Chapter 1159: Intervention
Chapter 1159: Intervention
Void Asura—some have only heard of them, while others have participated in their extermination… If the dimensional rift is likened to a newly discovered continent, then to the Transcendent, the Void Abyss Demon are akin to the native tribes of that land.
Void Asura would be the tribal chiefs among these natives.
A powerful Void Asura could easily tear apart a Transcendent. Only veteran Transcendents have the means to resist them—but that also depends on the Void Asura’s individual strength.
The dimensional rift is fair in its own way. It grants all kinds of gifts to newcoming Transcendents, let alone to the void demons that originated within it.
In front of the Transcendents appeared the memory projection extracted by Solomon regarding the suspected traces of a Void Asura.
Each of these Transcendents is a transcendent figure in their own field and possesses sharp insight. So it didn’t take long for them to notice the trembling Void Ancestral Entity within Solomon’s recollection.
“This ancestral one must be newly born. Although far stronger than regular void demons, it hasn’t yet reached the level of a typical Void Ancestral Entity. So it may not be a Void Asura. A particularly strong Void Ancestral Entity could also induce such fear.”
The voice came from a shadowy figure.
But its body wasn’t pure darkness. Swirling nebula-like vortexes floated across it… It was a veteran Transcendent, one who had once taken part in the early war to exterminate the Void Asura.
He gave his opinion.“It’s been a long time since that war. The Void Asura were basically wiped out back then. If any still remain, they should be hiding deep in the rift… Besides, the Lost Garden is our domain. If a Void Asura were to appear or be born, the Throne Holders would surely sense it.”
(Note: There was a term "Lost Paradise" in previous chapters, but I'm too lazy to confirm whether that's the same thing referred to as "Lost Garden." I'll stick with this one.)
This viewpoint quickly gained agreement from other veteran Transcendents. As for those who had never directly fought the Void Asura, they wisely refrained from joining the discussion.
They knew what they knew, and didn’t pretend otherwise. These were proud people, transcendent in their fields, not the type to speak out just to seek attention or embarrass themselves.
So, the discussion on Void Asura ended there. Transcendents were merely intrigued—they were, after all, stuck in the dimensional rift, unable to descend into the timelines freely, many of them practically molding in their hermitages.
It was hard for even a Throne Holder to gather all Transcendents—especially Archimedes, who belonged to the science faction, and thus had limited appeal to the mystic and arcane types.
The reason why so many showed up this time wasn’t just because of Noah, the only one capable of piloting the Ark, going missing—but more importantly: many Transcendents were simply bored to death.
Before departure, many preparations had to be made—but clearly, the Throne had already handled that in advance. For the moldy Transcendents, there were only two things left to do: smile and fight.
---
The seductive man in a bright red robe—Longyang—suddenly arrived. Yu Danqiang couldn’t help but look twice—if Musashi hadn’t told him he was a man, Yu Danqiang might have been ensnared. Then again, most Transcendents looked incredibly attractive.
Longyang—that was the name of the charming red-robed man.
He seemed to come specifically to talk to Zangjian.
What shocked Yu Danqiang was that cold and aloof Zangjian, who usually kept her distance from everyone, actually stood and bowed to Lord Longyang.
“Lord Longyang, what business do you have with Zangjian?” she asked respectfully.
“I’ve told you so many times, Zangjian, we are both beyond the mundane—we are equals,” Lord Longyang said, reaching out to lift her up.
But she remained firm. “My lord, you are of the same generation as the second ancestor of the Ou family. Zangjian must maintain the etiquette of a junior.”
Yu Danqiang overheard bits and pieces… It seemed that many Transcendents hailed from different timelines—but some came from the same one. For example, Zangjian and Lord Longyang?
Lord Longyang didn’t press further. Instead, he asked, “Zangjian, you are the guardian of Eternal Night Palace, overseeing the gates to the Lost Garden and our first staging area. Have you noticed any unfamiliar faces recently?”
“Please be more specific.”
He thought for a moment. “Not a newcomer we guided, maybe someone who arrived by mistake or on their own due to their strength. Likely from a relatively modern time—around the year 2000 AD. I know Taibai, and he said this person was about a thousand years younger than him.”
Zangjian replied after a pause, “I don’t recall anyone like that. Aside from guided newcomers, the only one to intrude upon Eternal Night Palace recently arrived by accident—he picked up Master Dong’s token and was transported in unexpectedly.”
Lord Longyang casually glanced at the person behind her—Yu Danqiang. “Picked up Dong Zhuo’s token? What a lucky guy… If you haven’t seen the person I mentioned, never mind. He might still be wandering in the rift and hasn’t found the Lost Garden yet.”
“Should I report to you if I encounter him?”
“No need. If fate wills it, we’ll meet again. For now, let’s focus on the mission. The ark’s helmsman has vanished, and that’s a problem for most of us.”
Zangjian nodded and returned to her seated meditation.
Meanwhile, Yu Danqiang felt a strange force stirring among the crowd, flowing through the surroundings… an odd sensation, as if his body suddenly grew heavier—then instantly lighter again.
A flash of white light burst before his eyes… When it faded, he no longer saw the strange dimness of the dimensional rift, but instead—light.
“Try to stay near me or Zangjian. The time we can interfere here is limited. We won’t be able to stay for more than half an hour,” said Musashi, giving Yu Danqiang a hard slap on the back.
“Why?” he asked, confused.
“The longer we stay, the worse it gets for us. After the window closes, we’ll weaken.” Musashi drew his katana slowly. “Get ready.”
Yu Danqiang shivered.
He looked up.
Above, layer upon layer of cloud-like ground floated in a realm of radiance… Light flooded every inch of this place, and now, an endless number of angels were descending from that light.
