Chapter 86: Meet Ayumi Again
Chapter 86: Meet Ayumi Again
"Liam, go now!" Leonardo ordered.
He only wanted to escort him this far to ensure there were no disturbances.
Liam nodded and flapped his wings, flying quickly into the distance, astonishing the people around.
"Leonardo Anderson..." Some people recognized him after seeing his conflict with Thomas in front of the portal.
Their gazes toward Leonardo were somewhat unusual. Leonardo frowned slightly, then turned back into the gate, appearing in the Transmission World.
He realized there was danger from other Awakeners if he wandered alone.
Thomas needs to die, he thought.
There was no need to be vengeful to feel such deep resentment.
After all, this was disrupting the life that had been going well for him.
But if that man suddenly died, Leonardo knew it would only make people more certain that he was the culprit.
He sighed, feeling a bit dizzy again. If not for his connection with the Harvey Family, he felt he might have already been kidnapped.
He then exited the Transmission World, returning to Earth.
A distraction—that was what he needed right now.
"Eh..." He was slightly surprised when he saw a young Japanese woman in the distance, wearing long jeans and a black leather jacket, her hair tied up, looking in his direction.
Ayumi Fujiwara.
It had been a while since he last saw her, but he knew she had not left City Z.
He knew quite a lot about her. However, according to Margaret, Ayumi was trustworthy. She was the loyal type.
So far, there were indeed no signs of betrayal.
"Miss Fujiwara..." Leonardo approached and greeted her, feeling her appearance here was not a coincidence.
"How about we have coffee over there," the woman replied, glancing at a café.
"Sure..." Leonardo nodded.
They went to the café and ordered two iced milk coffees.
"Honestly, I didn’t expect your relationship with Margaret," Ayumi said.
Leonardo smiled awkwardly and replied, "I didn’t expect it either."
"You suit her very well, so there’s no need to feel insecure... Margaret is undergoing her heart surgery now and needs rest afterward. She might only wake up tomorrow. But since you seem to be in trouble, she asked me to help you. And I have to do it."
Leonardo nodded lightly upon hearing that, though he wasn’t sure what to say.
"All suspicion will be shifted to me," Ayumi continued, shocking Leonardo.
"Miss Fujiwara, are you serious? How can you do this?" he said.
Although Leonardo indeed wanted someone to take suspicion off him—not legally, but in the eyes of others—he would never do that to someone he knew.
Yet Ayumi was willing to do it.
"You don’t need to worry. I’ll return to Japan. In this world, no one dares to attack the Fujiwara Clan—not even the Association. Of course, I’ll still wait for you to open the Last Gate on Floor 1."
"But how will that work? Will people believe it?" Leonardo was still unsure.
"It’s easy to arrange. The problem is whether the scapegoat is convincing or not. That’s why only I can play that role."
"There’s one issue. You weren’t in City Z when the Last Gate appeared, so how would people believe you were the one responsible? And you’re not even a Beast Tamer."
"Who said I’m not a Beast Tamer?" she replied.
Leonardo froze in shock.
"If I weren’t a Beast Tamer, Margaret wouldn’t have been so eager to become one. She was tempted when I told her Beast Tamers are far superior to any other class. Not many know this, but I’ve been a Beast Tamer from the beginning because I awakened two classes. Yes, I also have an owl as one of my monsters, though it doesn’t have that strange lethal song. As for not being in City Z before, it actually helps—it makes people suspect I faked my arrival time."
"Why are you willing to do this?" Leonardo asked softly.
"So the key to the Last Gate stays in your hands. Alright, I have to go now. My flight is coming up. For now, it’s better if you don’t wander around outside..."
The Japanese woman stood up and walked away.
Leonardo stayed silent, his brows furrowed.
He felt conflicted and complicated, being helped by someone like this.
He sighed, finished his coffee, and lit a cigarette.
"Oh..." Suddenly, he saw Mary coming out of a portal, heading toward a black Mercedes.
Leonardo quickly followed her for a ride, arriving at the car before she did.
The woman was slightly surprised, but Leonardo immediately entered the passenger seat.
"Anderson?" Mary entered the driver’s seat with a questioning expression.
She was actually annoyed with him for refusing her request, but she wasn’t in a position to complain.
