Chapter 1830: Only Without You
Chapter 1830: Only Without You
Charlotte Thompson had a long dream.
In her dream, from birth, she was the little princess of the Thompson Family.
She grew up in luxury, with the company of her parents and the care of her brothers, living a life everyone envied.
Yet, Charlotte felt she might have lost something.
Charlotte slowly opened her eyes.
However, before her gaze cleared, she heard Justin Battleson calling her name beside her.
Charlotte slowly turned her head and saw Justin looking somewhat weary.
He must have been by the bedside all along, his eyes bloodshot and his expression filled with fatigue.
"Justin?"
Charlotte didn’t know how long she had been unconscious; when she spoke, her voice was hoarse.
Justin thoughtfully poured water for Charlotte, helping her into his embrace, wanting to feed her the water. However, Charlotte did not follow Justin’s actions; instead, she reached out and touched Justin’s cheek.
The stubble on Justin’s chin was rough to the touch.
"Justin..." Charlotte pursed her dry lips, her expression complex as she looked at Justin before her.
"I’m here."
Justin held onto Charlotte’s fingertips, placing a reverent kiss at her lips, and in his response, he clutched Charlotte’s palm tighter.
Afraid of letting her slip away if he was not careful.
"I had a dream."
Saying this, Charlotte nestled into Justin’s embrace.
"I dreamed of my grandfather, dreamed of my uncles, my brothers, dreamed of everyone I knew, but in my dream, you were absent."
Resting her cheek against Justin’s chest, Charlotte’s voice was muffled as she spoke, and when she uttered those last three words...
She felt Justin’s body stiffen.
But soon after, Charlotte’s cheek was tenderly cradled by Justin’s warm hands; he lifted her head, meeting her eyes with deep affection.
"Why should I appear in your dream?" Justin’s voice was gentle, his deep and mysterious gaze reflecting only Charlotte.
"I should be here in front of you, truly accompanying you, so you can see me, touch me."
Saying this, Justin held onto Charlotte’s hand, pressing it against his cheek, even affectionately rubbing against Charlotte’s palm, letting her feel him.
Charlotte’s eyes became slightly red, but her lips had already blossomed into a smile.
"It’s all over, right?"
Justin stretched out his long arm, pulling Charlotte into his embrace, responding to Charlotte’s inquiry.
It’s all over.
And at this moment, the room door was ajar, a few little heads stacked one above another peering through the gap.
"Should we go in now?" Hank Thompson whispered softly, looking at the entwined Justin and Charlotte in the room.
"I think we shouldn’t, but I want to hug Mommy, I’m so worried about her." Olivia Thompson said softly.
"But Daddy is by Mommy’s side now." Chad Thompson spoke wistfully, his words tinged with envy toward Justin.
"So should we... continue holding this pose? It’s really tiring."
Just as Jack Thompson silently muttered a line, Justin and Charlotte in the room simultaneously turned their heads toward the door.
"Babies, why don’t you come in?"