“Exiles of the world… why have you intruded upon my Lord’s Kingdom?”
Bathed in divine golden light, holding a scepter, a six-winged angel appeared—wearing a hemp robe, barefoot, with a radiant halo. The holy aura seemed to instantly wash away all evil thoughts.
“That was fast… Archangel Gabriel,” someone muttered.
On the Transcendent side, facing Gabriel, was a young man clad in silver-white armor, with a red cape and golden hair.
---
Yu Danqiang didn’t understand how to gauge the power levels among Transcendents—but at this point, you could describe it in tiers.
Like the mountain-of-meat Dong Zhuo, the charming Lord Longyang, and even Zangjian herself—all stood firmly at the top tier.
As for Daji, Master Musashi, and the bearded man called Oda, they stood a bit further back—perhaps part of the second tier?
As for the golden-haired young man conversing with the six-winged, hemp-robed angel, no one knew how powerful he was… They only knew that the surrounding Transcendents referred to him as Chalid… the Lionheart.
“Exiles of the world, leave my Lord’s heaven at once.”
Facing the advancing Transcendents, the Archangel Gabriel, commander of God’s legions, remained calm—neither fearful nor angry.
“Gabriel, we came for Noah. Hand him over and we’ll leave quietly—no need for words,” said Lionheart, raising a hand and sending his red cape fluttering.
“Noah is a criminal in Heaven and must stand trial here,” Gabriel responded coolly.
Lionheart laughed. “Then there’s nothing to talk about. If you won’t hand him over—we’ll take him. I’ve long wanted to test myself against you!”
Gabriel waved his staff, releasing a beam of holy light. Lionheart swung his arm down in a powerful arc!
Powerful force and holy light clashed, the shockwave howling—but the Transcendents in the rear remained utterly unmoved, as if touched only by a breeze.
“Gabriel, do you think you and those puppet angels behind you can stop us?” Lionheart sneered.
Boom—!
Right after Lionheart spoke, a terrifying blaze erupted at the back of the Transcendent ranks—dozens of fiery pillars shot into the sky, disrupting part of the formation.
Then, a streak of violet-white light burst forth from the flames—it was an unusual angel with violet fire coursing over his body and wings made of that same flame.
“Flame of God… Uriel?!”
The angel called Uriel had a beautiful face. With a slow wave of his hand, the violet fire pillars twisted and further scattered the Transcendents’ ranks.
“Gabriel, I’ve told you many times—there’s no need to reason with these exiled sinners. If they dare to invade Heaven, let them face the holy flame’s judgment!”
Heaven—as known by mortals—was home to countless powerful and famed angels.
Gabriel, Flame of God—these were only part of Heaven’s forces. Beyond the clouds lay even greater angels, and perhaps even the Son of God.
Lionheart gave a cold snort and roared, “Everyone, break through! The top priority is to find Noah!”
At his command, over a dozen figures from the first tier dashed toward Heaven’s cloud-laden realm!
Gabriel snorted and raised his staff again, but he couldn’t stop all of them… Only three figures remained; the rest cut through the angelic ranks like blades through rotted wood.
As the Transcendents surged into Heaven, they left bloody paths in their wake. Countless low-ranking angels were slain in an instant.
These angels dissolved into light upon death and returned to Heaven, where under divine radiance, new angels continuously emerged.
Beneath Heaven’s light, the vast sky instantly turned into a massive battlefield!
At the same time, Lionheart charged straight at Gabriel…
---
“Damn… These angels are way harder to fight than void demons!”
Dodging left and right, Yu Danqiang was being chased and beaten by two low-tier angels. The celestial Heaven above seemed unreachable—he could barely handle these low-level ones.
“So, how do you like this new map?”
Musashi remained by Yu Danqiang’s side, only casually swinging his katana whenever Danqiang was truly overwhelmed—each swing effortlessly taking down an angel.
But Musashi didn’t participate in the main battle at all. He just followed Yu Danqiang around lazily… Danqiang was sure that Master Musashi was strong enough to be in the first tier, but the man remained nonchalant.
“Master Musashi, why do these angels never stop coming?”
“Low-tier angels are combat puppets, not true angels. As long as Heaven’s master remains, they can be endlessly created,” Musashi explained, rubbing his chin. “Don’t be fooled by our individual strength—in a long fight, we’re the ones at a disadvantage. Throne Archimedes had to personally authorize this intervention, but he likely won’t fight directly. That means we’ll have to handle Heaven’s master ourselves.”
“C-Can we win?” Danqiang gulped.
Musashi shrugged. “What do you think? Heaven’s master is stronger than several Throne Holders combined~”
“Then how do we fight?” Danqiang grimaced.
“That’s why we’ve been preparing…” Musashi narrowed his eyes. “The time is almost right. We’ve captured plenty of those creatures…”
In an instant, Yu Danqiang recalled the endless beings in the dimensional rift… the Void Abyss Demons!
A strange, terrifying beastly cry echoed through the air…
---
In the fragrant and sweet lands of Heaven, Noah, who had remained behind, looked up.
“My companions have come for me… Father.”
He didn’t turn around. Behind him, the being still sat cross-legged calmly.
Noah lowered his head. “Will you let me leave? Father… unless you act personally, I doubt you can stop my friends. Some of them are… quite violent.”
The being slowly opened his eyes and replied softly, “Heaven… has its guardians. As long as your Throne Holders don’t act, neither will I.”
Noah’s expression turned grave.
Because in this land of light and sanctity, a black mist was beginning to form, condensing slowly. A voice followed:
“Oh? God… Looks like there’s an entrance fee. When my Boss collects next time, I won’t leave this one out…”
