The Unveiling of Secret Queen

Chapter 832: Amadeus: Hmm, can’t wait a bit

Chapter 832: Amadeus: Hmm, can’t wait a bit

Nathalie Quinlan stared at his sleek jawline, nearly biting down on it, her eyes ablaze with a barely controlled desire. She forced herself to close her eyes, suppressing the surging impulse, and pushed him away, "Move over, I need to go upstairs, Aunt Cagwin is waiting for me."

Amadeus Yancey didn’t move, his chest as solid as a block of iron, still sporting that don’t-give-a-damn-unless-I-get-something look.

"That indifferent?"

That scion of the Yancey family, always so proud and noble, now had his eyelids tinged with lust, softening his demeanor.

How lethal a gentle man can be!

Especially when a man who’s not usually gentle becomes tender, that languorous tenderness cuts like a knife, every slice aiming for the heart.

Nathalie’s eyes flickered as she softly reminded him, "Didn’t we agree to wait until after my high school exams?"

Amadeus seemed rather at ease, tilting his head back nonchalantly and unabashedly admitting, "Hmm, I’m getting a bit impatient."

Nathalie: "..."

Right then, in the cramped space inside the car, Nathalie’s phone rang again.

This time it wasn’t a text message, but a phone call.

She breathed a sigh of relief, grabbed the phone to see who it was, instantly composed herself, answered the call, and brought the phone to her ear.

"Hello, Aunt Cagwin."

As soon as Amadeus heard the name "Aunt Cagwin," a hint of regret flashed in his eyes, and he naturally sat back, glancing at his wristwatch.

He then heard the girl casually speaking, "Yes, I’m past the traffic light now, almost there. Okay, I’ll be up in about five minutes."

Five minutes.

He raised an eyebrow but said nothing.

Nathalie ended the call with Aunt Cagwin, and turned back to look at him, all traces of flirtatious restlessness gone, saying naturally, "I’m going up. Aunt Cagwin has finished cooking dinner."

Amadeus unlocked the car door, and as Nathalie reached to pull it open, she hadn’t yet stepped out when she heard the man’s deep, casual voice asking her, "What do you plan to do about Phoebe Hoffman?"

"Hmm?"

Nathalie hadn’t quite come to her senses yet. After a moment of thought, she said, "I’ll deal with it as I should, go through the legal process, let’s see how it’s adjudicated."

Amadeus rolled down the car window, rested his arm on the sill while chuckling lightly, his gaze intensely indulgent, "Alright, we’ll do as you say. Don’t worry about her case, I’ll take care of it."

This time Phoebe Hoffman had gone too far, touching his raw nerve. He wasn’t planning to let off Phoebe nor the Hoffman family behind her.

Phoebe wasn’t just going to get off with a slap on the wrist this time; she would pay a steeper price.

As for the Hoffman family... Lincoln Hoffman had been overstepping too much. With Phoebe’s wrongdoing, he even had the audacity to seek favors on her behalf. From what Sadam Vinson implied, Lincoln even sought to dig into Nathalie privately.

His eyes narrowed, darkened with a grim intent, though he didn’t believe that Lincoln could uncover anything significant. Nathalie... such a small fry like Lincoln didn’t deserve to investigate her.

He lifted his gaze, speaking to the girl in front of him, "Go upstairs. After dinner, send me a message, I’ll come to pick you up."

"No need, I can take a cab back..."

Before Nathalie could finish, he insisted, "I don’t feel safe letting you go back alone. That’s settled then; let me know after dinner. If you don’t want me to come, I can send Alfred Garland."

Nathalie, out-argued by him, replied with a hint of irritation, "Alright then."

While they were talking, her phone rang again.

Nathalie picked up the phone, glanced at it, and turned to the man sitting in the car, "I won’t keep you any longer, I’m going up."

"Okay."

Amadeus watched her walk away, following her figure as she entered the residential complex, disappearing down the path, while the car remained idle, not driving away.
