Chapter 647 - 467: Raising Tigers Has Been Problematic for Three Years, Time to Go Back and Kill the Tiger
The handsome young boy looked at the short little girl in front of him, and slowly took out a handful of lollipops from his backpack, shaking them in front of the pink-cheeked girl.
Benjamin Leclair’s bright black eyes immediately sparkled like stars in the sky. She threw her arms around Casimir Shaw and sweetly called out, "Brother, brother, brother..."
Casimir Shaw: "..."
"Ten of them." The pink little girl squinted her eyes in a smile, stood on tiptoe to grab Casimir Shaw’s lollipops, and stuffed all of them into Nicholas Carter’s piglet-shaped backpack. Then she said sweetly, "Remember to bring more lollipops next time, okay?"
Casimir Shaw: "..."
"Benjamin, if you eat so many, your daddy will scold you." Nicholas tugged at little Benjamin’s clothes to remind her.
"That’s why I stuffed them into your backpack. Daddy never checks your bag." Benjamin was in an excellent mood, hopping and skipping away with her bunny plush to play elsewhere.
Casimir Shaw was left speechless, a complex expression on his face.
"You’re still the cute one." The handsome young boy patted Nicholas Carter’s little head and awkwardly smiled.
Nicholas Carter looked at Casimir Shaw with a face full of sympathy and said seriously, "Benjamin is the cute one."
Always adept at playing innocent and charming his way into people’s hearts, the ever-popular Casimir Shaw suddenly found his appeal plummeting ever since old Mr. Shaw forbade him from using his cuteness tactics to monopolize Mommy. Now he wasn’t even as appealing as a lollipop. He was heartbroken.
In the hospital room, the old lady had already wiped her tears once. After steadying her emotions, she said, "Since you’re so set on this, you can’t rush it. The mess you made back then led to today’s situation. Thankfully, there are two children, so there’s still some hope."
Ignatius Leclair sat on the hospital bed. After a few days of treatment, the knife wound was no longer serious—about 50-60% healed. In a low voice, the man asked, "Grandmother, do you have any good advice?"
The old lady wished she could crack open his stubborn head. Such a brilliant person, yet so clueless when it came to matters of the heart.
"Don’t do anything else. Just stay by her side. Spend more time with the two kids to strengthen the bond. Over time, she’ll treat you differently than others. Don’t use your old tactics anymore—she’s clearly someone who responds to tenderness, not force. She’s a strong-willed one."
Ignatius’s phoenix-shaped eyes grew deep. Indeed, she responded to softness, not hardness. Even when she despised and hated him, she cried her heart out when he slashed himself with the knife.
"By the way, how did little Shaw manage to marry his wife? Ask him. Young people nowadays aren’t like us back in the day." The old lady shifted the topic to Richard Shaw.
Richard Shaw looked awkward. He hadn’t chased his wife successfully back then—and he was still chasing her now. He was only doing marginally better than Ignatius.
Ignatius sneered and glanced at his battered wheelchair. "Hey, it’s been seven or eight years like this, hasn’t it? Pretty tough guy."
"This Chinese New Year, I’m heading back to Nanyang. I’ve been away from there for too long, and with this hospitalization, there are some rumors going around. I need to show my face," Ignatius said gravely to the old lady.
"You’re leaving before your wound is healed? Are you taking Benjamin too?" The old lady looked a bit uneasy.
Ignatius nodded, his handsome and sharp features showing a hint of solemnity. These past three years, raising a tiger had come back to bite him. He needed to go back and tame the tiger—and find a way to bring Delphine and the two children back to Nanyang with him.
