Chapter 583: Ghania Quinlan Has Really Done It This Time_1

Nathalie Quinlan watched her unable to compose herself, even unable to stand, clutching her clothes uncontrollably as she crouched on the ground, sobbing. Her eyes were cold and unswayed, calmly observing the girl in distress on the floor as she asked, "You’re from Class A, have been since freshman year. Setting aside your forum post for a moment, did you think of anyone else when you deliberately said in your post that your classmates were ostracizing you?"

"..." Wenny Taylor couldn’t cry anymore. She looked up, her eyes vacant as tears continued to drip down, biting her lip, trembling, but unable to speak.

She remembered the seat change arranged by Clerent Miller for her.

She remembered how she was never forgotten at class dinners.

She remembered that time she felt unwell during P.E. class as her period hit, doubled over in pain; the girls had run to the store to get her sanitary products while the boys went to ask the male P.E. teacher for leave, and Nathalie even took her to the school’s medical center for medicine...

This time, her tears genuinely fell.

Wenny Taylor covered her face, too ashamed to face anyone, incessantly whispering apologies, "I’m sorry, I’m sorry."

Nathalie kept her hands in her pockets, her face a mix of irritation and ennui as she watched her, her eyes dark and unfathomable as she softly said, "The people you should be apologizing to aren’t me, but your classmates and teachers who have always looked after you!"

Unfortunately, apologies lose their weight when delayed, belated affections are lighter than grass, and the words "I’m sorry" are no different!

No one will unconditionally forgive another person, and even the deepest of feelings cannot bear artifice; what’s lost is truly lost.

Wenny Taylor wept bitterly.

Her mother, worried she would cry herself into a state, no longer cared for the argument with Myles Sullivan or Ghania Quinlan and went over to pat her on the back, trying to soothe her.

As Amadeus Yancey passed the middle-aged man clad in a suit and leather shoes, he paused slightly, his reserved gaze looking down upon him, his face expressionless, but his eyes revealing the oppressive air of the true upper echelons, "Regarding Jecksen Wilmar’s matter, since you’re not content with dealing with it privately, let’s go public."

"Mr. Yancey, didn’t we agree..." Myles Sullivan started, taken aback, his mouth agape.

"I had previously agreed to Mr. Yancey’s request to take a step back, to not make the incident too ugly," he paused for a second, casting a glance over Ghania Quinlan. His hands fidgeted carelessly with the Buddhist beads on his wrist, hints of a fierce red in his eyes, "But if you’re not afraid of ugliness, I see no reason to carelessly offer you any face."

"..." Myles Sullivan turned pale, unable to utter a word.

It was embarrassing enough that Jecksen Wilmar was in jail!

They sought several connections because of the sheer embarrassment of Jecksen Wilmar’s incarceration, eventually reaching Mr. Yancey, and it was through his influence that they negotiated to handle the matter privately,

Jecksen Wilmar was still to be jailed, but without the need for a public trial, which for a family like theirs, the quieter the better.

But Ghania Quinlan’s meddling destroyed the agreement they had finally reached after so many rounds, ruining all their hard work!

And they were initially in the wrong, so if the other party refused to save their face, they could only swallow the bitter pill!

Amadeus Yancey didn’t look at his face color, indifferently saying, "I will touch base with Simon Cadwell, once the sentence is passed, the news should be announced accordingly, and all due processes should be followed."

"..." Myles Sullivan was panicked at the thought of the issue hitting the news. Desperate, he sought to plead with Nathalie, but she was already ahead. He looked up to see only her retreating figure, as she had already left...
