Chapter 1850: The Grand Finale
Chapter 1850: The Grand Finale
"But..."
Justin Battleson hesitated just as he began to speak, and Charlotte had already reached out, placing her finger on Justin Battleson’s lips, sealing his words.
"This is the child’s choice. What I need to do is welcome the child." Charlotte looked seriously at Justin Battleson.
"Besides, didn’t Henry Hudson say before? If my body hadn’t recovered, I wouldn’t be able to get pregnant again."
Seeing the sincerity in Charlotte’s eyes, Justin Battleson reached out and embraced her.
"You’ve worked hard, Charlotte."
"I find joy in it."
...
After October.
Charlotte’s child was born. Amidst the eager anticipation of everyone around, it was indeed a daughter.
This made the male-dominated Thompson Family instantly exalt this little princess, even naming her Lucy directly, showing how precious she was to them.
When Lucy Battleson was born, Annie Anne naturally brought Arthur Hudson along. He looked at the little baby in the incubator and slowly reached out his hand.
"Lucy, Lucy."
...
Seventeen years later.
"Grace, please help me cover for this. Don’t tell anyone."
The stylishly dressed girl stood among the bustling airport crowd, talking on the phone while observing her surroundings.
Even with a wide black-framed glasses on her face, her pretty features couldn’t be hidden.
"Lucy, I knew it. There’s no way you’d come to the airport out of pure conscience to pick me up. You must have slipped out mixing with the family bodyguards, right?"
"Grace, I know you’re the best. I really don’t want to stay at home, it’s too boring."
The girl coquettishly spoke to the person on the other end of the phone, "Besides, while you were abroad attending the film festival, I’ve been keeping an eye on Chad’s side for you. There’s absolutely no other girls around him."
"I bet he wouldn’t dare!" Grace’s voice came through the phone.
"So, my dear sister, do me this favor and keep my whereabouts a secret from the family, will you?"
"Alright, I got it."
Facing her younger sister’s plea, Grace responded, "But if anything happens, you must contact me, or you can find big brother, just don’t do what you did last time, okay?"
"Yay! You’re the best, big sis!"
Lucy Battleson was so excited she yelled out loud, unintentionally drawing attention from those around her.
Feeling a bit embarrassed, Lucy Battleson smiled, just about to turn around, only to see several men in black standing behind her.
"Miss Lucy, please come back with us," the leading man spoke in a stiff tone.
Lucy Battleson swallowed hard, smiling awkwardly as she waved her hand.
"Shouldn’t you be picking up my big sister?"
The bodyguards said nothing.
"Look! An airplane!"
Seeing this, Lucy Battleson randomly pointed behind her, then turned around decisively and dashed away.
She hurriedly ran into the crowd, accidentally colliding into someone’s embrace.
The scent of cedar filled her nose, making Lucy Battleson feel incredibly familiar.
However, Lucy Battleson had no time to ponder these feelings. Seeing the bodyguards rushing towards her, she made up her mind and impulsively kissed the person in front of her.
The young boy’s lips were cool and refreshing, with a faint fragrance.
Noticing the men in black breeze past her, Lucy Battleson finally let out a sigh of relief, then realized the scene she was in, hastily pushing the person before her away.
"Urgent situation, no offense intended, please forgive me!"
As Lucy Battleson babbled, intending to leave, someone looped her wrist, pulling her back into that warm embrace.
This made Lucy Battleson’s heart skip a beat.
Uh-oh, in a moment of heat, she impulsively did something so reckless, could she have attracted unwanted attention?
Just as Lucy Battleson was lost in thought, a familiar voice came from above her.
"I just returned to the country, and you give me such a big surprise, Lucy?"
Lucy Battleson looked up, utterly shocked.
"Arthur Hudson?!"
