Chapter 1100: All Men Come Home at Midnight to Hold Her in Their Arms

Chapter 1100: All Men Come Home at Midnight to Hold Her in Their Arms

After a set of mysterious numbers was transmitted by Eamon Turner, they traveled across half the globe to reach a virtual number. A hacker concealed in South America decoded the information within and made a phone call to the Golden Triangle.

Upon receiving the information, Cornelius Turner was slightly surprised and sought out Griffith Squire, whispering his report: "Boss, Eamon sent two pieces of news, Miss Leah is two months pregnant, and Richard Shaw might head to the Middle East for peacekeeping soon."

Griffith Squire’s face changed abruptly upon hearing this. He walked to the window, gazing at the deep mountains and forests and the backward and dilapidated villages in his view. The crimson of murderous intent flickered in his almond-shaped eyes.

In order to seize the Yasah territory, they’ve been lurking in this village for nearly two months, without managing to take down the opponent’s land. Over the years, they have grown from a small guerrilla team to become one of the top five armed forces in the region. But it is still not enough; swallowing the Yasah territory would allow control over half of the Golden Triangle, thus securing the protection for those they wish to guard.

"Within three months, take down the Yasah territory." The young, handsome man with an air of menace spoke ruthlessly.

"The Yasah army is equally matched with our forces, and they have close ties with the General Stroud to the west; three months is too tight." Cornelius Turner frowned and said, "Boss, even if we take down the Yasah territory in three months, General Stroud’s side will launch a mad attack, and cleaning up the aftermath would take two months, making it unsuitable to bring Miss Leah over. The medical level here is far inferior to that of the Imperial City, it’s risky to give birth here."

Cornelius Turner left part of his sentence unfinished.

"Three months is already the limit because we also need to swallow Stroud’s territory and go to the Imperial City to fetch Leah." The man, full of menace, squinted his almond eyes and said word by word, "Leah’s child must also be brought over; that is our Cox Family’s child."

He intends not only to take down Yasah but also to use swallowing the Yasah territory as a guise, drawing Stroud in to inflict heavy damage, locking down the region firmly in his grasp, and naturally inlaying the most lethal pin across the warlords’ domain in the Golden Triangle.

After all, ever since the downfall of the Cox Family, the father’s tragic death, and Leah’s flight to the Imperial City, he has been preparing for everything that would follow.

After Crystal Landon had undergone checks at the First Hospital and learned that the fetus was stable, she did not want to be hospitalized and returned to the Shaw Mansion early.

The Shaw Family placed an unusual level of emphasis on this child; with Eamon Turner guarding outside the house, and with the Old Lady and Mrs. Zhao inside, they kept their doors closed to visitors, the remaining servants being reliable ones who had served the Shaw Mansion for decades.

The Old Lady of the Shaw Family exhibited an astonishing spirit, and this area around the Shaw Mansion was heavily controlled territory, now making it even more impossible for ordinary people to enter.

The Old Lady did not mention any of this, as usual, to prevent Crystal Landon from feeling restricted and lacking freedom.

Crystal Landon vaguely perceived something, but considering the Shaw Family’s sparse descent, the control meant her and the child’s safety levels were higher, she pretended not to know.

Nor did the Shaw Family know how many people were watching them; after Richard Shaw’s parents sacrificed themselves for the nation, with the Shaw Mansion left with the old and the young, everyone thought the Shaw Family was doomed to decline, but who knew it was due to the presence of Richard Shaw that the Shaw Family lineage persisted.

Now Richard Shaw has a child, making the Shaw Family’s status even more stable than before.

Crystal Landon’s pregnancy held immense ramifications; the Old Lady issued strict orders that no one was allowed to disclose it.

Yet Crystal Landon had processed her leave of absence, which couldn’t be concealed from Nova Howard and others.

"Having a baby? Crystal, you are still a baby yourself!" Nova Howard exclaimed in surprise, "Even if you’re pregnant, it doesn’t mean you need a leave of absence."

"Nova, just knowing about this is enough, but you must not speak of it," Lana Shaw said excitedly.

"Why can’t it be mentioned? When my second sister-in-law was pregnant, my grandma couldn’t wait to announce it to the world," Nova Howard said, bewildered.

"This is my cousin’s bloodline, a legitimate child of the Shaw Family; it must be handled flawlessly, and it’s not too late to say after the baby is born." Calliope Shaw appeared quite happy, noting that unlike the Howard Family’s abundant descendants, the legitimate bloodline in the Shaw Family now reinforced their standing, and even the side branches could better stabilize.

Nova Howard looked troubled, thinking this means it will be a long time before seeing Crystal Landon again?

"You all can come whenever you like; anyway, being home alone is quite boring," Crystal Landon remarked lightly.

Richard Shaw hadn’t returned since leaving that day; the Old Lady was furious, wishing she could drag him home from the Military District for punishment, yet Crystal Landon didn’t mind, finding not seeing him more peaceful and less aggravating.

On the fourth evening, Richard Shaw hurried back to the Shaw Mansion from the Military District.

The man, wearing military uniform, looked solemn as he entered the living room to find the Old Lady with Crystal Landon sitting on the sofa, crafting bibs and various small clothes for infants.

"In the past, I personally made all the small clothes when Richard’s father and Richard were born; trusting externally purchased ones is hard, so I cut and sew using fabric myself, and it is quick to make." The Old Lady, wearing reading glasses, kindly laughed as she demonstrated to Crystal Landon.

"We still don’t know if it’s a boy or a girl." Crystal Landon watched the aged Old Lady still being so skillful, feeling somewhat envious; her own hands were adept with a gun, but sewing needles felt like facing death.

"Boy or girl, they are Shaw Family’s treasures all the same." The Old Lady smiled, "You certainly are the blessing of our family, having a child so soon, hopefully three years with a brace of two."

Crystal Landon smiled silently; perhaps for freshness and convenience, her long jet-black hair was all braided, revealing her bright little face, with features exquisite and faultlessly beautiful, her gorgeous almond eyes full of laughter, as compellingly beautiful as March peaches.

Richard Shaw glanced, momentarily awestruck, then entered, speaking lowly, "Grandma, I’m back."

The Old Lady lifted her head from a pile of baby clothes and, seeing he returned in formal attire, expressed slight surprise, asking, "Why did you come back at this time? Is there important business?"

Richard Shaw nodded, walked over without even removing his coat, his lightly tea-colored eyes glanced at Crystal Landon, speaking soberly, "Grandma, I need to leave home for a period, I should be able to return before Crystal Landon gives birth."

These days he returned home daily, although late at night; after holding Crystal Landon for an hour of sleep, he’d rise to head back to the Military District.

The Shaw Family Old Lady heard this, picking up the feather duster to hit him, tears streaming as she scolded, "Crystal is pregnant... why is there anything that requires your personal attention?"
