Chapter 302: Delphine Carter, you’re just putting on an act, and even if you end up dead, we siblings will collect your body for you.
Ignatius Leclair glared at the uninvited warlord leader, his expression dark to the extreme, and said coldly, "Griffith Squire, do you think this is your Golden Triangle, where you can barge in as you please?"
The tall and sharp figure of the man blocked the corridor, his eyebrows and eyes filled with anger. His phoenix-shaped eyes narrowed as he stared intently at their clasped hands.
Griffith Squire, caught in the act, directly pulled Delphine out of the small attic and shielded her behind him. He sneered coldly, "Save me your pompous airs, Crown Prince of the South Seas. I’ve never seen a man as disgraceful as you. You’ve treated your own woman like this, and you still have the gall to act justified?"
Griffith didn’t hold back his scolding, even channeling all the anger of the past few days onto him. What nonsense—a man hogging such a remarkable girl and not even cherishing her properly.
Ignatius Leclair’s gaze moved past him to look at Delphine. His sharp, angular face became slightly rigid as the corners of his mouth tightened, yet he offered no explanation.
"It was my decision to stay in the small attic," Delphine tugged at Griffith’s sleeve, her hand aching slightly from his grip. She asked softly, "Where’s Leah?"
"Don’t speak," Griffith said, seeing her still trying to defend the man, his fury soaring uncontrollably. He turned to Ignatius with a cold sneer and continued, "What’s wrong? Slept with the girl but don’t dare admit her identity? Hiding her away in a place as pitiful as this storeroom? Let me tell you, if you don’t give me a proper answer today, I’m taking her with me."
He added defiantly with a sneer, "Since today’s your Leclair Family’s event, go ahead and let it escalate. I’m not afraid."
Ignatius’s eyes flickered with a trace of darkness as he spoke in an icy tone, "Since it’s the Leclair Family’s event, we can easily dispose of someone trespassing without a sound."
"You?" Griffith’s handsome face twisted into an insolent smirk. "As if I haven’t already beaten you black and blue before."
The two had gotten into a fight at the film studio not long ago, where the warlord leader, accustomed to life-and-death scenarios, had clearly come out on top.
"Let her go." Ignatius’s patience was being worn thin, his voice becoming frigid and firm.
After spitting verbal volleys for long enough, Griffith, seeing him lose his temper, rolled up his sleeves and swung a punch.
Griffith was well-practiced in fighting, while Ignatius had hardly ever been in physical altercations. The handsome features of Ignatius’s stern face took a hit, and his aura grew bone-chilling as he retaliated without holding back.
Delphine watched the two men—both over six foot two, one a Golden Triangle overlord and the other a scion of a prominent South Seas family—brawling in a narrow, dim corridor like squabbling three-year-olds. She was so exasperated her stomach ached. Holding onto the wall, her face turned pale, and she almost fainted.
Ignatius hadn’t really intended to fight Griffith. When he saw Delphine’s unwell appearance, he immediately backed off, taking another punch from Griffith, then retreating two steps to steady her.
"What’s wrong? Is it your stomach acting up again?" Griffith asked anxiously as he moved forward, only to be blocked by Ignatius.
After a few seconds, Delphine’s dull pain gradually subsided. Her face paled further as she hoarsely said, "It’s an old problem. Stop fighting, both of you. It’s my fault."
She looked at Griffith, her gaze misty and slightly pained, and spoke softly, "Griffith, I won’t leave the Leclair Family."
Griffith’s face darkened, and he slammed his fist into the wall. His strikingly handsome yet devilish features were taut as he growled coldly, "Delphine Carter, go ahead and ruin yourself. When you die, Leah and I will collect your body."
With that, the man stormed off in exasperation and fury.
