Master Cadmus watched her with clouded yet spirited eyes, his expression one of regret, "Really no time?"

Nathalie Quinlan gave him a definite answer, "Really no time!"

At that moment, almost everyone in Master Cadmus’s lab inhaled sharply, their reaction nearly identical to Brian Bonette’s. The expression they turned towards Nathalie Quinlan couldn’t just be described as surprised; it was exceedingly complex.

Only Amadeus Yancey wasn’t surprised when Nathalie declined Master Cadmus’s invitation a second time; the curve of his lips broadened as if he had known she would refuse.

When Alfred Garland saw his reaction, he seemed to radiate a hint of pride, and his mouth twitched with the urge to ask what Amadeus was so proud of, as Ms. Quinlan’s rejection of Master Cadmus was no different than rejecting The Ninth Institute.

Amadeus, even if you’re not as upset as Mr. Bonette and the others, at least try not to look so proud while watching Ms. Quinlan!

As the person who had been rejected twice, Master Cadmus was quite unperturbed, quickly regaining his composure with a smile, "It’s alright if you’re busy, I just thought if you had the time, I would introduce you to bioengineering. But learning is about interest and liking what you do most."

Nathalie leaned back slightly, her dark eyes beautifully sweeping over the reactors on his lab bench, and she hummed in acknowledgement.

Her response was not particularly respectful.

But Master Cadmus didn’t mind. He surveyed her once more with his clouded yet shrewd eyes, hands clasped behind him, and said slowly, "Have you decided on a university? Staying at Tsinghua? Not taking the college entrance exam?"

The national Joint Entrance Exam is different from the college entrance exam. The results can be used as a direct admission score but do not affect the willingness to take the latter.

If Nathalie wished to take the college entrance exam, she still could.

It depended on her own wishes.

Nathalie lifted her hand, tugging at the brim of her hoodie, her fingertips cool, and she replied nonchalantly, "I will take the college entrance exam, but my university will still be Tsinghua, and my major won’t change."

"Did you discuss this with Mr. Wafford?"

With Nathalie’s results, any school would be reluctant to let her go. He was well acquainted with Jackson Wafford, knew him to be a person who valued wealth greatly, and understood that he wouldn’t let a student like Nathalie slip away without a personal talk.

Nathalie nodded and hummed, "Sort of."

"I knew he wouldn’t let go." Master Cadmus smiled, speaking with an air of genteel amiability, "Tsinghua is a decent university in China, and strictly speaking, I’m also a Tsinghua alumnus. Tsinghua doesn’t have a heavy course load, so when you start university, if you can find the time, come to The Ninth Institute to find me.
