Chapter 549 - 549: Get My Wife Back
Chapter 549 - 549: Get My Wife Back
What's more, Mason Nightshade is truly a charming person. To be deeply loved by him like this, she can't imagine any woman refusing him.No, she also can't imagine Mason letting the woman he likes walk away.
This inevitably makes her suspect there's something fishy going on.
"She schemed against me," Mason explained softly, then turned to Gustavo Yates and said, "Go get her some warm water. Have you eaten? Tonight, I'll pick a place for us to eat together. You haven't gone home to see grandpa for a long time, do you want to go back and visit him?"
The latter part was directed at Victoria Blake.
Upon hearing "grandpa," a hint of discomfort flashed across Victoria's face, and she replied pointedly, "Don't change the subject, I'm asking about you and your wife. What sort of scheme?"
Mason said, "She turned my newly acquired company into a shell company. The company management took my money and ran, and the hotels and restaurants under the name underwent various inspections from the health department."
"Pfft... Hahaha..." Victoria couldn't hold back and laughed heartily.
She wiped the tears from her laughter from the corners of her eyes and slapped the table twice, "Mason Nightshade, I never thought you'd have a day where you'd be schemed against. My sister-in-law did an amazing job!"
Mason: "..."
"Victoria, under such circumstances, shouldn't you be comforting me first?"
"Call me 'sis,'" Victoria teased Mason by tugging his ear. This brat keeps getting taller, and she must seize the opportunity to teach him a lesson, "You're standing just fine here, what could happen? Though, come to think of it, you're pretty miserable—lost your wife, company dealt a heavy blow."
Mason: "..." She just realized? The idiot.
Why does it feel like she's not sympathizing but rather gloating?
This isn't Victoria's fault; she rarely sees Mason falter. Since childhood, this guy has always been excellent. Whatever he does, he succeeds and becomes the best, making her feel no pride as an older sister.
Finally having a chance to mock him, she absolutely has to laugh her heart out this time.
"Returning to the main topic."
Victoria shoved the painting on the table into Mason's arms, "I really like Aurelia. If you dare lose such a good and beautiful wife, I'll call and harass you every day."
"Isn't your mom not fond of me? I'll move back and annoy her every day, driving you nuts."
Mason rubbed his forehead, he'd forgotten how unreasonable Victoria, the artist, always was. Watching her quietly sit in front of a canvas would give the impression she's a serene artist, but interact with her in real life, and you'd find her more like a rebellious rogue.
"What's this?" Mason wanted to open the painting but was stopped by Victoria.
"This painting is for your wife. Don't unwrap it now; let your wife do it."
Mason cast a suspicious glance at her.
Victoria lifted her chin, "What's your look supposed to mean? Think I'd trick you?"
"It's not impossible," Mason said nonchalantly.
Victoria was speechless.
"It's possible to trick you, but I wouldn't trick your wife." She yawned and took a few sips of the water Gustavo poured, "Mind if I lie down on your sofa for a bit? I just got off a long flight and came straight to you without resting."
Victoria laid down on the sofa.
Mason looked at her, "Let's go home and eat tonight."
"No way!" Victoria frowned and paused; her lips seemed to curve into a self-mocking smile, "I'm afraid if the old man sees me, he'll get so angry it'll trigger his heart condition."
