Chapter 87: Isla Pendragon
Chapter 87: Isla Pendragon
Mary was still a beautiful woman, only second to Margaret.
Compared to Elsa, Leonardo preferred Mary more—especially because she had a calmer personality and wasn’t as talkative as Elsa.
He quickly broke into her body, pressing her down before moving aggressively, making the woman let out a loud moan almost instantly.
She wrapped her arms and legs around Leonardo while her face tilted upward to make breathing easier.
Her moans filled the car.
No sound leaked out because the car was tightly sealed with excellent sound insulation.
However, from the outside, the car shook continuously, revealing the sinful act of the two inside.
Fortunately, there was no one around to see it.
Leonardo did this to relieve the slight dizziness in his head caused by all the problems.
After everything was over, he finally felt comfortable and calm.
The two of them quickly got dressed again, and Mary couldn’t hide her awkwardness now that the desire pushing her was gone.
She quickly returned to the driver’s seat and reversed the car back to the main road.
While driving, she couldn’t help glancing at Leonardo from time to time, wondering if he would come again to take his share in the future.
Neptune Star Hospital.
They arrived there in a short time.
After the car stopped, Leonardo immediately got out.
"Thanks," he said before closing the door, as Mary had no intention of entering the hospital.
To his surprise, he saw Linda Diaz in the hospital lobby.
"Anderson, are you going to Miss’s room?" she asked, approaching him first.
"Yes, where is she?" Leonardo replied.
"Follow me."
She led him to the elevator.
Inside the elevator, she looked at him curiously and said, "I heard you were the one who gave Miss Harvey the Holy Tree Heart?"
"Is there a problem?" Leonardo asked.
"There’s a message from Boss James as thanks. He said you can ask him for anything if you need something. Maybe there’s something you want but can’t obtain easily. Boss can definitely provide it."
"Alright, I’ll think about it later," Leonardo replied, though he wasn’t sure if he would actually ask.
When the elevator opened, Leonardo saw a corridor.
Interestingly, there was only one door in this hallway besides the elevator door.
And he saw Emma sitting on a chair beside that door.
The woman was quite surprised when she saw Leonardo.
"Go ahead, you can ask Miss Smith, she’s guarding Miss’s room..." Linda said.
Leonardo nodded and walked over, while Linda took the elevator back down.
"Leonardo..." Emma stood up and greeted him awkwardly.
"Is Margaret okay?" Leonardo asked.
"Yes, the surgery went well. She’s fine," Emma replied softly.
She didn’t know whether to treat Leonardo as a superior or a friend now.
After all, it was just the two of them here.
Leonardo didn’t say much more. He opened the door and stepped inside.
It was a very luxurious room with complete facilities.
The room was completely enclosed, without windows, as it was located in the middle of the building.
The bed was positioned right in the center, with Margaret lying on it, eyes tightly closed, wearing patient pajamas.
Several tubes were connected to her body, flowing blue and transparent liquids.
Her calm face was exactly like when Leonardo first saw her sleeping.
Of course, when she slept beside him, she also showed a peaceful expression—but her position was different from when she slept alone.
Leonardo wondered what he was supposed to do here.
Margaret wasn’t sick, just unconscious, and there shouldn’t be any problem at all.
After all, he himself had undergone surgery with just an old doctor in a rundown hospital, while Margaret was treated in her own hospital with unquestionable reputation.
She was just made to sleep longer—perhaps intentionally for better results.
Here, Leonardo could practically only watch her sleep.
But where else could he go?
The more Thomas’s words about him spread, the more dangerous it would become for him.
This hospital was naturally one of the safest places.
Someone would need a lot of courage to cause trouble here—especially since it belonged to the Harvey Family, and many elite families’ members were receiving treatment inside.
After observing Margaret for a while, Leonardo eventually just sat down, playing games on his phone.
When night came, he was startled by the door suddenly opening.
And he became even more shocked when he saw a woman with short black hair, extremely beautiful with fair skin.
She looked to be in her early 30s.
