Chapter 227 - 43: Gentle Rise and Fall; Legendary Dragon Race
Off the coast of the South Sea, within the underground cave of a nameless wilderness island.
A flicker from the small teleportation altar, Udi appeared in his dragon-man form.
The Ink Blue Scale Armor Giant Beast guarding inside the cave saw Udi and scampered over eagerly.
With a flash of dark light, Udi reverted to his fifty-meter-long true Black Dragon form. The Ink Blue Scale Armor Giant Beast, originally thirty meters long, was instantly dwarfed into the size of a puppy.
The massive dragon claw gently patted the Cyan Dragon’s head, as if caressing a pet,
"Guard well."
As he spoke, a mass of Dragon Blood condensed and flew towards the Cyan Dragon.
The Cyan Dragon consumed the Dragon Blood in one gulp, overwhelmed with excitement, licking the Black Dragon’s claw. Its current intelligence was no less than that of a seven-to-eight-year-old human child; in another half-year or so, it is estimated to not fall short of ordinary human intelligence.
Udi played with it for a short while, then sent it away.
With a thought, the space rippled, and one after another abyssal creatures’ corpses fell from the ripples to the ground, raising clouds of dust.
These were Udi’s special trophies from his expedition to the Abyss.
Every month, as the Banquet cooldown approached, Udi would travel to the Abyss to hunt a few days in advance through the teleportation altar.
His hunt targets were at least high-level abyssal creatures.
Looking at the abyssal creature corpses piled into a small mountain on the ground, Udi couldn’t help but reflect, "Only the Abyss allows me to slaughter so wantonly."
Dozens of high-level abyssal creatures, three top abyssal creatures, although they were only at Level 15-16, unlike the Level 18-19 abyssal fire pythons, after all, such high-level creatures are not commonly seen.
But even at this level of power, in the Tal Plane, they could be considered small-to-medium forces, easily establishing weak duchies and free forces.
Though vast, the Tal Plane hosts a myriad of small-to-medium forces that rise and fall annually.
However, Udi’s monthly hunting and consumption needs would be too conspicuous on the Tal Plane.
Now, what can consistently meet Udi’s needs in the Tal Plane is most likely only the ocean.
Yet compared to the Abyss, the oceans of the Tal Plane are even more perilous – not that they have more powerhouses than the Abyss, but because most areas of the ocean are ruled by various sea domain overlords.
The Abyss is different; except for the Abyssal City, the violent killing of high-level abyssal creatures in the wilderness is unchecked.
By wantonly hunting high-level sea beasts in the Tal Plane’s ocean, one essentially provokes those overlords, leading to inevitable retaliation. In the abyssal wilderness, hunting high-level abyssal creatures is overlooked without caring for these abundant ’wild weeds’, where one only needs to worry about passing abyssal powerhouses creating havoc that may affect oneself.
With this contrast, Udi naturally chooses the Abyss.
After all, even in the Abyss, Legendary Powerhouses are relatively rare; most reside in higher-level Abyssal Cities or are summoned to the Material Plane to ’work’, usually not wandering aimlessly in the abyssal wilderness.
Even encountering a Legendary Powerhouse, unless among the stronger ones, Udi is confident about escaping. Faced with a weaker Legendary Powerhouse, there’s a chance to experiment in some moves; should a real duel ensue, escape remains easily achievable.
This realization stems from Udi’s hunting spree and purchasing Legendary Powerhouse combat crystals from the All Realms Commerce Association.
Ordinary Level 19 abyssal creatures, through several real battles, Udi can kill all but those with incredibly strong escape talents effortlessly.
According to Abyss and many Material Planes’ established Level 19 strength rankings, Udi is now part of the first-tier [Limit] of this level, though barely crossing into this tier’s threshold, holding the power to slaughter normal Master-level Powerhouses and escaping after battling newly promoted Legendary Powerhouses.
But this isn’t enough; Udi’s short-term goal is to at least become a powerhouse within the Limit tier, genuinely possessing strength to engage newly promoted Legendary Powerhouses face-to-face without falling behind.
Finding the right spot in the cave, Guardian Barrier deployed, enclosing this area.
[Banquet Starts]
In an instant, the Black Dragon turned into the Beast of Gluttony, greedily devouring all matter and energy before it.
One by one, abyssal creature corpses were consumed....
A day later, Udi awakened from his enhanced slumber.
Waving his immense dragon body, feeling the power enhancement, roughly estimating, this banquet’s enhancement effects equaled two to three ordinary banquets.
Ordinary banquet enhancement refers to feeding on mid-low level creatures, mineral veins, with spawned Demon Eye Tumors also belonging to this level, which was Udi’s most common banquet food before entering the Abyss.
Glancing at the biological level on the panel reaching [Tier Fifteen Middle], Udi smiled contentedly.
Just months after breaking through to Level 15, and now, elevating another small level.
Had it been the former banquet food, it would have taken at least one to two years, multiplying efficiency multiple times.
Removing the barrier, Udi summoned the Cyan Dragon over, then pointing at the five or six leftover high-level abyssal creatures on the ground, said,
