Chapter 174 - 25: Dragon Beast; Mixed Blood Classification; Audience with the Dragon King (2)
During this time, the Dragon Beast did try to resist Kevin, but as a Dragon Beast that hadn’t received the Dragon’s Legacy, its body had entirely degenerated, making it incapable of resisting, only able to be beaten and howl in pain.
"Get lost." Kevin shouted irritably at the Dragon Beast.
On the floor of the room beneath the Dragon Nest, the Dragon Beast looked at Kevin with some fear, licking its wounds as it slowly moved to a corner of the room, away from the Dragon Nest.
But amusingly, the creature continued munching on an unfinished Magic Crystal while walking.
Crunch, crunch...
Honestly, Kevin’s anger was rising uncontrollably, with murderous intent filling its eyes.
But in the end, it merely snorted coldly, lying down at the center of the Dragon Nest, in the place where the Wind Element was the densest, and went to sleep.
"If I kill the Dragon Beast, the furious mother will have no one to vent her rage on, and it might even implicate me." Kevin thought to itself, and because of this understanding, it refrained from unleashing its murderous intent.
Time passed, and the five hatchlings gradually fell asleep.
Their energy wasn’t abundant just after being born.
After an indeterminable amount of time, a faint sound of a door opening echoed.
Five... no, four hatchlings instantly opened their eyes and looked toward the open door. The Dragon Beast was still sleeping soundly.
The room where the Dragon Nest was located was large, and naturally, the door was enormous too, several dozen meters wide, over a hundred meters tall, so it should perhaps be called a giant door.
Under the expectant gazes of the four hatchlings, the giant door swung open, and a tall human female, two meters in height, walked in.
The human female wore a specially sized black and white maid’s outfit, revealing her sensual figure without reserve. Of course, it also revealed the dark Dragon Scales on her arms and thighs without reservation.
The expectant gaze of the four hatchlings gradually froze.
A familiar yet unfamiliar scent. Familiar because of the Dragon’s Legacy records, unfamiliar because they hadn’t personally seen it before.
"Black Dragon Followers." The four hatchlings instinctively gathered together, baring their teeth, expressions a mix of vigilance and fear.
What were they vigilant and afraid of?
It was because the four hatchlings realized they were probably abandoned or stolen Dragon Eggs. If this object were a Black Dragon Follower, it would be fine, but if it was merely a human with Black Dragon Blood... a slight fear arose in their hearts.
Enslavement, captivity, blood draining, scale removal, flesh slicing, sacrifice... all sorts of horrific fates regarding enslaved Dragons passed through their minds, as recorded in the Dragon’s Legacy.
Since being tasked by the master to care for the Dragon Eggs, Sofia routinely checked on the Dragon Eggs daily, also taking the opportunity to record their status. She could naturally have other Dragon-blooded Maid record the status for her, but to avoid any accidents, she chose to do it herself.
There were also two teams of twenty Dragon Descendant Warrior servants each, constantly guarding the entrance, those being Sofia’s trusted confidants.
Sofia initially thought it was just another ordinary day. Feeling a bit depressed (due to the blow of being contracted by Ava), she visited the Dragon Nest as usual, and what shocked her was—
The Dragon Eggs hatched.
The four hatchlings were still warily staring at her.
Huh?
Four?
Sofia was startled, scanning the enormous room, eventually spotting the battered Dragon Beast in a hidden corner.
As the four hatchlings didn’t have time to react, a black and white figure flashed before them, moving so fast it was terrifying, and fast enough to chill their hearts.
Kevin, Yulia, and the other hatchlings quickly turned around, searching for that tall figure, seemingly a Black Dragon Follower Maid, ultimately finding her in the corner.
The person inspected the Dragon Beast’s injuries, exhaled a sigh of relief, then a halo of the Water Healing Technique glimmered in her hand.
Under the healing of the Water Healing Technique, the Dragon Beast’s grievous injuries gradually recovered, with shattered Dragon Scales shedding off as new, tender Dragon Scales slowly emerged.
Several Water Healing Techniques were applied, and the Dragon Beast’s injuries were mostly healed.
After treating the Dragon Beast, Sofia stood up from the ground, holding the still-sleeping Dragon Beast in her arms, and walked over to the four hatchlings.
The four hatchlings retreated in panic.
"You four, come with me." Sofia said with a smile.
"Not going." said the third brother, Said.
"Who are you?" asked the eldest brother, Kevin.
"Where is this place?" inquired the second brother, Geller.
"To meet who?" wondered the fifth sister, Yulia.
Every hatchling had a different response, which displayed their distinct personalities and emotions from another angle.
Fearful, irritable, vigilant, calm.
"To meet..." Sofia hesitated for a moment, seemingly organizing her words, while the hearts of the four hatchlings rose, screaming inwardly, hoping it wouldn’t be a human—that was their greatest fear.
"To meet the esteemed and great Master of Black Castle, the ruler of the Dragon Nest, the Dragon King."
Upon hearing Sofia’s answer, the four hatchlings all sighed in relief.
As long as it wasn’t a human or some other chaotic creature.
As for the string of titles Sofia mentioned... none of the four hatchlings were impressed.
As Dragons, who didn’t have high-level titles?
Take the firstborn, Kevin, for instance. While fighting for eggshells with his second and third brothers, he’d already thought about his future title... specifically, one of his titles: — [King of Green Dragons]
The four hatchlings followed behind Sofia step by step, with Sofia holding the snoring Dragon Beast in her arms.
During this time, the four hatchlings began to actively enquire about some questions, and their expressions were no longer as tense as at the beginning.
