Chapter 888: The Evil Product

Chapter 888: The Evil Product

Seeing the other half of Takizawa appear here, Uncle Jin hurriedly hid the test tube in his hand inside his clothes in a panic.

He knew exactly what Takizawa was... a bloodthirsty, violent monster. The way it looked at all humans was the same—as if looking at food.

Takizawa, in his leech form, suddenly bounced off the wall, landing on the ground, and began to stand upright. Once upright, he started to transform, reverting to his original human form—Takizawa.

Takizawa, now naked, walked toward Uncle Jin with a blank expression, leaving Uncle Jin uncertain of his intentions.

"Mr. Takizawa, what brings you here? Weren't you enjoying your meal?" Uncle Jin asked calmly.

Takizawa sneered, "I recall your name is Jin Wucheng, right? Are you truly unaware or just pretending not to know?"

Uncle Jin responded steadily, "It's my honor that Mr. Takizawa remembers my name. However... I genuinely don't know what you're referring to. Did something happen outside? I’ve just been following Mr. Tu's orders, staying here and handling some matters for him."

"Is that so?" Takizawa smiled slightly. "Then what are you hiding? I seem to have noticed you hurriedly putting something away just now."

"You must be mistaken," Uncle Jin shook his head. "What could I possibly be hiding?"

"I’m still hungry," Takizawa took a few steps forward and sneered, "I don't have time to play games with you. Tell me, what exactly is Tu Shenyi plotting!"The powerful vampire that suddenly appeared in the dungeon maze was likely the work of Cythacyl.

At this moment, Takizawa was unaware that Viscount Fernandez had nearly been wiped out by a certain uninvolved boss, so his priority was to figure out Tu Shenyi’s intentions and then leave with the true blood.

"Mr. Takizawa, I really don't..." Uncle Jin lowered his head, assuming a subservient posture. However, in the next moment, he quickly pulled a silver handgun from behind his waist.

Bang, bang, bang—!

Several shots were fired quickly, and the bullets penetrated Takizawa's chest, creating several bloody holes.

But the impact of the bullets didn’t make Takizawa retreat even a step. He just looked down at the wounds on his chest, touched the blood oozing out, and slowly raised his head. "You've been following Tu Shenyi for a long time. Don’t you know by now that these things... hmm?"

Takizawa's brows furrowed instantly as his chest wounds began emitting a thick smoke. It was as if the bullets were burning inside him, scorching his body.

"Silver?"

Uncle Jin sneered, "Pure silver bullets. I know most of you fear this stuff. Actually, I’ve read Tu Shenyi’s research. Vampires possess a special enzyme that can be inhibited by pure silver, suppressing your powers. These bullets aren’t just silver; they’re hollow and filled with silver nitrate. The bullets explode inside your body, and the silver nitrate enters your bloodstream... enjoy the pain!"

Takizawa's face twisted in agony as he clutched his chest, bending over in pain.

Uncle Jin watched coldly.

Suddenly, Takizawa's arm shot out like lightning—his arm transformed into a tentacle that pierced through Uncle Jin’s shoulder.

A scream escaped Uncle Jin’s mouth as he stared in disbelief at Takizawa, now filled with terror. "Y-you’re not... not injured?"

Takizawa stood up as if nothing had happened. "Those bullets? I was bluffing... idiot!"

The wounds on Takizawa’s chest began to heal rapidly, and his flesh pushed the bullets out of his body. The bullets fell to the ground with a clatter.

"Yes, we do fear silver," Takizawa said with an amused smile. "But unfortunately for you, that only works on weaker vampires, those of the ninth generation or later. For centuries, we’ve faced demon hunters and even the Church. Did you really think we wouldn’t develop a way to resist silver? The world evolves, and so do we."

Uncle Jin’s expression changed dramatically.

A tentacle shot out from Takizawa’s lower back, piercing Uncle Jin’s thigh, eliciting another scream.

