the two-faced Adopted Girl Who Melted CEO's Ice-Cold Heart

Chapter 566 The Woman Behind You is My Ex-Wife

Chapter 566 The Woman Behind You is My Ex-Wife

"Benjamin, you have two minutes to come out." Ignatius Leclair’s voice grew low and dangerous.

Benjamin pouted, wearing pink bunny pajamas, dragging his small, stubby legs as he slowly walked out like a snail, glancing back at Delphine every few steps.

Delphine’s heart clenched, and she followed him out, speaking softly, "Mr. Leclair, the child is still young; you shouldn’t educate him with intimidation."

Ignatius’s deep gaze shifted from Benjamin to Delphine. Seeing the dark circles under her eyes, it was clear she hadn’t slept all night. Her slender and delicate frame, paired with her slightly curled short hair, made her features appear even more petite and refined.

"Are you trying to discuss parenting with me?" Ignatius squinted and asked.

When Cassius Turner stepped inside, he immediately saw Ignatius asserting himself, sitting in Delphine’s home with a cold and imperious demeanor. Meanwhile, Delphine and Benjamin stood aside like guilty children.

Wilbur Turner felt an instant surge of frustration that lodged in his chest, making him uncomfortable. He let out a cold laugh and said, "Mr. Leclair, showing up at someone else’s home early in the morning to discipline your own kid—how mighty."

He walked in and stood in front of Delphine and Benjamin, shielding them. He nodded at Delphine.

Delphine saw him arriving and felt a wave of relief. She quickly motioned to Nicholas, who was standing near the door, and whispered, "Nicholas, take your sister to brush her teeth and wash up."

"Alright, Mommy." Nicholas Carter curiously glanced at the uncle sitting in the living room, then walked over to take Benjamin’s hand to go freshen up.

Benjamin, realizing he had escaped a scolding, happily followed Nicholas, darting into the bathroom.

With the two children gone, the tension in the living room grew heavier.

Ignatius’s expression hardened. He gazed at the Land Family’s second young master, who had appeared to play the hero, and at Delphine hiding behind him. For some reason, an inexplicable anger churned within his chest.

So after three years apart, this woman already had a new love and planned to remarry, taking his child along? Very well, fine.

Yeats Howard entered slightly later than Cassius Turner and could immediately sense the thick atmosphere of unease. He felt as though he’d stepped into a minefield, one foot inside and one foot lingering outside, as he chuckled awkwardly and said, "Good morning, everyone. Quite lively today, huh?"

The Howard Family’s self-proclaimed Demon King now felt like a shrimp being boiled, stripped of his once-mighty air.

Ignatius didn’t spare him a glance, his eyes deep and cold as he looked at Cassius Turner, sneering, "Mr. Turner, the woman behind you is my ex-wife. I am the father of two children. Do I not have the right to discipline them? And you, Mr. Turner—do you have that right?"

Ex-wife?

Cassius’s expression shifted slightly. So they had once been married, meaning the children weren’t born out of wedlock.

Yeats Howard was bewildered. His uncle’s ex-wife? The one who left with Benjamin and disappeared for three years—his former aunt? Yeats felt as if struck by lightning. Back then, the incident had unfolded in the South Seas, and by the time the Howard Family had learned of it, Benjamin and Nicholas had already been born. Ignatius had remained tight-lipped about his private matters, and the Howard Family didn’t want to stir up old wounds. As such, not only Yeats but even the Howard Family hadn’t known who Benjamin’s biological mother was.

Cassius looked at Delphine, seeing her pale complexion and her slender frame trembling uncontrollably. He couldn’t help but feel pity for her. No wonder she had chosen to hide her identity and take the children away. Given Ignatius’s background, his status and power—he wouldn’t even need to blink to crush her.

"Since she’s your ex-wife, it means your relationship has long since ended," Cassius retorted unyieldingly. "If Mr. Leclair wishes to educate his child, take him home to do so. Showing up at someone else’s house is simply inappropriate."
