Chapter 987 - 985: Hey, I’m Really Not Their Dad! (Part 2)
The two little ones simultaneously called out to the young master, "Daddy..."Their voices were clean with a soft, syrupy sweetness that made one’s heart soften and body tingle.
Yet the young master was inexplicably panicked at this moment, turning his head to meet the surprised yet somewhat envious expression of the girl behind him, "They’re your kids... You’re so young... Really doesn’t look like it..."
"Hey, I’m really not their dad!" the young master quickly defended himself.
Certainly, along the way earlier, quite a few people misunderstood him as the real father of these two little ones. At the time, he didn’t feel any objection, and was even a bit smug and proud.
But now, he was eager to clarify his relationship with these two little ones.
"I’m their little uncle! We look pretty similar, don’t we?"
The young master said, deliberately leaning back a bit, putting his face next to the children’s faces, smiling as he asked the girl sitting with her waist supported, "What do you think, don’t we look quite alike?"
The girl blinked and forced a slight smile, "Um... yes, quite similar..."
Beibei probably wanted to thank his little uncle for the special favor, so with hands sticky from syrup, he touched Little Treasure’s face, giving him a smacking kiss, and sweetly called out once more.
"Daddy..."
For some reason, the young master shivered at the address, instinctively glancing at the girl before glaring at Beibei, quietly muttering, "Brat, I’m your little uncle!"
Secretly lamenting, weren’t these two little brats usually quite clever? Why couldn’t they differentiate between uncle and daddy at critical moments?
The girl, looking at the picture-perfect scene in front of her, had a flash of sorrow pass through her once bright eyes.
The young master exchanged a few looks with Beibei, the little friend, before remembering that the girl didn’t seem to have fallen lightly.
"Hey, you seem pretty badly hurt, not going to call an ambulance or let your friend come pick you up?"
The young master intuitively felt that the girl wasn’t very old, at most eighteen or nineteen.
The girl raised her eyes with a strange look, probably unused to his suddenly friendly tone.
"No worries, I can rest a bit and be fine..." Meanwhile, a hint of wariness flashed in her eyes.
The young master didn’t notice her change in attitude, continuing to urge her with concern, "You’re not going to be okay just by resting a bit like this."
The young master was usually indifferent to strangers, especially unfamiliar girls.
But with this girl before him, perhaps because she was visually pleasing and suited his tastes, and looking quite young, he uncharacteristically let his guard down. Additionally, her lack of attempting to elicit sympathy because of her injury sparked further goodwill.
The girl flashed him a smile, "Thanks for your concern, sir, but I’m really okay, just need a rest!"
The young master’s mind blanked out for a moment, stubbornly stating, "My name is Ji Huan!"
The girl glanced at him, smiled but remained silent.
"Daddy... Daddy..." The two troublemakers behind suddenly started fussing again.
The little ones seemed aware that this title could frustrate their little uncle, or perhaps they couldn’t express anything else temporarily, thus could only continue calling "Daddy, Daddy" incessantly.
"Beibei, Guoguo! I’m the little uncle!" The young master sternly scolded the little ones quietly.
The two little ones giggled, then stuck lollipops into their mouths, looking triumphantly with laughing black eyes at the young master’s mixture of tears and laughter.
The young master had no choice but to abandon trying to teach these two little troublemakers, turning around with his phone, saying to the girl, "My house is nearby, I know a doctor also close by, shall I have him come and check you?"
The girl’s cries of pain when she fell and her now pale complexion clearly showed she hadn’t fallen lightly, but even with the young master’s persistence, and the rare disclosure of his true name to a stranger, the girl steadfastly declined him.
"Sir, really there’s no need! I’ll rest here for a bit, and my friend will come by soon."
The young master holding the phone had never felt this embarrassed and faceless before. Clearly, he was well-intentioned! Why is this girl so ungrateful? When had Mr. Ji ever done such foolish acts of offering kindness and being rebuffed before?
"Sir, go play with your kids, no need to worry about me, I’ll just wait for my friend here!" The girl’s clean voice sounded in the young master’s ear.
The young master helplessly scratched his head, once again insisting, "Hey, I’m really not their daddy!"
Who would’ve thought that right after he said this, the two darlings behind muffledly called out with lollipops in their mouths, "Daddy... Daddy..."
Their voices were muddled, yet unmistakably recognizable.
Were these two little brats here to wreck the scene or what?!
The young master futilely glanced at the little troublemakers, wanting to say something more to the girl, but his thoughts were interrupted by a loud, rough call.
"Little Bamboo! What are you doing here?"
The young master looked up to see a tall, thin boy skating over to them swiftly, the young master shifted his gaze back to the girl beside him.
Little Bamboo?
She was called Little Bamboo?
Immediately, the girl confirmed his thought.
The girl waved at the boy smilingly, "Luo Yuan, I just fell hard, was thinking of calling you!"
As the girl spoke, the boy named Luo Yuan had already skated over, a towering shadow hurriedly came over her, and as the tall, thin person reached her, he lifted his foot back neatly, stopping accurately in front of the girl.
"Did you fall badly? Come on, I’ll take you to the hospital!"
The boy seemed to completely ignore Ji Huan and the two little ones, extending his hand to support her arm, intending to pull her up with effort.
For some unknown reason, the young master suddenly felt displeased, placing a hand over the boy’s hand.
"Young man, your classmate’s falls pretty bad, are you sure being this rough won’t cause further injury?"
The boy slightly hesitated, finally looking at Little Treasure, meeting Little Treasure’s displeased eyes, with quite some puzzlement looking towards the girl, "Who is he?"
The girl bashfully explained, "Oh, this gentleman was the one who brought me over after I fell."
The boy seemed enlightened, his expression became sincere, pointing to Little Treasure with gratitude, "Thank you for helping my classmate!"
Little Treasure didn’t have a good impression of him and no goodwill either, but for the sake of the girl’s health, kindly reminded the foolish boy before him, "Do you have a vehicle?"
The boy looked embarrassed, "Yes..."
Little Treasure interrupted him, "Then quickly bring the vehicle over, help her into it."
"But it’s a bicycle..." The boy’s face turned beet red, sheepishly adding.
