraid of damaging these things.

Lucilia had already begun studying and interpreting the newly exposed sections.

The three puppet girls following her each busied themselves with their own tools, performing fine cleaning to aid her observations.

"Three magic beasts are approaching—not very strong. Who wants to go handle them?" Suddenly, Chadite, who was emitting a silver ripple, spoke up.

Standing idle atop the pit, Pororo immediately dashed off in the direction Chadite indicated.

This careful work obviously wasn’t for him; he was only good at rough stuff anyway.

When he returned, dragging the corpses of three beasts, the others had already uncovered most of the ruins’ outer layer.

All that remained was for Lucilia to do a full reading now.

But as more of the ruins came into view, Chadite’s silver ripples picked up even more things.

She stood atop the ruins, crouched, focusing intently on sensing the entirety of the structure below.

The silver ripples were able to reach deeper down into the ground now.

Even though these ruins were ancient, the materials and the spells once carved upon them, combined with the high magic power here, constantly interfered with her probing.

With more probing, a look of confusion gradually spread over her features.

Alka, standing beside her, asked, "What’s wrong? You look like something’s not right."

Chadite looked up and nodded.
