Chapter 604: Sent Her a Photo of Amadeus Yancey_1

Nathalie Quinlan patiently opened it.

It was the "TV station staff" Shawn Norton had previously introduced her to.

She squinted her eyes, unsure what the other party was messaging her for, and casually clicked on the message, her tired eyes half-closed as she focused on it.

[Lighten Chaser, Mr. Norton told me you’ve come to Beijing. Do you have time? Would you like to have a meal together?]

Nathalie’s eyebrows slightly furrowed as she walked to the window, opened the glass, and fresh air from outside flowed in. She leaned against the floor-to-ceiling window, her neck crooked, before she sent a laid-back message back to Stephanie Tanzil.

[Q: I’m busy.]

Direct and to the point, without beating around the bush.

After replying to Stephanie’s message, she exited the chat software of that platform and opened WhatsApp.

Several messages popped up at once.

Good thing her phone’s system was great; any other phone would have certainly frozen.

Nathalie Quinlan scrolled past a pile of messages, and aside from those from Class A asking for follow-ups about Wenny Taylor, she noticed the most recent one was from Alfred Garland.

She clicked on it to see.

Nothing but a photo.

The photo was of Amadeus Yancey.

The man in the photo had just come down from the port, his clothes fluttering in the wind, a pair of long, straight legs particularly striking to the eye.

And not to mention his face, which was already handsome, looked even more dazzling against the sea-sky backdrop.

"Tsk," Nathalie enlarged the photo to see the goods they had intercepted behind him.

The corners of her eyes lifted, and her mouth curved into a smile.

Alfred’s messages followed one after another.

[Alfred Garland: Miss Quinlan, it’s morning here and Amadeus and I are about to set out. How about you, is Beijing cold?]

Nathalie raised her eyebrows, tilting her head, and subconsciously reached up to pull her hat down before realizing she had just showered, her hair was still wet, and the hat she tossed in the bathroom.

Her eyes were black as ink as she silently lowered her hand, paused for half a second, and took a photo of the scenery outside the hotel.

Then she sent it over.

[QN: Just got to the hotel, finished up with things, getting ready to go out for dinner.]

She didn’t check what Alfred replied after sending her message, assuming it was something of no consequence. She straightened up, walked to the refrigerator, and took out a bottle of mineral water, unscrewing the cap.

While heading back to the bed, she picked up her bag, unzipped it, and took out the laptop from her backpack to place it on the desk.

She was about to sit down.

Her phone chimed.

Nathalie turned her head, thinking it was a message from Alfred, and although she didn’t intend to look, hesitated for a second, and still picked up the phone.

She checked and saw.

It wasn’t Alfred.

It was an unfamiliar Beijing number that had texted her.

Nathalie’s phone was a private number, and she hadn’t given it to many people. She felt the series of phone numbers seemed familiar, as if she’d seen them somewhere before, but couldn’t recall where in that moment. She thus lowered her eyelids and opened the message indifferently.

[157XXXX679: Hello, Miss, I am Sadam Vinson. Amadeus hasn’t told you about me, I believe. I’m his friend. Have you arrived at the hotel? Do you want to come out for a meal? I’m near the hotel he booked for you.]

Nathalie read through the text he had sent, her eyebrows slightly creasing.

She actually didn’t want to go out, just wanted to curl up in the hotel to catch up on some sleep.

She had just declined Stephanie Tanzil, and was about to turn down Sadam Vinson’s invitation as well. But as she was replying, she paused for two seconds, saw Amadeus Yancey mentioned in his text, and the fact that he was near the hotel. She was planning to order takeout anyway; going out would be more of a hassle, but if it was nearby...

Nathalie, her eyelids drooping, ultimately decided to give him the courtesy.

[QN: Send me your location, I’ll be out in half an hour.]