"Now, will you tell me what Tu Shenyi is planning?" Takizawa asked, a hint of sadism in his voice.

Sweating profusely from the pain, Uncle Jin gritted his teeth and remained silent.

Takizawa sneered. "Jin Wucheng, you’ve always desired immortality, haven’t you? You crave power, don't you? Your eyes can’t lie to me. Your obsession is all too clear. Unfortunately for you, Tu Shenyi never intended to turn you into a vampire. But you, you kept telling yourself that one day you’d get your chance, and you followed him for ten, twenty years, begging."

Uncle Jin clenched his fists.

"He won’t turn you, but I can." Takizawa’s voice turned seductive, and his gaze grew mesmerizing. "I can grant your wish... if you submit to me and tell me what you're hiding."

Uncle Jin's expression became vacant.

As a master of manipulation, Takizawa’s mental prowess was overwhelming for any ordinary human. Even though Uncle Jin was once a skilled gambler with a stronger will than most, he was still only human.

His eyes glazed over as he mechanically retrieved the test tube containing the pale green liquid and handed it to Takizawa.

A tentacle from Takizawa’s back reached out and wrapped around the test tube, bringing it to him. "Is this the true blood?" Takizawa asked, inspecting it.

In a monotone voice, Uncle Jin replied, "By mixing all the components of the 'Worry-Free' series in specific proportions and adding a few special ingredients, you can create 'True Blood.' I found this in Tu Shenyi’s notes."

Takizawa snorted, "That bastard... so all he needed was 'Worry-Free.' No wonder he made us bring it this time... Wait, why didn’t he use it twenty years ago?"

"Because True Blood isn’t a substitute for pure blood. It's not a replacement for blood; it's a type of evolution agent..." Uncle Jin droned on. "Taking it gives a vampire a 50% chance of evolving and a 50% chance of dying instantly..."

Takizawa’s face darkened... if this "True Blood" was derived from the deadly 'Worry-Free' variant, 'River of Forgetfulness,' then there really was a 50% chance of death...

But there was also a 50% chance of evolution.

Takizawa’s mind raced, and suddenly he asked, "Does this thing work on humans?"

Uncle Jin's gaze suddenly showed some struggle at this moment, but under Takizawa's watchful eyes, it quickly became hollow again. He said slowly, "I don't know, but I want to try. Tu Shenyi never intended to bite me, and she never would... This is my last chance. I must try. I can't let my decades of efforts be in vain."

Takizawa didn't comment on the difference between him and her, but suddenly smiled, "Is the formula for this compound in the instrument behind you?"

"The data is in there. I didn’t have time to destroy it," Uncle Jin nodded dully. "I secretly stole the Worry-Free series while she was out, thinking I’d make one for myself in secret and take it..."

Takizawa quickly walked to the instrument’s control panel, pulled up the interface, and memorized the ratios, as well as some auxiliary materials. He then smiled, "Since you want to try, I’ll let you try."

He brought the True Blood in front of Uncle Jin, and a tentacle pried open Uncle Jin's mouth, pouring the True Blood into it.

Takizawa retracted all the tentacles that had pierced Uncle Jin, causing him to collapse to the ground. At first, he didn’t move, but moments later, his body began to convulse violently, and he let out agonized screams.

Takizawa muttered, "The 'Naihe' I gave you was fake. The ingredients in real True Blood are naturally different... So it’s not effective, just highly poisonous."

He shook his head and planned to take all the remaining Worry-Free series with him. Since he had the formula, he could study it slowly back at the Takizawa household.

However, just then, Uncle Jin suddenly stood up!

He spread his arms, and his skin began to peel off in strips, his agonized screams resembling someone in a sea of fire... Suddenly, Uncle Jin’s entire body exploded.

But it didn’t turn into countless pieces of flesh. Instead, it transformed into a monster-like being beyond description!

