Chapter 1077 1092: I'm Not Afraid of Bullets
Then, with a bang, Lin Mu threw the handcuffs in front of Deng Chao. Deng Chao was stunned, completely unable to believe that there was actually someone in this world who could easily open these most secure handcuffs in the country. You know, his hands were cuffed! Even if they weren't, opening these handcuffs with bare hands was unimaginable! But Lin Mu didn't care about any of that. He stood up gracefully and casually headed toward the interrogation room door.
"Stop him!" Deng Chao immediately ordered his subordinates, the police officers.
At this point, Deng Chao absolutely couldn't let Lin Mu escape. It's outrageous to be so audacious inside the police station. Even though Lin Mu was pretty badass, being able to open handcuffs with bare hands, if the guy just walked away, where would that leave his reputation as a detective?
Moreover, based on Lin Mu's actions, from the perspective of the police station, this was literally resisting the law. Now was a great opportunity to deal with Lin Mu. If the reasons earlier weren't sufficient, and somewhat unconvincing, now that Lin Mu was resisting law enforcement, they had a legitimate reason to arrest him, and this wasn't just a matter of detention, but a serious sentencing issue.
So, at this moment, Deng Chao finally had the confidence to deal with Lin Mu. You want to leave, huh? No way! I'll make sure you're ruined today!
A few officers, hearing Deng Chao's command, immediately rushed in front of Lin Mu, blocking his way.
Lin Mu turned his head and glanced at Deng Chao, "What's up? Are you inviting me to your house for dinner?"
"Hmph, stop the small talk. You're not leaving here today," Deng Chao said coldly, then stood up. "Don't think you can do whatever you want just because you know a little kung fu. Let me tell you, this is a police station. It's not a place for you to mess around."
Lin Mu shook his head slightly, "I've seen plenty of police stations, but meeting a scumbag like you makes me actually not want to leave. Unless I give you a proper beating today, I'm really reluctant to go!"
Deng Chao, having heard Lin Mu's extremely arrogant words, could hardly bear it. This was the first time he'd seen someone dare claim they were going to "sort out" a cop in a police station. Did this Lin Mu really think he was the unbeatable Ultraman? The thought made Deng Chao unusually angry!
"Brothers, take him down. I'll take all the responsibility," Deng Chao ordered viciously.
A few police officers, hearing the detective say this, rushed toward Lin Mu without a second thought. However, before they could react, they saw a silhouette swipe past them and then heard a string of disjointed screams, "Ahh ahh ahh..." In the blink of an eye, the officers were swept aside by that nimble and domineering figure, each flying backward and falling heavily to the ground.
"Heh, alright, let me give you a wall-smashing performance!" Lin Mu chuckled.
The sight left Deng Chao in a daze for nearly half a minute. He had only just seen Lin Mu's silhouette move slightly, not clearly seeing what move he used, and yet his subordinates had already been knocked out with virtually no resistance.
"Lin Mu, what kind of trickery are you playing?" Deng Chao asked cautiously. He had lived for two or three decades and had never seen anyone perform such a move. This was simply beyond human capability! Even if his titanium-alloy dog eyes were blinded, he couldn't see what Lin Mu had done.
"Heh, I don't know. Don't you have surveillance here? Why don't you check the footage? Just make sure you don't accuse me of assaulting officers! After all, police need evidence!" Lin Mu said with a shrug and a smile.
"You..." Deng Chao was left red-faced and humiliated, unable to say a word.
Fire Rose was dumbfounded at the side. He knew Lin Mu had some skills, but he never imagined he was this formidable.
"Alright, that's enough. I won't play with you guys anymore. I still have to go home and take my wife shopping," Lin Mu chuckled and then stretched lazily before heading out.
"Stop right there!" Deng Chao was absolutely unwilling to admit defeat. As a second-generation official used to violent law enforcement, he'd never lost face like this before, so there was no way he could let Lin Mu just walk away.
Lin Mu turned around plainly, looking at Deng Chao, and said indifferently, "What's up? Do you still need something?"
"You're not leaving here today," Deng Chao said, quickly pulling a gun from his waist and aiming it at Lin Mu.
Lin Mu wasn't threatened by Deng Chao holding a gun. Instead, he laughed, "What's that? You want to shoot me?"
"If you dare to resist the law, I'll shoot you immediately. One shot is all it takes to kill you. If you don't believe me, let's try it!" Deng Chao said, already pointing the gun at Lin Mu.
"Heh, I believe you, but I believe even more that you can't kill me, and you don't even know how to handle a gun!" Lin Mu said with a teasing smile.
"What? You don't believe I can kill you with one shot?" Deng Chao glared at Lin Mu. Was this a joke? He was a grand detective, a well-known figure in Haidian District, and was being mocked for not knowing how to use a gun. Although he wasn't a sharpshooter, with the two of them this close, Deng Chao was confident he could kill him a hundred times!
"I really don't believe it," Lin Mu said calmly.
"You..." Deng Chao initially intended to scare Lin Mu a bit, considering that shooting in a police station would escalate matters. This time, he was originally handling Lin Mu at Du Mei's request, but now, after being continuously humiliated by Lin Mu, Deng Chao was furious to the extreme and found it hard to control his emotions.
"Me? What's up? Go on, shoot me. I want to see if you can hit," Lin Mu said with a playful laugh, pointing at his own chest.
Deng Chao glared at Lin Mu, his anger clouding his judgment. Faced with Lin Mu's repeated provocations, if he didn't shoot, wouldn't that mean he was admitting defeat? That would imply he was afraid of this unremarkable guy! Besides, he was a cop, an enforcer of the law, and a second-generation official, always accustomed to being overbearing. How could Deng Chao admit defeat in public? Bang, the sound of a gunshot echoed as Deng Chao finally couldn't restrain himself any longer and fired at Lin Mu's arm. After all, police weren't supposed to kill, but hitting his arm wasn't a big deal. Who told him to flagrantly resist the law in the interrogation room?
Just a second later, everyone looked upwards. The ceiling light above had been shattered, and Deng Chao stood right beneath it, causing the glass fragments to fall all over him.
Meanwhile, Lin Mu still stood smiling in place without a single scratch or drop of blood. Clearly, Deng Chao had shot the lamp above his own head.
"I said you didn't know how to handle a gun, but you insisted on trying it. Do you admit it now?" Lin Mu said with a smile.
Deng Chao was perplexed. He had clearly aimed at Lin Mu, so why did the bullet hit the lamp above him? However, he felt that at the very instant before he fired, a blinding brilliance shot from Lin Mu's gaze.
