Chapter 481: Understand the Reasons Before Causing Trouble_1

"I haven’t found out the specifics yet; my contact is still investigating the details," she said. "I’ve booked a return flight, but why don’t you wait for me to get back before we discuss this further?"

This matter seemed quite complicated, involving people from Beijing. Silvania Ingram wasn’t clear on which Beijing family’s power was implicated. She left Beijing ten years ago to make her mark in the world, and over the years, she had always been involved in the business circles. Nathalie Quinlan lived in McKinney, and Silvania had even set up the headquarters of Pinecone Group there, spending most of the year with Nathalie to develop their business in McKinney. Gradually, she became less familiar with the people and matters of Beijing, and some of the connections she brought with her from the family had been lost due to lack of contact. It was not easy to pick these up again, and she could only entrust the people she knew to help investigate, but so far, she had not received a reply.

Worried that Nathalie might act impulsively, she had Jethro Yapiter book the earliest available return flight for her.

But international flights are not as frequent as domestic ones, where there can be several flights a day between cities. International flights are longer, with the shortest taking 5 hours and the longer ones up to more than ten hours.

Typically, there are only one or two flights available each day.

The route she needed to take had two flights a day, and today’s tickets were already sold out; she had to wait until tomorrow afternoon to return.

The flight would take approximately 10 hours, meaning she might arrive in McKinney around 2 or 3 a.m.

"I’ll be back the day after tomorrow and will hurry back as soon as I can."

Nathalie Quinlan pursed her lips. She hadn’t initially thought Freddy Cagwin could cause much trouble, but seeing her response sank her heart. Half-squinting, she said while holding her phone, "I’ll go visit the police station first to see the person."

"...Alright."

Silvania Ingram knew about her relationship with the Cagwin Family and had a good idea of the situation. She knew it was unrealistic to prevent Nathalie from seeing Freddy, so she quickly said, "I guessed you would go. I’ve already given Mr. Cadwell a heads-up; he will come over after his conferences, and he will be there to make it easier for you to see Freddy."

"Mhm, thanks, Mrs. Ingram," Nathalie said softly, her heart warmed by Silvania Ingram’s thorough arrangements.

A low chuckle came from the other end of the phone, with a tone both chiding and doting, "Thanks for what; I haven’t been much help. Anyway, Nathalie, you can go see Freddy, but don’t act on impulse when you face issues and wait for me to return for everything else. I can come forward and deal with some things that might be inconvenient for you to handle yourself."

Only Nathalie and Lowie Wilmar knew that Nathalie was a major shareholder of Pinecone Group. Lowie had gone back to his hometown due to family issues a while back and had not returned yet. With Lowie away and Silvania overseas unable to return immediately, she was not at ease with Nathalie facing this alone.

"I’ve told Jethro to take the flight back to McKinney tonight. If all else fails, you can ask him to step in," she said.

"I understand," Nathalie acknowledged, aware that many issues were inconvenient for her to deal with personally due to her young age and the tendency of others to overlook her.

She rarely took the lead, as Silvania Ingram typically stepped in on her behalf to settle matters, though of course, Nathalie contributed from behind the scenes.

Something in Nathalie softened, and the air of defiance around her seemed less intense. As if the sharp edges had been smoothed, the genuine softness within was revealed: "I’m just going to check on Freddy’s situation. Even if I were to stir up trouble, I need to understand what’s going on first."

"It’s still best not to cause trouble. You have your high school exams coming up, and it’s better to keep a low profile. Once you get to Beijing, you can stir up all the trouble you want," she advised.

She already knew Nathalie’s exam results, which were both unexpected and reasonable.

It was no surprise to her that Nathalie could get into Tsinghua University, but scoring 650 points did make her do a double-take. Upon reflection, she thought it wouldn’t be strange if Nathalie had scored full marks!

So it was unexpected, yet reasonable.
