Chapter 490: What on earth did you do back then?

Chapter 490: What on earth did you do back then?

Ignatius Leclair curled his lips into a smile, his handsome brows and eyes full of amusement. He had already decided that once the child was born, the Leclair Family, Howard Family, and Shaw Family would take turns raising the child. After all, back then Casimir Shaw had been the adored treasure of all three families—how could his own child possibly be any less than Casimir?

Once this little one was taken care of, if Delphine didn’t like life in Southeast Asia, he would take her to settle in the United Kingdom. When the child grew older and was less troublesome, he would then consider whether to bring them back to raise himself.

"How’s your leg treatment going?" Ignatius Leclair finally remembered to ask about the surgery.

"The paralysis has persisted for quite some time. It’ll likely take a year or two of rehabilitation before there’s a chance of standing again," Richard Shaw said calmly, his deep eyes steady. For him, even the possibility of walking again was something to be grateful for.

The two chatted briefly, and when Maximilian returned, Ignatius Leclair ended the call.

"The fourth has returned. Just got off the plane," Maximilian said in a low voice. "Miss Leclair from your family is unwilling to divorce, and the Yeager Family is increasingly demanding, claiming the 10% Leclair Corporation shares Stone Leclair once promised them."

"Tell them to go demand it from Stone Leclair," Ignatius sneered coldly. Did the Yeager Family actually think the empty promises Stone made back then were real?

"Ever since Beatrice Carter’s accident, Stone has been staying in Imperial City. His promotion there is practically confirmed, so he doesn’t have much time to manage things here in Southeast Asia."

Ignatius Leclair’s expression grew dark, his voice indifferent as he said, "Let Bessie go back to the Yeager Family earlier and let them keep her. Give her whatever she wants."

If the Yeager Family couldn’t keep themselves in line, then they shouldn’t blame him for being ruthless. With Bessie’s temperament, she would surely stir things up in the Yeager Family, leaving them chaotic and restless day and night.

Reginald Yeager wanted to free up his hands to get a divorce so he could meddle in his affairs with Delphine? What a delusional thought.

"Isn’t the fourth an expert in brain surgery? Have him find some time to take a look at Beatrice Carter," Ignatius said flatly. Just because Stone Leclair was rising now didn’t mean he couldn’t fall.

After arranging all these messy matters, Ignatius finally rubbed his aching temples. The headache was becoming increasingly unbearable.

Maximilian, noticing Ignatius’s somber expression, was startled and hurriedly said, "How about we call the second back? There are too many complicated matters here in Southeast Asia. If the second returned to take charge, perhaps you could take Miss Delphine on a vacation to relax."

Among their think tank, the most capable one was Arthur White—the second brother. Almost a jack-of-all-trades, he could handle anything. The third excelled only in the legal field, while Maximilian himself specialized in finance. The fourth never bothered with this kind of stuff and focused solely on research. Meanwhile, the sixth had a mysterious identity and couldn’t be ordered around, responding with barely a word after half a day.

Ignatius’s expression darkened further, his voice icy as he said, "Do not call him back. Just let the fourth rest up properly and arrange for him to do a brain scan for me."

Maximilian, feeling uneasy, nodded quickly. He still couldn’t understand why the second brother had been exiled so harshly.

After leaving the room, Maximilian began to think seriously about how something was clearly amiss with Ignatius’s condition. He ultimately decided to make a call to the second brother.

The second brother had been banished to a farm for five or six years now, living in a small town in the countryside. Even though he managed the various branches remotely through one computer, it wasn’t exactly leisurely.

Arthur White had originally spoken with a light-hearted tone, but his expression shifted when he heard about Ignatius’s insomnia. His demeanor sobered as he asked gravely, "How long has the insomnia lasted?"

"Over two months. Ignatius hasn’t allowed anyone to mention it—just one female psychologist knows about it. This morning, he even ordered me to silence her," Maximilian paused before continuing, "Second brother, I initially suggested having you come back, but Ignatius rejected it. What else did you do back then besides revealing his and Miss Delphine’s relationship?"
