Chapter 1834: I Regret It
Chapter 1834: I Regret It
Campbell Prickly took a sip of the wine in his glass, slightly raising his eyebrows.
Then, he leaned back, resting on the sofa, pulled out a cigarette from his pocket, and lit it.
His expression was somewhat lazy, yet his eyes revealed indifference.
Campbell Prickly was never a gentle and refined person.
Only in front of the cameras and Annie Anne would he put on a facade.
But now, there was no need for that anymore.
The smoke from his fingertips blurred Campbell Prickly’s vision, also obscuring the complexity in his gaze when he looked at Annie Anne.
Campbell Prickly never imagined he would be ensnared by Annie Anne.
If it’s something he wants, he will do whatever it takes to get it.
But the Annie Anne before him was different now.
"What a foolish woman," Campbell Prickly sighed, his voice somewhat sarcastic.
"Since you like it so much, why let go?"
Campbell Prickly could easily guess the reason behind Annie Anne’s current state.
Only that person could make her care so much.
Jealousy?
Perhaps a little.
But what Campbell Prickly felt more was amusement.
Laughable that two people so clearly in love were causing each other such pain.
"I thought you called me over to vent a little, but it seems like you’ve found a free maid to clean up the mess after you’ve drunk too much," Campbell Prickly looked at the somewhat bewildered Annie Anne, wrinkling his brow in disdain.
"I’m just helping you expand your acting range. Who knows, a director might cast you as a maid in the future, and you’d have the experience!"
Annie Anne retorted without hesitation.
"Annie, I’m not a good person," Campbell Prickly flicked the ash from his cigarette.
"What does that have to do with me?"
But Annie Anne’s attitude was indifferent.
She didn’t know what she was thinking about, her gaze somewhat dazed.
Seeing this, Campbell Prickly stood up from the sofa, walked over to Annie Anne, and leaned in close to her.
"Why are you so confident that I won’t do anything to you?"
Campbell Prickly’s gaze was quite dangerous.
However, his words, full of threat, made Annie Anne burst into laughter.
Annie Anne raised her wine glass, placing it between herself and Campbell Prickly.
"A hunter isn’t interested in prey that’s already given up struggling."
Annie Anne curled her lips into a smile, lazily lifting her eyes to show Campbell Prickly the confidence in her gaze.
Suddenly, Campbell Prickly realized that the Annie Anne before him was precisely cut from Vincent’s cloth.
Just then, the door to the private room was slammed open.
"Campbell Prickly! What are you doing?"
Charlotte Thompson quickly stepped forward with a vigilant look, shielding Annie Anne behind her, her gaze sternly assessing Campbell Prickly.
"Since you’re here, then stay with her."
However, Campbell Prickly nonchalantly stubbed out his cigarette, stretched a bit lazily, downed the wine on the table, and turned to leave.
This series of actions by Campbell Prickly left Charlotte Thompson with a complex expression.
But now, she was more concerned about Annie Anne’s condition.
"Annie, what are you doing?"
Charlotte Thompson took the wine glass from Annie Anne’s grasp and reached out to touch her cheek.
"Why have you drunk so much? And why are you with Campbell Prickly..."
But before Charlotte Thompson could finish, Annie Anne softly interrupted her:
"Charlotte, I regret it."
