Treasure Hunt: Tycoon's Priceless Runaway Wife

Chapter 986 - 984: Hey, I’m Really Not Their Dad!

Chapter 986 - 984: Hey, I’m Really Not Their Dad!

The young master pushed the two little treasures along the shaded sidewalk. Although their biological father, Ji Dabao, said that the kids needed some sun occasionally, as it was good for calcium transformation and absorption, the young master was always dismissive. His beloved nephew and niece had skin so white and tender that it was pleasant to touch and delightful to look at. If they accidentally tanned to the color of charcoal, who would compensate him for his two little cuties?

As they walked, passersby noticed the tall, handsome young man pushing two not only beautiful but also adorable little treasures, and many pointed and murmured. A few young women, overwhelmed with maternal love, couldn’t resist approaching to start a conversation, their eyes fixated on the two little ones.

"Oh, these two are fraternal twins, right? So cute, so adorable, so Q!"

The young master, having been the center of attention countless times throughout his life, was used to being the star of the show. Yet, being overshadowed by the two little treasures, he felt no dissatisfaction. Instead, he proudly asked, "Yes, they’re fraternal twins. How do they look? Like me, right?"

The stylish woman glanced up at him, her face immediately blushing, probably flustered by his good looks.

"They do resemble you. Isn’t it usually the son looks like the mom and the daughter like the dad? But both son and daughter look like you!"

The young master felt even more smug, deliberately ignoring the fact that he was just the uncle, not their dad!

"Of course, they even have my last name!"

Beibei Guoguo were the perfect blend of Dabao and Nuonuo, and since Dabao and Little Treasure resembled each other quite a bit, without Dabao around, at first glance, the two little ones did look quite similar to the young master.

Especially their shining black eyes and the mischievous glint within them, they had an 80-90% resemblance.

So, on the short ten-minute walk from the Ji Family to the park, the young master had successfully led people to mistakenly believe these adorable little ones were his son and daughter.

The young master didn’t find anything wrong with such a misunderstanding. On the contrary, he felt rather proud and laughed all the way. In high spirits, he sat down on a bench in the park and took from his backpack the lollipops he originally intended to use to charm the little rascals a couple of days later as a reward for the two little ancestors.

The moment the little ones saw their uncle take out that box of colorful lollipops, their eyes turned shifty, waving their four small hands in the air and babbling something.

The young master’s eyes curved into a smile, and though delighted inside, he mischievously held the lollipops up high, teasing the little ancestors, "Call me Uncle. Whoever calls gets to eat."

The two little ones exchanged glances, clucked and murmured to each other, leaving the young master holding the lollipops hanging.

The young master was a bit displeased!

After all, wasn’t he the one holding the power of life and death here? Why did he have a feeling of being let down and toyed with by these two little ancestors?

"Hey..."

Feeling somewhat defeated, the young master leaned down, trying to tease the two babbling little ones. Suddenly, he heard a woman’s scream from behind, "Hey! Hey! Hey! You over there, move aside! Move aside..."

The young master hadn’t even had time to look back. Instinctively, he pulled the stroller behind himself, using his tall body to shield the two little treasures.

"Thud!" A loud noise erupted not far from him. With one arm around the stroller protecting Baobao, he looked down carefully at the baby peering out curiously and confirmed that the two kids weren’t frightened before lifting his gaze to the direction of the noise.

He saw not a meter away a woman lying on the ground awkwardly, spread-eagled. She had rollers on her feet, evidently a beginner who had lost control and, lacking technique, fell.

"Ow, that really hurt!" The woman cursed, not too loudly, bringing the young master’s attention back to her. He patted Beibei Guoguo, "Baby, stay put."

After saying that, he stood up and walked to the woman’s side, bending over to extend a hand.

"Are you okay? Did you get hurt?" Though usually proud, the young master couldn’t just stand by idly.

The woman twisted her face in pain, holding her waist and let out a sharp "hiss" as she tried to support herself.

"Can you stand?" The young master’s hand still extended in front of her, but inside he was a bit anxious.

He had those two little treasures behind him, after all!

The woman, still with a pained expression, dropped her eyes. Her short hair covered most of her face, one hand supporting her waist, and the other trying to prop herself up, "I think... I can’t..."

The young master frowned slightly, subtly sizing up the woman’s figure. Her legs were long and thin, she was quite tall but shouldn’t be too heavy!

After some estimation, the young master directly reached over, lifted her up by the waist, and in a few strides returned to the bench, carefully setting her down.

"Thank you..." Her voice still carried a trace of pain. The young master didn’t pay her attention, turning to check on the two little treasures in the stroller. Seeing the two were busy pulling at each other’s faces and hair, they didn’t take his brief abandonment to heart.

"Beibei Guoguo, do you still want the lollipop?" The thoroughly ignored young master felt hurt and had to resort to his trump card—the lollipops, waving them in front of the two little ones.

"Eh?!" The two little ones exclaimed in unison, then, with sparkling big eyes, stared at the young master.

"Oh..." Another cry of pain came from behind, reminding Little Treasure of the invalid still seated on the bench. Hastily, he stuffed a lollipop into each of Beibei Guoguo’s hands, then turned to look at the woman on the bench, one hand on the stroller.

This glance left the young master stunned.

He saw a woman with short, ear-length black hair, her face palm-sized, features excessively refined, especially a pair of amber-colored apricot eyes, beautiful and unforgettable. Probably genuinely in pain, her eyes were shrouded in a thin mist of tears; thus, when she looked at Little Treasure, she appeared extremely pitiful.

The young master, who only ever showed tender affection to his mummy, sister, and now Guoguo as well, found his heart fluttering under the gaze of those pitiful big eyes.

An unfamiliar and strange feeling instantly spread, urgently prompting him to lean in and ask, "Where did you get hurt? I’ll call the hospital and summon an ambulance for you!"

The pretty girl, holding her waist, scrunched up her face, beads of sweat forming on her forehead, clearly in severe pain.

Yet she shook her head, declining Little Treasure’s offer.

"No need... thank you..."

Little Treasure wanted to say something more but felt his arm caught by two little hands. He turned to the two little rascals, "What’s up, baby?"

Beibei and Guoguo each held a lollipop, moisture glinting on their lips, their eyes gleaming bright, staring at the young master as they opened their mouths, then in unison called out to the young master.

"Daddy..."
