Chapter 707: Beat Him with Confidence, Daddy’s Here

Early the next morning, while Delphine was still fast asleep, the man got up and took the two little ones to school.

Nicholas Carter and Benjamin Leclair had already successfully joined the senior class at the prestigious aristocratic kindergarten in South Provence. Their classmates were nothing short of pampered brats from families of influence and privilege.

Because of Ignatius Leclair’s car accident, Delphine had sent the two little ones to the Squire Family. The siblings of the Squire Family were easy-going people, and every time Benjamin tried to weasel out of going to school, Leah would just let her be. As a result, at this Sunflower Kindergarten, ten days into the semester, the two little rascals had only attended three or four days of classes.

"Daddy, are we going to live here forever?" Benjamin tugged at Ignatius Leclair’s pant leg, her dark, watery eyes glimmering with longing. She missed the Imperial City and wanted to go back to her great-grandmother’s house.

"Yes," the man nodded leisurely, lifting his handsome face from the pile of documents to look at Benjamin keenly. "Is South Provence bad, or is the kindergarten bad?"

Benjamin bit her soft, pink lips and stayed silent.

The man reached out and flicked her forehead lightly, narrowing his eyes as he said, "Biting your lips will make you look ugly." Delphine also had a habit of biting her lips, which wasn’t great.

Benjamin quickly covered her mouth, and Nicholas suddenly spoke up, "They like to bully Benjamin. They pull her pigtails."

Instantly, the handsome and dignified man’s face darkened. These brats have some nerve—pulling Benjamin’s pigtails?

"Did you hit them back?" Ignatius Leclair glanced at the adorable little girl with her pinkish cheeks.

"Can I hit them?" Benjamin tilted her little head and asked. She had wanted to hit them. Back in the Imperial City, no one dared to pull her pigtails. If they did, she’d hit them so hard they’d cry and call their parents, without daring to retaliate. Since they had just moved to South Provence, however, the little girl wasn’t sure of the situation here, so she hadn’t fought back.

"Go ahead and hit them. Daddy’s got your back." The man reached out and stroked the little girl’s fluffy head, his lips curving into an elegant and faint smile.

Benjamin’s dark, grape-like eyes lit up instantly, and she broke into a sweet, radiant smile. When they arrived at the kindergarten, she hummed children’s songs and joyfully went to class with her Sunflower backpack.

That day, Benjamin successfully turned the tables on the brat pack in her class. Later, she skipped home, cheerfully bouncing in Nicholas’s wake, until her homeroom teacher called Delphine to complain. It was only then that Delphine learned her little baby had gotten into a fight at school!

"Mrs. Leclair, Benjamin looks so delicate and cuddly, such an adorable little girl, but she actually knocked out Ambrose Walker’s front tooth," the teacher at the kindergarten sounded incredibly flabbergasted over the phone. "Now his parents are calling to complain, demanding Benjamin be expelled. Please come to the school tomorrow to handle this matter."

Delphine was momentarily dumbfounded, then grew a little angry. While apologizing to the teacher, she assured them that she would take Benjamin to school the next day to apologize to her classmate.

Seeing her good attitude, the teacher’s tone softened a bit and said, "Normally kids fighting isn’t a big deal, but this Ambrose has quite an influential family background. Mrs. Leclair, when you bring Benjamin to apologize tomorrow, make sure your attitude is impeccable."

After hanging up the phone, Delphine turned to look at the little ones clustered around Ignatius Leclair, sweetly acting spoiled in the living room. Her expression grew slightly stern, and in a rare moment, she spoke angrily, "Benjamin Leclair, did you get into a fight at school today?"

Her voice, still soft and delicate, carried a trace of reprimand, which startled not only Benjamin and Nicholas but even Ignatius Leclair, the full-time stay-at-home dad lounging on the sofa. His phoenix-like eyes narrowed deeply. Was their little kitten finally showing her claws?
