Chapter 706: I’ll Help You Blow-Dry Your Hair
Delphine knelt half on the bed, trying to hide her long, snowy-white legs. One hand pressed against the unruly large palm on her head as her delicate face tilted slightly upward.
The man lowered his eyes, unwilling to remind her that from his vantage point, the view before him was endlessly breathtaking.
His gaze deepened as he pondered buying her all sorts of T-shirts and shirts in the future, enough for her to wear just one.
"What are you hinting at, little Delphine, hmm?" The man’s voice was low and rich, his chest faintly trembling as the corner of his lips curved into a playful smile.
Delphine swiftly pulled back her hand, grabbing the quilt and pulling it over her thighs. But then she realized that with him standing and her kneeling on the bed, her aura was completely overshadowed.
"Nothing. Why aren’t you going back to sleep yet?" Delphine’s tone carried a hint of fluster.
"I’ll dry your hair before I sleep; otherwise, your head will ache tomorrow." The man’s expression was laced with meaning as he spoke and retrieved a hairdryer from the bathroom. His voice was low and steady as he added, "Just close your eyes and relax."
His voice was stunningly smooth, tinged with a trace of seductive charm. Delphine instinctively obeyed his instructions before realizing what she was doing, her face showing an expression of slight regret—oh, such submissiveness.
Still, it wasn’t often she enjoyed the service of Ignatius Leclair himself. Delphine narrowed her eyes and smiled faintly. This was a rare treat—she’d profited, definitely profited.
The man’s slender fingers gently ran through her long hair, massaging her pressure points as well. Delphine felt her heart practically melting under his touch, the comfort indescribable; she shut her eyes and let him have his way.
He stroked her silky, naturally curved hair, slowly blowing it dry and continuing the massage. Seeing her humming contentedly with no hint of awareness of the danger before her, he squinted. He was, after all, a man in his prime, and though older, dealing with her would be a walk in the park.
Delphine, lulled into a daze by the massage, nearly fell asleep. It wasn’t until her body grew warmer and beads of sweat began to form that she finally opened her eyes, meeting his dangerously intense gaze.
Ignatius Leclair’s phoenix-like eyes were as deep and impenetrable as a black hole, devoid of any trace of light. His strikingly handsome, restrained face carried no expression as he leaned towards her bit by bit under her astonished gaze.
"Cook, wash dishes, take care of the kids—you’ve done it all. Only one thing’s left undone," he murmured, his deep, raspy voice filled with implications. Every previous action seemingly a lead-up, for without warming his bed, would he even handle childcare? He could just toss them to the Leclair Family or Howard Family.
"There’s no need for the last one," Delphine instantly grasped the meaning of his words, her cheeks flushing red. She tried to stand, but his arms were immovable like walls of steel; no matter how she pushed, she couldn’t budge him. Her body stiffened as she found herself stuck, completely unable to advance or retreat.
Why hadn’t she noticed before how clingy this man could be? She used to be the one clingy with him. Delphine sighed inwardly, resigned.
His gaze had already darkened considerably, his breath faint as he coaxed in a hoarse voice, "I have obsessive-compulsive tendencies. Things need to be completely done. You can keep sleeping early and waking early—only then can you take Nicholas and Benjamin to school tomorrow."
This morning had started too late, prompting Ignatius to call in excuses for the two children.
Delphine’s cheeks flushed crimson, trying to speak, but her voice was swallowed up wholly.
"Do you like me, hmm?" The man teased seductively, watching her bite her lip without saying a word. His phoenix-like eyes grew even darker.
In the end, Delphine, persuaded by the allure of his low murmur, gave in with a hurried nod and said some pleading words. Only then did the man show rare mercy and let her go.
By the end, Delphine was so exhausted that she fell asleep the moment her head touched the pillow, firmly resolving to get up early tomorrow to send Nicholas and Benjamin to school.
