Chapter 658: I Have Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder

"Let me go." Delphine tried to push him away, but her strength was nonexistent, and her voice carried a rare, soft fragility.

If the prey delivered itself to the predator’s mouth, there was no reason to spit it out, especially when this time, she had walked right into his trap. He couldn’t bear to let her go.

Ignatius Leclair held her tightly and walked straight to the sofa. He set her down on the plush cushions, ensuring she was more comfortable.

"You still have feelings for me." His voice was hoarse to the extreme. "Little liar, why are you deceiving yourself?"

Delphine’s mind was a haze, her ears filled with the man’s low, raspy voice. It wasn’t until she felt her skin go cold that she snapped out of her daze and pushed him away with force.

The wound on the man’s chest wasn’t fully healed, and her hands pressed on the injured spot, making his body tremble.

Neither of them was in a good state. Delphine trembled slightly as she adjusted her disheveled clothes, then scoffed coldly, "Don’t touch me."

The man’s expression softened, though his handsome, stern face retained a lingering trace of the darkness left by the brief interruption. He spoke deeply, "Then when can I touch you?"

Seeing his blatant remarks and the overtly aggressive look in his eyes, Delphine instinctively tried to reach out and cover them. This man was becoming more and more shameless.

"Ignatius Leclair, we’re already divorced," she emphasized.

Ignatius chuckled coldly, his gaze lingering on her flushed lips and his phoenix-like eyes dark and profound. In a low voice, he replied, "Who said we’re divorced? Since we’ve been living apart for three years, I won’t shirk my responsibilities going forward—I won’t let you sleep in an empty bed alone."

Delphine’s eyes widened in shock as she exclaimed, "What do you mean?"

Standing up, the man no longer wanted to wait. Her scent was too intoxicating. In a faint tone, he said, "I tore up the divorce agreement an hour before you returned, so we’re still legally married."

That divorce agreement had never been signed by the man. He had locked it away in his safe. He hadn’t mentioned it before for two reasons: first, those petty rivals weren’t worth acknowledging as real competition, and now that Griffith Squire was back, it was time to address the issue directly; second, he didn’t want to scare her into fleeing with Nicholas overnight as she had before. Now that she was back from Southeast Asia, it was time to properly remind her of her place.

For instance, she couldn’t casually push him away next time!

"You’re lying. Then what about the past three years when you were constantly going on matchmaking dates and searching for someone new?" Delphine’s shock left her completely disoriented, her body cold to the touch.

"Those were merely ordinary social interactions. It’s not like I engaged in any improper behavior. After all, when a woman runs away for three years, even a lonely old man has to try and salvage some confidence." Ignatius narrowed his eyes, his tone carrying a mix of frustration and unfulfilled longing.

"If you don’t like living here, I’ll take you and the kids to Emerald Hill Villas tomorrow. We can come back to have Chinese New Year’s Eve dinner—and it’s fine not to worry about the old man’s opinions. Just follow your own wishes." Ignatius couldn’t restrain himself as he kissed her delicate cheek lightly, his voice softer than ever before. "I’ll give you time to adjust."

"I don’t believe you." Delphine pushed him away as her body trembled. So, all of his erratic and pathological behavior previously—it turned out he had never signed the divorce agreement? Had he been playing her for three whole years?

Ignatius’s gaze darkened as he watched her struggle desperately. In a low, hoarse tone, he said, "I have a cleanliness obsession—I can’t tolerate other women. Do you believe me now?"
