Chapter 450: Chapter 450: The Scumbag and the Green Tea Bitch, a Match Made in Heaven
Inside the Bentley, Ignatius Leclair’s face was so dark it was almost grim. He instructed, word by word, "Inform the hotel to close the outdoor pool. It won’t open for a month."
That evening, Desmond Wood, eager to enjoy the infinity pool while taking in the night view, was apologetically told by the hotel manager, who was all nods and bows, that everyone had to leave the rooftop and the outdoor bath was closed.
Desmond, holding his flip-flops, was a bit bewildered in the wind and awkwardly squeezed out a smile, saying, "With a body this good, I’m afraid of being kidnapped. I better go soak in the bathtub."
Delphine just smiled silently, carrying a wine bottle back to continue drinking.
In the night, the man closed his eyes and leaned back in the car, softly instructing, "Let’s go back."
That night, Dr. Zheng was urgently summoned to the Leclair mansion again. This time, the one who fell ill was none other than the usually healthiest Crown Prince of the Leclair Family. The old doctor examined him and was somewhat displeased—a simple cold had almost turned into pneumonia. He yelled to send him to the hospital quickly, then took his medical kit and went back to sleep.
Two days later, Delphine was sending her father to the hospital for a check-up when she was stopped at the pharmacy window.
"Delphine Carter, let’s talk." Melody Cloud, wearing black sunglasses and followed by two bodyguards, called out to her coolly.
Seeing her carrying a pot of freshly made tonic, Delphine looked down with indifference and said, "There’s nothing to say, lest Miss Cloud comes up with some scheme to plot against me and waste time."
She was always indifferent to people and matters, especially toward a woman who had framed her.
Melody’s face suddenly turned ugly. She had come to hate Delphine to the core these days. Originally, she was the most glamorous debutante in Southeast Asia, with impeccable family background and looks, almost perfect. Yet, this woman had used nothing but her face, shamelessly seducing her senior, and pretended to make a second deal, creating scandals between her and Ignatius Leclair.
"You were premeditated on the eighth." Melody said through gritted teeth.
Delphine couldn’t help but chuckle, her bright eyes flashing with a trace of coldness, and she mocked, "If Miss Cloud hadn’t insisted on suing me, people would only know about your scandal with Ignatius Leclair, thinking the marriage was near, how would such a scandal break out, tearing off your mask? A person with such venomous thoughts, how could they expect any good outcome?"
Luckily, because of Melody’s sinister intentions, Delphine’s plans were disrupted, which allowed her to reconnect with her biological father in Southeast Asia, and the lawsuit was discovered by the Wood Family, which eventually triggered a series of events, turning misfortune into fortune. In a way, she should thank Melody Cloud.
Melody’s face was extremely unsightly. She had been hiding at home not daring to come out, all thanks to her.
"So what if you won the lawsuit, you were still kicked out of the Leclair Family, and Ignatius wasn’t even informed when he fell ill, was he?" Melody showed a reserved and smug smile, proudly lifting the soup she had cooked.
Delphine was momentarily stunned. Ignatius Leclair was ill?
In her impression, the man was almost omnipotent, but he too had times of frailty and illness.
Delphine casually smiled and said, "Then I wish Miss Cloud to win Ignatius’s heart soon. A scumbag and a vixen, a match made in heaven."
"Who are you calling?" Melody, who had maintained a perfect image for over twenty years, was now pointing at her nose by an orphan she never paid attention to. Infuriated, she reached out and gave her a hard shove.
Delphine, caught off guard, was pushed and hit the glass railing on the side, instantly seeing black.
