"..." Nathalie Quinlan showed no expression on her face, mercilessly hanging up the video call. The overly handsome face that was a nuisance on the phone vanished, and the whole world quieted down. Even the air didn’t feel as thin as before.
She picked up a bottle of mineral water from the table and took a sip, then she saw a new message from Myles Sullivan pop up.
[Nathalie, didn’t you say before that you wanted to have a meal together? When are you free, can we go for a meal sometime?]
Nathalie’s attention was drawn back by the message, noticing the rare occurrence of this person sending her three messages in a row.
She scrolled through them, knowing that in the past, she might have responded.
But this time, she didn’t reply.

"..." Myles Sullivan didn’t answer her, just giving her a look.

"I just ran into her at Narayan a few days ago. She was with Mr. Norton and Tsinghua University’s Mr. Wafford, coming there to dine. Professor Gober invited her to join us, and even Ghania was giving her face, asking her to sit and eat with us, but she refused and, in the end, we couldn’t manage to have dinner with Mr. Wafford."
