Delphine saw her dragging a suitcase. No wonder things had been so chaotic in the past few days without her showing up—she had been purposely sent away.
The only person who could send Bessie Leclair away was Jocelyn Yeager.
Thinking of Jocelyn Yeager, Delphine let out a soft sigh, her emotions becoming complicated.
The old man was playing upstairs with Isaac Leclair. Hearing the commotion, he came downstairs and saw Bessie standing at the door crying. The old man had a soft heart and immediately called out in concern, "What’s wrong, Bessie? Weren’t you supposed to be on vacation?"
Ignatius Leclair, having seen Bessie’s act countless times, was long immune to it. He pressed his lips together tightly and silently watched her performance.
"Grandpa, there must be a misunderstanding about Jocelyn. Brother Jocelyn and I are supposed to get married after the New Year. How could he elope with Delphine? As she spoke, Bessie started rummaging for her lab test report.

Bessie shook her head while crying.

"All they do is bury themselves in research. Tell them to come back immediately, or I’ll break their legs!" The old man thundered, pounding his cane loudly in frustration.
The New Year hadn’t even passed, and yet the troubles were overwhelming.
The old man thought of his eldest grandson, Ignatius, who had lost his mother at an early age, while Bessie’s parents had been absent for years. He, an old man, had struggled to take care of her, but with his wife having left him long ago, he couldn’t help but feel melancholic.
"Butler, call the Yeager Family and demand Reginald and the Yeager patriarch come for a meeting. Set the location at Cloud Summit," Ignatius instructed coldly, handling the sudden crisis with decisiveness. "Grandpa’s health isn’t good, so he shouldn’t be involved. Bessie will accompany me."
After speaking, Ignatius glanced at Bessie, his deep, sharp eyes filled with a knowing clarity.
Bessie’s heart raced intensely. She stiffened but nodded. This was her only chance. After chasing him for so many years, this man had to belong to her—otherwise, the shame would be unbearable among her friends.
