"There's a rule here, since it's an interrogation, you must wear handcuffs," Deng Chao glanced at Lin Mu and spoke coldly."Alright, I'll cooperate with you guys." Lin Mu found it somewhat dull. Actually, these handcuffs were about as threatening to him as toys kids play with; wearing them or not made no difference. If Lin Mu wanted to escape or do something sneaky, he could easily unlock the handcuffs; such measures were just like a light drizzle to him.
The young officer handcuffed Lin Mu's hands. Lin Mu cooperated as if it was nothing; indeed, it was nothing at all, just these stupid cops being bored out of their minds.
"Okay, let's begin the interrogation." Deng Chao sat down, looking at Lin Mu and asked, "Tell us the exact details of last night, don't hide anything, because we've already gathered enough evidence."
Upon hearing Deng Chao's words, Lin Mu couldn't help but smirk. For some reason, this dumbass cop just looked annoying!
"Since you've already gathered enough evidence, why are you even asking? Come on, since you know I'm innocent, just let me go, my wife is waiting outside."
"Impudent." Deng Chao slammed the table, as if a fire ignited instantly, "Do you know what place this is? You think you can leave just like that? You'd better confess your crimes honestly!"
"Crimes? Geez, that's a fancy term. Alright, I'll confess. Last night at the bar, I beat up a couple of punks. Is that what you call a crime?" Lin Mu replied nonchalantly.
"You admit it now, huh? Fine, since you've admitted it, there's nothing more to ask, according to the regulations, let's detain you for seven days first," Deng Chao said.
"You're gonna detain me for seven days?" Lin Mu couldn't help but sneer, "You better figure it out before jumping to conclusions, it was self-defense, alright?"
"Self-defense? Do you have any evidence to prove it was self-defense?" Deng Chao sneered at Lin Mu.
Only now did Lin Mu realize, this was not assistance in investigation; clearly, he was being screwed over by this bunch of dumb cops!
Since they wanted to play with words, Lin Mu decided to play along, after all, he had nothing better to do!
"So what evidence do you have to prove it wasn't self-defense?" Lin Mu asked coldly.
"You want evidence, huh? Sure, I'll fulfill that wish." Deng Chao sneered and signaled to a nearby officer.
The young officer nodded and left the interrogation room. In just a few minutes, the door burst open again.
Lin Mu looked up and his heart skipped a beat, nearly filled with dread. It was none other than Fire Rose, who crashed into his car yesterday and demanded compensation.
"Hey, what are you doing here?" Lin Mu glanced at Fire Rose and asked.
Fire Rose looked at Lin Mu, who was handcuffed, and couldn't help but feel triumphant. "Hmph, what am I doing? I'm here as a witness, of course. Last night I saw with my own eyes, you assaulted Bald Qiang and then injured Han Jiang and the others."
Deng Chao sat nearby and sneered, continuing, "Lin Mu, now that we have eyewitness evidence, what else do you have to say?"
Lin Mu looked at Fire Rose and then at Deng Chao, suddenly laughed, "Haha, I thought you were in cahoots with Han Jiang, turns out I was wrong; it's you two who are in cahoots."
"Lin Mu, don't think yesterday's incident is over just like that. Now is your time to suffer," Fire Rose said triumphantly.
One could say Du Mei's idea to deal with Lin Mu was simply perfect, it was effortless! No matter how good his martial arts, it's all wasted since his hands are cuffed and he's locked up in the police station. What could he rebel against? So now they could deal with him however they wanted.
Lin Mu glanced at the smug Fire Rose, chuckled and said, "I say, miss, you want revenge, huh? Guess it won't be that easy for you to succeed."
"What? You planning to escape?" Fire Rose said triumphantly, clearly thinking Lin Mu couldn't possibly pull it off.
"I wouldn't run, would I? I haven't done anything illegal; even if I go out, I'll walk out openly!" Lin Mu said casually.
Deng Chao continued, "Lin Mu, don't get too cocky, according to the law, you'll have to be detained for at least seven days before you can leave the station."
"Detained, what for? My wife's still waiting outside." Lin Mu said indifferently, what nonsense law! Clearly this dumb cop Deng Chao was manipulated by Fire Rose to mess with Lin Mu, using the excuse of a bar fight to deliberately trouble Lin Mu.
Damn it, I've been screwed by these cops! Lin Mu sighed inwardly.
"Haha, Lin Mu, this police station isn't somewhere you can leave just because you want to!" Deng Chao sneered.
"Is that so? But for me, it seems pretty easy!" Lin Mu replied, not taking it seriously.
"Lin Mu, I'm warning you, don't be so arrogant, these few days you'll have to suffer here! Even if you don't lose a pound of flesh, you'll shed a layer of skin!" Fire Rose said hatefully from the side.
"How do you know I'll definitely suffer in here?"
"Of course I know, once you're in here, don't expect to get out," Fire Rose said.
"That's not necessarily true. Oh, feeling sore all over, need to bask in the sun when I get out." Lin Mu lifted his wrist, observant people could notice the handcuff had already slipped off, and then he sat comfortably on the sofa, stretching leisurely.
This casual act from Lin Mu shocked Fire Rose, even Deng Chao and the other officers present widened their eyes in disbelief.
"Did you cuff him or not?" Deng Chao asked the young officer next to him.
"I did, I did cuff him," the young officer was also unsure, preferring to believe he hadn't cuffed him rather than accept Lin Mu somehow unlocked it himself. It was terrifying, not even warming up, just directly slipping free, it was practically magic!
Deng Chao glared at Lin Mu, "Lin Mu, what do you want to do?"
"Nothing, just want to go out and bask in the sun, it's so dark in here, not a place I like to stay," Lin Mu said, standing up from his chair.
"Lin Mu," Deng Chao shouted angrily.
Lin Mu completely ignored the furious Deng Chao, played with the handcuffs in his hands, "By the way, these are yours, better return them. Forgot to tell you, they don't work on me."
