Treasure Hunting System: The Ocean Conquerer

Chapter 424 - 224: Broken Island Residents_3

Chapter 424 - 224: Broken Island Residents_3

He had once delved into the Dream Realm of someone with Second Stage strength and inquired about some relevant questions. Moreover, the island’s environment itself was very dangerous. It was also best to keep quiet when outside and not speak rashly.

Apart from these issues, Alka also deduced from some people’s Dream Bubbles that there were individuals among them who had sailed the seas. These seafarers were mostly the elites of the entire settlement, and their current strength was almost all at the Second Stage or higher.

However, Alka did not obtain any information related to the Treasure, as no one’s Dream Bubbles were currently related to it.

As for those huge Dream Bubbles, Alka did not venture to explore them. He had never encountered Dream Bubbles from anyone who had reached the Third Stage or even higher, and he had no idea how much control they had over their own Dream Bubbles. What if they could discover me? So, to be cautious, Alka did not enter.

Instead, he asked the countless people around if they harbored any hostility towards outsiders. The final conclusion was that they did not.

This island often received outsiders, so their presence wasn’t considered strange; some islanders even followed outsiders when they left. Moreover, many things on the island were acquired through trade with these outsiders. Almost periodically, outsiders would trade with them, and sometimes, individuals never seen before would explore the island. The inhabitants didn’t consider themselves the masters of the island, only people living there. Strangers were not unusual to them.

Alka asked at least a dozen different people about this. Only after receiving consistent answers did he relax slightly.

At least the islanders were not xenophobic and were quite willing to trade or communicate with unfamiliar outsiders. This would make his future actions much easier.

The main reason for his caution was this group’s strength; just looking at the Dream Bubbles made it clear how powerful they were. Alka certainly did not want to have any conflicts with them.

Then, the surrounding Dream Bubbles began to decrease one by one, indicating that people were starting to wake up. Meanwhile, some new Dream Bubbles appeared. Alka checked the time and began to return.

When he returned, he again saw those foolish dream creatures around everyone’s Dream Bubbles. After swiftly eliminating these creatures and converting the spoils into Dream Energy, Alka finally returned to his own Dream Bubble.

Being too lively isn’t necessarily a good thing.

After resting for a while in his Dream Bubble, Alka woke up. When he opened his eyes in his room, it was still night outside, with no sign of dawn.

He glanced at the time next to him; the clocks they had brought from the Homeland Sea were now completely meaningless. Instead, the Hourglasses precisely calculated the time. Alka had a habit of setting one of the Hourglasses before he went to sleep.

He had rested for about six hours, with at least four of those hours spent exploring the Dream Realm. By this calculation, the night had already lasted for about nine to ten hours.

When Alka went to the deck, he found Juanlu already busy in the kitchen. Seeing Alka awake, Juanlu greeted him with a smile, "Good morning... if it is morning, that is," he said, shrugging and remarking wryly.

Frankly, even after just the first day, the cycle of day and night here felt very unfamiliar to them. Perhaps they would no longer be able to estimate time by the weather as before; temporal confusion was certain.

Thinking about this, Alka couldn’t help but recall the "Land of Dreams." He often felt its time records were somewhat chaotic, with entries vaguely stating periods like ’a few days’ or ’perhaps a few months,’ and never any precise record of time. The only unit of time recorded with accuracy was the year. Now it seemed it wasn’t that they didn’t want to record time, but that they genuinely didn’t know how to calculate it. If there were predictable patterns, such problems wouldn’t arise. Looks like we’d better prepare for constantly chaotic days and nights.

Once Juanlu had prepared breakfast and lightly rung the bell, everyone began to wake up gradually. Although the cycles of night and day had changed, their biological clocks hadn’t been so easily disrupted.

"Who knows how long this night will last," Chadite said helplessly, eating breakfast and looking out at the deep night. Judging by appearances, the night wouldn’t be retreating anytime soon.

"By the way, Alka, how is the Dream World here? Are there any changes?" Lucilia suddenly asked. She recalled Alka mentioning that upon reaching the Endless Sea, the Dream World might change and not be as barren as before.

Hearing this, Alka nodded. "It has become much more lively, with far more Dream Bubbles and creatures in the Dream Realm now."

Since they were on the topic, Alka took the opportunity to share his findings from the Dream World the previous night. "There should be a settlement of Intelligent Life on this island, with many strong individuals within it. Luckily, they don’t seem to be xenophobic."

Everyone knew Alka could explore others’ Dream Bubbles in the Dream Realm to obtain information.

"Really? What do they look like?" Jason asked curiously, having just woken up.

After Alka talked briefly with everyone, Chadite asked, "Should we go ashore then?"

Alka shook his head. "Don’t rush to go ashore yet. The island is very dangerous at night. We’ll go when it’s daytime; it’ll be safer."

Alka had acquired all this information from the Dream Bubbles of those Intelligent Lifeforms the previous night. However, no one had specified exactly what dangers the night environment held.

Hearing Alka’s explanation, everyone nodded. Since that was the case, they had no choice but to continue waiting on the ship.

"So, how long will this night last? And how long has it lasted already?" Jason suddenly turned and asked Simon.

Hearing this, Simon took out a spiral-shaped sphere, which seemed to be some kind of tool for calculating time.

"The night has now lasted for twelve hours."

"Has half a day passed already? It looks like night and day aren’t split equally," Julia remarked, looking out at the night.

On the dark canvas of night, countless stars, the galaxy, and those starry spheres hung suspended, appearing so close it felt as if they were right next to the universe itself.
