Chapter 1831: Before She Forgot Everything
Chapter 1831: Before She Forgot Everything
Seeing the children crowded at the door, Charlotte Thompson quickly waved her hand.
At her signal, the children didn’t hesitate to push open the door and raced to her side, even squeezing Justin Battleson to one side in their eagerness.
"Mommy, are you hurt? We were so worried about you."
"Mommy, Mommy, we finally rescued you."
"Mommy..."
The emotions that had been suppressed for so long erupted once they confirmed Charlotte was safe and sound.
All the children reached out to hug her tightly, their voices choked with sobs, and even Cyrus Thompson was no exception.
Charlotte didn’t speak, only comforted the children with her actions, but her eyes trembled slightly.
During Vincent’s abduction, Charlotte constantly pondered.
If it were true, as Vincent claimed, that he injected her with a drug to make her forget the past, forget the children, forget everything she once knew.
What would she become then?
But such terrifying thoughts vanished from Charlotte’s mind in an instant.
Because she trusted Justin.
As Charlotte’s mind was flooded with thoughts, the children in her arms continued to chatter ceaselessly.
"Mommy, you were unconscious for so long, we were worried sick."
"Mommy, are you thirsty? Hungry? Do you want anything to eat?"
"Mommy, why aren’t you saying anything? Is it because we’re being too noisy, disturbing your rest?"
Charlotte collected her thoughts and seriously answered each of the children’s questions, realizing that she had truly been unconscious for two days.
However, the children didn’t want to disturb the newly awakened Charlotte too much, so they quieted down and stayed quietly by her side.
The long coma left Charlotte feeling no abnormalities upon first waking, but after a moment, the thirst, hunger, and physical pain swept over her.
Justin Battleson immediately had the kitchen prepare food and personally fed Charlotte.
After eating, Charlotte felt some of her strength returning, and the pain in her body and the dizziness in her head subsided considerably.
"Did he... really fall into the sea like that?"
Charlotte leaned against the bed, looking at Justin sorting through documents next to her, and after deliberating for a moment, she asked.
Of course, the "he" in her words referred to Vincent.
Justin nodded.
Though he didn’t want to mention this person, he chose to answer in the face of Charlotte’s inquiry.
"There won’t be this trouble again in the future."
"I just didn’t expect him to be that kind of person."
Charlotte lowered her eyelashes, feeling a sense of emptiness.
She and Vincent had been good friends, but why did it have to end like this?
Then Charlotte, as if remembering something, raised her head and spoke in an extremely serious tone:
"By the way, how is Grace now? I’m afraid Vincent might have tampered, affecting Grace’s heart transplant surgery."
By the timeline, Grace’s surgery should be in these few days, but now that Vincent is dead, Charlotte can’t ascertain what Vincent might have done to Grace.
Because, in the hospital examination, Grace’s body showed no abnormalities.
"Don’t worry, I’m investigating this matter too, and Grace’s current condition is relatively stable. As for the heart transplant surgery..."
