Chapter 1045: Help Me Apply the Medicine

Augustus Howard’s upcoming wedding was something Crystal Landon heard Nova Howard mention before. Augustus was having a flash marriage, rekindling his relationship with an old flame, and marrying due to pregnancy.

Crystal had long prepared a gift; knowing the bride liked horseback riding, she especially gifted a Dutch horse, and then selected some presents to be given on the wedding day.

This past year, the old lady had already entrusted her with handling various affairs, and she gradually became adept. The Shaw Family was renowned; the old lady was discreet, but she preferred being high-profile. The old lady indulged her, saying it was best to balance things out.

Richard Shaw applied for a military transfer and returned home late at night. He hadn’t slept at all last night and contemplated for half the night before getting up early to apply to return to Imperial City.

More than a year of psychological adjustment, coupled with what happened last night, made it time to return.

He originally planned to return sooner, but Augustus learned about his return and called to invite him to a gathering, claiming it was a bachelor party.

As a Major General who said farewell to singlehood over a year ago, he seemed to have never organized such a party himself. Reflecting on last night’s insatiability until she fainted, the man felt somewhat troubled and decided to attend Alaric Howard’s bachelor party.

It was as if leaving home allowed him to breathe easily and return to his true self.

The bachelor party went on until very late, but Richard Shaw had a standard routine and came home early.

Upon returning, Crystal Landon was still awake, lying on the bed playing mobile games, her smooth black hair spread across the bed. Seeing him return, she snorted coldly and said, "Did you go to the bachelor party with Alaric?"

Richard Shaw was instantly taken aback. How did she know everything?

Crystal jumped down from the bed, shoved her phone in front of him, and coquettishly said, "I’m in pain at home, and you went to a bachelor party, smoking and drinking. Starting today, quit smoking or I’ll start too."

"Where does it hurt? Let me check," the man’s attention shifted entirely to her mention of pain. Looking at the photos Nova Howard sent her, he frowned slightly. The Howard Family’s young girl was like a tail, reporting everything to Crystal. Yet, he frequently interacted with the Howard brothers and couldn’t escape.

"It hurts all over." She pouted her seductive red lips, thinking he was probably hopeless, and said delicately, "Apply some ointment for me."

"Sure." Richard Shaw recalled her mention of pain, and upon seeing the striking marks on her body, he furrowed his brow. His slightly amber eyes flashed with regret; he had been too heavy-handed last night.

The man silently took the ointment and sat on the bed to apply it for her.

Crystal Landon, like a cat, closed her eyes and comfortably hummed on the bed, "Richard, I want to keep a cat."

"Okay," the man responded, his long, rough fingers opened the ointment, even though the calluses on his palm had been worn away, he still felt the skin of his hand was too coarse to use any force, afraid she would feel pain.

"So, do you think I should keep a Ragdoll cat or a Persian cat? Or maybe another cat?" Crystal turned her head to look at him, slightly raising her body.

The man’s gaze instantly deepened, reaching out to press her slender and enchanting body into the blanket, his breath slightly heavy as he said, "All are fine."

"Then I’ll keep a Ragdoll. I want to raise three ones; one small one will be grandma’s, one small one will be mine, and the last, ugliest small one will be yours." After speaking, she lay on the pillow, laughing brightly.

Three Ragdoll cats, it seemed like a neat little family.
