"Keiran," The omega called her mate, her voice shaky.

Keiran was beside her in a second, scooping her into his arms as he leaned on the headboard. "I'm here… " He kissed the girl on the head.

Evelyn's lips trembled as she looked up to meet the alpha's eyes. "Is-Is your hand o-okay? "

"Yes, Amelia patched it up. Don't worry," Keiran smiled and hugged his mate.

"I-I'm sorry… " The omega said suddenly, causing her mate to look down at her confused.

"What?" Keiran frowned.

"You got h-hurt because of me, " Evelyn gripped the alpha's shirt. "Everyone I loved always got hurt b-because of me… I'm-I'm scared, " She sobbed into his chest.

"Hey… it's not your fault. You're special and gifted and they want you because of that. We're just trying to protect you, "

" This is not a gift. This is a curse! I don't want this, " Evelyn spat out in frustration. "I lost my mother and my father. So many innocent people got killed. I had to hide in the forest for ten years. All because of this damn gift! Now they're after you too…. I can't take this anymore.., " She looked down while the tears streamed down her face.

"I'm okay, Evelyn. Don't worry about me. I know it's hard for you, " Keiran made the omega look up at him as he cupped her face. "But you have to fight this. We will fight this together. I believe you can overcome this. If they're after you like this, then you must be more powerful than they can ever be, "

"Powerful? Me..? " The girl asked in confusion. "I don't think so… I-I heard the vampire… He said I'm your weakness. If I'm powerful, then why would I be your weakness? I'm just a burden… I only cause trouble, " Evelyn bit her lips as her eyes filled up again.

Keiran pulled his mate close and placed a soft kiss on her abused lips. "Don't think about what that bastard said. He only got to me because I was worried about you or else he wouldn't even be able to touch me, "

"That's the thing! You were worried about me and that caused you to get hurt. In the end, it's all me, "

"Evelyn, don't say that, " Keiran frowned in frustration. "I was worried about you because I didn't know you had these gifts. You made them all retreat without even touching them! "I know this might sound funny coming from a person who called you weak many times in the past but you're the strongest person I've ever met. I only used to think about my pack, my position, and our reputation… but after you came into my life, a lot of things have changed. I learned and unlearned a lot of things. Now my world revolves around you… And without you, I don't know what I would do, " Keiran snuggled his face into the crook of her neck as he hugged his mate close.

Evelyn turned beetroot red as she wrapped her hands around the alpha.

"Evelyn, your heartbeat is too loud, " Keiran chuckled.

"I-It's because you said all that just now!" The girl whined in embarrassment.

Keiran looked up at his mate's blushing face before he caught her lips in a deep kiss.

They both panted when they pulled away.

"Go to sleep. You must be tired, " The alpha said, placing a soft kiss on his mate's cheek.

"You too. You fought more than me,"

"Can I cuddle you? " Keiran tilted his head and Evelyn almost squealed at how cute the big bad alpha looked right then.

"Y-Yeah, " The omega grinned as she replied and that was enough for the alpha to lay down and pull her into his chest.

"Are you going to treat my wounds or not? " Calvin snapped suddenly, causing the omega to flinch.

Rain looked up at his mate who was sitting shirtless on their bed. He just came back from the bath.

"Y-Yeah, " The boy stuttered out before taking the medicine Amelia gave him with his shaky hands. He slowly walked up to the beta and kneeled in front of him. "Can-Can I touch you? " Rain asked nervously.

Calvin rolled his eyes. "How else are you going to do it? " He asked, making the omega blush even more.

"S-Sorry, " Rain stuttered before taking the medicine on his finger. "It might hurt a little, " He said and slowly rubbed the medicine on Calvin's cuts.

The beta flinched slightly before he groaned in pain. The medicine really burned.

Rain scrunched up his face, watching his mate in pain. He leaned a bit towards the beta and softly blew on the cuts to ease the pain.

"You'll feel better in a few minutes, " The boy said as he continued to blow on the wounds.

Calvin was speechless. He didn't know if he should push Rain away or just stay still because the cuts felt less painful when he blew on it.

Rain looked up, his blue eyes wide and gleaming. "Do you feel better? "

The omega's cheeks were tinted pink and him kneeling between Calvin's legs made the beta's heart skip a beat.

Calvin looked away as he gulped. "No," He replied while raking a hand through his hair.

Rain pouted before he leaned towards his mate a little more and started to blow on the cuts again. "The pain will go away soon,"

Calvin clicked his tongue. "I get it. Now get away from me, " He snapped, causing his mate to flinch slightly.

Rain stood up in a second, looking down nervously.

"What are you waiting for? "

"N-Nothing, "

"Then go away. I need some rest, "

"Okay, I'll make you something to eat when you wake up, "

"Do whatever, " Calvin said and flopped on the bed with a sigh.

He heard Rain walk out of the room. Calvin couldn't help but wonder why Rain was still trying to take care of him even though he's only been rude to the boy.

It was annoying.
