Those Classmates who Suddenly Disappeared

Chapter 790 - 790 790

Chapter 790 - 790 790

790: 790 790: 790 If one thought Leng Le hadn’t noticed anything unusual, that would have been severely underestimating her.

From the moment the search personnel forced their way into the house, and the way they were looking at her, Leng Le began to have suspicions.

Then she observed the search personnel lingering outside, reluctant to leave, seemingly keeping a close watch on her every move.

Using the outdoor surveillance camera, Leng Le observed the comings and goings outside.

It seemed that a group of individuals had surrounded the area, and some of them were heading for the main entrance.

Later when Leng Le saw Qiao Ya and Dong Ni, she was profoundly shocked.

She was certain this group was looking for trouble, only she couldn’t figure out where she had inevitably offended Qiao Ya.

Not knowing and not bothering to figure out, Leng Le started to change into combat-friendly attire, armed herself with a gun and got ready for a showdown.

When the knocking sound rang again, Leng Le pretended not to have heard it, unperturbed, hiding in the corner, her gaze icy cold.

Running out of patience after several futile attempts, the people outside hurriedly reported to Helen, “What to do, she won’t open the door!”

Understanding the situation, Helen frowned.

“It seems, she’s alert.

Act immediately, and capture her!”

“Yes!” The subordinates skillfully picked the lock and silently opened the door.

One by one, they cautiously entered, with guns in one hand and flashlights in the other, simultaneously scanning the surrounding.

Leng Le watched from the shadows, gauging their intention from their posture.

There was no way these armed intruders were here for anything legitimate.

Left with no choice, Leng Le positioned herself for the confrontation.

She grabbed the TV remote and turned it on, instantly capturing the attention of the intruders.

At this moment, Leng Le sprang into action, shooting while striding.

Although she wasn’t a crack shot like Su Hui, she was still adept, hitting several targets who cried out in pain and went down.

But return fire was inevitable.

A bullet narrowly missed Leng Le.

This close call startled Leng Le, and she quickly hid behind the sofa.

Immediately shocks of gunfire fell upon the ears of Helen, Qiao Ya, and Dong Ni outside.

They were taken aback to see their men tumble out of the house, bleeding.

“Looks like, she is really tough to deal with!

I’d like to see how much ammunition you have.” Helen sneered and dispatched more men.

After another round of gunfire that fell silent, Helen’s expectations were confirmed.

Yes, just as Helen anticipated, Leng Le ran out of bullets, and dashed up the stairs.

The attackers followed her swiftly, but Leng Le used a fire extinguisher to spray the rushing men, covering their faces in powder.

Seeing the opportunity, Leng Le bolted from the staircase, first taking them down with a flying kick, then a few well-placed punches had them on the ground while she seized their weapons.

Hearing footsteps outside the door once more, Leng Le wasted no time and fired at the door.

The people outside were too frightened to come in.

Left with no other choice, Helen used tear gas to try to flush her out.

“Oh my god!” Knowing what the gas was, Leng Le quickly covered her mouth and sprinted to the second floor, but it was useless, as several more tear gas canisters shattered the windows there.

“Go in and get her!” Helen decided, put on her mask, armed herself, and dashed inside first.

By this moment, the gas had choked Leng Le to the extent that she had no strength left and was down on the ground.

She was still puzzled at why Qiao Ya and company wanted her.

Could it be they still held a grudge against Gu Fan, decided to take revenge on him, and, knowing that he was her ex-boyfriend…

Oh God, why am I so unlucky.

Just as Leng Le was about to collapse, a nimble figure appeared beside Leng Le.

He quickly helped her up and guided her away.

Leng Le panicked, thinking she was caught but recognized Su Hui with relief.

“How did you get here?” Leng Le asked curiously, only to be silenced by Su Hui.

“This isn’t the time for that.

Let’s get out of here.”

Su Hui led Leng Le to a corner; a skylight had been opened there.

Su Hui got in through that and asked Leng Le to climb through, then she closed it.

Soon, Su Hui and Leng Le scrambled onto the roof to avoid detection; they crawled forward.

The noise from the search inside soon reached them.

With the danger of being hunted down imminent, Su Hui rolled to the edge of the roof for a better view.

She noticed that although the pursuers were scattered in all directions, those closest to the building were outside their line of sight due to the sharp angle.

Su Hui signaled Leng Le to jump onto the adjacent rooftop.

Leng Le nodded, choosing to trust Su Hui.

The two women took a deep breath, and at the same time they stood, sprinted, and jumped, successfully landing on David’s roof before quickly entering through a skylight.

At this moment, Helen also made it to the roof but found no one there.

It seemed their quarry hadn’t come up at all.

After searching the entire building and finding no one, and the outside guards didn’t spot anyone leaving either, it all seemed strange – how could the person just vanish?

Helen refused to believe that someone could simply disappear.

Either there was a basement, or she had escaped by jumping from rooftop to rooftop.

As the roofs here were flat and close, it was not a difficult feat to accomplish.

But when Helen reached the roof, she found no evidence of a rooftop chase.

So, she returned to the roof and discovered traces of footprints; she deduced that the person had only jumped one or two roofs and then descended, possibly now far away.

Or the person jumped to another roof and directly entered the building.

After careful observation of the rooftop, Helen had a pretty good idea of where the person would have landed.

Helen tracked the prints to David’s roof, where she found the trail ending at the skylight.

“You’re good at running, but you can’t ultimately escape,” Helen was prepping to take action when the commotion they caused had attracted a crowd.

Unable to proceed, Helen retreated.

But she left observers to watch David’s house, who were instructed to report any activity, even a fly.

Unbeknownst to Helen, Su Hui, Gu Fan, Leng Le, and David had already escaped via a window, leaving no chance for capture.

Qiao Ya and his company were focused entirely on Leng Le’s house and completely missed the commotion at David’s house.
