Chapter 301: She Can Only Have Me as Her First and Last Man

Chapter 301: She Can Only Have Me as Her First and Last Man

In two days, Stone Leclair will host a birthday banquet for Ms. Gu.

The old man called Stone for a serious talk about it, throwing a tantrum, but ultimately compromised for the sake of his son’s political future.

When Ignatius Leclair mentioned it to Delphine, she remained silent. At this point, even the old man’s opposition would merely entertain the outsiders, but it’s foreseeable that Ms. Gu’s days ahead will be far from easy.

Delphine had long lost all affection for her birth mother, abandoned all expectations, and shifted all her attention to Isaac Leclair. The siblings were inseparably close, almost living as though they were a single person.

Ignatius Leclair’s expression was perpetually dark about it. If it weren’t for the old man’s presence, he would’ve long thrown that kid to the other side of the ocean. Competing with a group of men was one thing, but now he had to compete with a nine-year-old brat? Pah!

Ms. Gu’s birthday banquet was held at the Leclair Mansion. Coincidentally, the old man had returned from South Seas and had the main hall opened up, supposedly to reunite with some old friends.

The mansion was bustling early in the morning, and by afternoon, the guests began to trickle in.

Delphine had no intention of attending. She woke up wearing loose loungewear, picked out a red, British-style suit for Isaac, and dressed him up to look like a little gentleman. She carefully instructed him on certain matters.

With the old man presiding, prominent families from South Seas were bound to show up, and the Cloud Family would undoubtedly be among them. She wasn’t concerned about most things; her worry lay with Isaac’s young age. This was his first public appearance at a banquet. If anyone with malicious intent provoked him, it could displease the old man.

"Sis, don’t worry; I’ll only go out for a few minutes and come right back to keep you company." The young boy, with his tiger-like innocent charm, shook her arm, acting spoiled. "I like playing with you the most."

Delphine laughed, stroking his little head, nodded, and entrusted him to the butler before heading back to the attic, planning to pass the time by reading.

She hadn’t even read a few pages when the attic door was abruptly pushed open. Griffith Squire stood outside in the corridor, his handsome face shadowed by an ominous expression. Gritting his teeth, he demanded, "I was gone for just a few days, and you’ve stooped to this level?"

Delphine’s expression faltered. She stood up awkwardly and softly asked, "Why are you here?" The Leclair Family’s main hall was especially renovated for the banquet guests, separated from the family residence by a small garden. This attic was on the top floor, and Ignatius was known to detest people intruding on his territory. If he found out, the commotion they’d stir was unimaginable.

Griffith’s face darkened further. He looked at her with fury and disappointment as his critical gaze swept over the cramped attic. Not a single corner was to his liking. Furious, he exclaimed, "Is this how you live in the Leclair Family? Your mother abandoned you; Ignatius bullies you; Stone acts like you’re not human—and you still put yourself through this? Come, leave with me."

As he spoke, Griffith stepped inside, grabbing her arm with a grim expression and pulling her toward the exit.

Delphine’s face turned pale as she held his hand and said, "I won’t leave with you."

Griffith was so enraged he nearly coughed up blood. Seizing her fragile arm that seemed as if it could snap in one twist, he sneered coldly, "I knew it—women are fickle. Just because that man was your first, you keep fixating on him. If it’s about being your last man, I’d certainly outmatch him a hundred times over."

"Her first man, her last man—she’ll only ever belong to me." A deep, icy voice spoke. The handsome man who had arrived in search of her smirked coldly, his sharp gaze frost-covered and unwavering.