Leonardo didn’t respond verbally, only gestured with his finger for her to drive.
At that moment, Leonardo could finally choose his reward.
He began thinking about what reward to pick.
The Undead Knight Transformation somehow intrigued him.
After thinking for a moment, he wrote:
(I want the best Undead Transformation skill!)
DING!
(An SS-Class Skill, Undead King Transformation, has been added to you!)
(Undead King Transformation: grants you the ability to transform into an Undead King capable of commanding all undead!)
(Knight Talent:)
Apex Overdrive (SS Class)
(Knight Skill:)
Undead King Transformation (SS Class)
As I expected, he thought.
Something better than Undead Knight would naturally be Undead King.
But Leonardo didn’t think this was the strongest possible form. There should be something even higher, but perhaps his class wasn’t sufficient yet—maybe it required a unique Knight class.
"Anderson, where are we going?" Mary asked.
"Neptune Star Hospital," Leonardo replied.
"Oh... turn over there first!" he suddenly said upon spotting a dead-end road leading into a quiet small forest.
Mary was stunned, looking at him in disbelief.
But Leonardo remained indifferent.
Unable to refuse, Mary turned the car.
It wasn’t truly a dead end—there was a smaller dirt road covered by tree branches above.
Mary understood what the man beside her might want, so she drove further in, making sure they were completely hidden.
After the car stopped, she pressed her lips together.
She was completely normal now, only unable to refuse commands. Naturally, she felt awkward—she wasn’t used to doing such things with a man who wasn’t her boyfriend. Leonardo was truly her first.
However, her mind couldn’t help recalling the threesome in that entertainment room, a moment she had to admit was beautiful and exhilarating.
She thought it would be better if it were just the two of them—Elsa had only been a disturbance.
Before she could look at Leonardo again, he had already grabbed her hand, pulling her body toward him and forcing her to sit on his lap.
Mary’s face flushed, a flicker of amusement dancing in her eyes as Leonardo’s hand traced the curve of her thigh.
Dressed in her school uniform, the short skirt offered little coverage, leaving her legs almost entirely exposed as she sat perched on his lap.
"Wh—why?" she stammered.
"Why what?" Leonardo countered.
"Your girlfriend is much prettier than I am. Why are you still interested in me?" Mary asked.
"Men always want more," Leonardo replied smoothly. "We crave different sensations."
His other hand slipped beneath her shirt, sliding upward toward her chest. She didn’t pull away; they had crossed this line before.
"Ohhh..."
A soft moan escaped her lips.
"Margaret would kill me if she found out," she whispered.
"If she found out, I’d be just as worried about my own neck," Leonardo joked, his fingers deftly undoing the buttons of her blouse. Mary looked flustered, the heat rising in her cheeks, but her desire was unmistakable.
There was a twisted thrill in this for her. Sleeping with Leonardo meant claiming something that belonged to Margaret—the woman who had always been the source of her envy and resentment.
*So what if you’re better or more beautiful?* she thought. *Your boyfriend is still in bed with me.*
That realization sent a surge of adrenaline through her. As her blouse fell open, she reached out to help pull Leonardo’s shirt over his head. He wrapped his arms around her waist, pulling her close until their lips met in a heated crush.
Any lingering shame vanished. The sheer physicality of him was intoxicating. She ran her hands across his chest, her breath hitching as their tongues locked.
Behind her back, Leonardo’s fingers found the clasp of her bra. With a practiced flick, it fell away, removing the last barrier between them. Mary clung to him, leaning into the friction of their skin.
She reached for the lever on the side of the seat, reclining it until it flattened against the rear bench, then pressed herself down against him. Her fingers fumbled with his belt while his hand slid beneath her skirt, finding its way past her underwear.
"Oohh..." She couldn’t help but gasp as his touch reached her most private places.
Leonardo’s other hand began shucking the skirt down her hips. In the cramped confines of the car, movement was a struggle, but the skirt eventually pooled around her ankles.
Leonardo finally kicked off his own trousers and shifted his weight, flipping their positions so that Mary was pinned beneath him. She bit her lip, a momentary wave of bashfulness returning, but she made no move to stop him as he gently urged her legs apart.