He—or perhaps it—now appeared like a massive tumor made of countless giant cells. His entire body had disappeared, or rather, had transformed into this grotesque, blood-red tumor.

Only a face remained, emerging from within the grotesque mass!

"What is this creature...?" Takizawa murmured.

Even though his vampiric leech form was hideous, it seemed insignificant compared to Uncle Jin’s mutation into this enormous tumor.

Takizawa frowned and let one of his tentacles cautiously approach—it wasn’t moving, and the human face protruding from the tumor had its eyes closed.

But just as the tentacle was about to touch the giant tumor, Takizawa suddenly felt a sense of unease, as if something was approaching. He quickly tried to pull back his tentacle, but at that instant, the eyes on Uncle Jin’s face snapped open!

The huge tumor suddenly expanded like magic clay, turning into a massive "sheet" that enveloped Takizawa!

Slit! Slit!! Pop—!

Takizawa's tentacles frantically pierced through the tumor, as if he was struggling inside. Eventually, his arm broke through and extended outward.

However, it didn’t take long before the arm drooped down, lifeless.

Only the massive tumor remained, pulsing rhythmically, as if it was feeding...

...

Zhong Luoyue was still in a daze. After suddenly discovering she had become a vampire, her first thought wasn’t the vampire’s strength, but the fact that she would now have to live off blood.

Her mind was still human, even though her body was beginning to transform—like a person suddenly becoming someone else, without feeling any joy.

She lowered her head, aimlessly following Luo Qiu and Elizabeth.

Learning she had become non-human made her feel incredibly uneasy; she didn’t want to be alone.

They had arrived at the place where Aamon had died.

Thanks to Luo Qiu’s help, Aamon left nothing behind when he died—only a shallow imprint remained on the ground.

Elizabeth sat beside the mark for a long time, saying nothing. She seemed to be holding back her tears, but they were too heavy, and her eyelids couldn’t bear the weight.

Tears are the heaviest thing—once met with gravity, they fall.

Luo Qiu took out a packet of tissues and handed it to Elizabeth—since giving his handkerchief to Grandpa Song, he no longer had one.

With the maid absent, there was no one to prepare a new one for him, so tissues would have to do for now.

Elizabeth glanced at it but didn’t take it, shaking her head and quickly wiping her eyes with her sleeve before standing up.

She looked at Luo Qiu, as if making a promise, "From now on, I won’t cry anymore. I’ll never cry again. I’ll live happily... forever!"

Like a snow lion cub that had just emerged from the snowdrift and was looking at the swirling snowstorm for the first time. Though full of fear toward the harsh environment, it still struggled to climb out of the snowpile.

Timid, yet exuding a faint confidence in life.

Luo Qiu smiled faintly, "I’m glad to see you so beautiful."

Elizabeth lowered her head shyly, twisting the hem of her clothes. But this remark seemed to trigger something in Zhong Luoyue, who suddenly shouted nervously, "How can you flirt at a time like this? Think about what I’m supposed to do now... I... I’ve become... something fake, haven’t I?"

She hadn’t yet recovered from her panic. Trembling all over, she hugged herself and squatted down, "Why... did it have to be like this? Do I really have to bite people now? Turn into that kind of monster... like Lady Eve? I don’t want to... I don’t want to..."

"You won’t," Luo Qiu said calmly. "As far as I know, Lady Eve aged because she drank 'Ninety-Seven'. Generally, once you become a vampire, your appearance won’t change. In short, you’ve gained eternal youth."

"But even so..." Zhong Luoyue looked up, her voice weakening, "I... I don’t know what to do..."

Her tone was no longer the voice of a powerful businesswoman—she remembered how Luo Qiu had dealt with Viscount Fernandez.

That powerful and terrifying figure had been defeated with just a few words from Luo Qiu.

Golden words? Words as law?

Zhong Luoyue felt that her own weakness limited her imagination of what true power could be.