She wasn’t very tall, maybe around 160 cm, wearing a knee-length black dress with a white pearl necklace, exuding elegance beyond anything Leonardo had ever seen.
When he looked at her more closely, he realized something—her face was very similar to Margaret’s, and overall, they indeed resembled each other.
Leonardo immediately suspected something.
Margaret’s mother.
This was something not widely known. It was said that James Harvey divorced at a young age and gained custody of his daughter.
For someone of Leonardo’s generation, information about James’s ex-wife was scarce, and Margaret never had the habit of mentioning her parents.
She never boasted that her father was James Harvey. People knew simply because James Harvey was too famous, and Margaret didn’t intentionally hide it.
Of course, she would never say she was the daughter of a certain woman.
Leonardo didn’t ask, as it might be a sensitive topic. He simply waited for the woman to speak.
The woman looked at Margaret first, then at Leonardo.
From her appearance, she clearly had an extraordinary background, and Leonardo could feel that she was a powerful Awakener.
"So you’re Leonardo Anderson, Margaret’s boyfriend?" she said, walking toward him while looking him up and down with a faint smile whose meaning was unclear.
"Madam, are you Margaret’s mother?" Leonardo asked in response.
"Yes... you must have noticed our resemblance," the woman replied.
"May I know your name?" Leonardo asked again.
Perhaps after knowing her name, he could guess her identity.
That was, if her surname was rare.
"Isla, Isla Pendragon."
The woman didn’t mind telling him her name.
And Leonardo was instantly shocked.
Pendragon.
Someone with that surname was Mr. Pendragon.
He was the Head of the Awakener Association of America—not just the United States, but the entire American continent, as the Association was divided into branches representing each continent, except Asia which was split into East and West.
To hold that position, strength was absolutely required.
What was this woman’s relationship with Mr. Pendragon? Was she his daughter?
After all, Mr. Pendragon did have a daughter.
If that was the case, Margaret’s background was truly extraordinary.
But why was this woman here?
To visit Margaret?
No—Margaret wasn’t sick, she didn’t need visiting.
To meet her daughter’s boyfriend?
That felt excessive. After all, this was just dating. Who cared about who their child was dating?
It wasn’t marriage. A relationship like this could start and end quickly.
So the reason she came must be—
Leonardo became alert.
But then, he was shocked.
The woman’s hand suddenly touched his cheek.
"Handsome and bold. It seems Margaret has the same taste as me."
Leonardo, "..."
How could he not be surprised?
He froze, staring at the woman in disbelief.
Then he felt her hand gently caressing his cheek.
"What made you so cautious?" she asked as she withdrew her hand.
"Madam, I don’t understand what you mean," Leonardo replied.
His words naturally covered both the woman’s actions and her remarks.
He wouldn’t admit that he was being cautious, even though he was indeed curious about her behavior.
After all, who would touch someone else’s cheek upon their first meeting?
"Don’t you have a mischievous side, boy?" the woman replied.
Leonardo found himself at a loss for words upon hearing that.
"By the way, I don’t look old, do I?" she asked afterward, slightly furrowing her brows as she looked toward the mirror on the wall.
She examined her own reflection in the mirror, observing herself carefully as if to confirm whether she looked old.
Her age was clearly over forty, yet from any angle, she truly appeared to be in her thirties.
No one would doubt that.
Still, Leonardo was completely confused about what was going on with her.
After confirming that she didn’t look old, the woman gave Leonardo a faint smile again.
However, she then stepped toward Margaret, who was lying on the bed.
Leonardo followed her instinctively.
He was quite certain of one thing—this woman’s sanity was questionable.
Naturally, he needed to keep an eye on her.
"Time really flies... my little baby back then has already become such a beautiful woman. There must be so many men who like her," she said as she stood beside Margaret, gazing at her face.
"But tsk, that bastard James... he raised her terribly. To think he made my daughter distance herself from me and refuse to see me at all, even though I could give her so much more."
"Madam, what exactly do you want?" Leonardo asked, unable to hold back his curiosity at the woman’s strange behavior.
