Chapter 975: Emergency Meeting at the Guild

The day before the emergency mission.

I was like usual resting in Robby’s house. And because I’m in the middle of recovering, they didn’t give me permission to buy some boozes.

Even the guy who healed me took al my money and said that other than for food, he will not give me my money back until I recovered. In a way, it’s their way of worrying about Robby.

He will return the money, subtracted by the fee of him healing me, before the emergency mission.

Since I was told not to get drunk, there’s nothing for me to do. So I walk around the city normally under the watch of the master level earth mage.

Yesterday, the day when I just returned home with bruises and burnt mark on my body, the two spies also returned to the city. It was after that master level earth mage leaving the place for a while.

Seems like they were told to stay here no matter what. And they lied by saying that there’s not enough supply for them to leave the city and go to another city. So they were forced to stay here.

They were still allowed to stay in the previous inn they stayed. But because that inn has hunters mostly as its customers, they have heard the news of those two tried to sacrifice an alcoholic man to save themselves. They were not treated kindly by other customers.

So they have two choices. One is to move to a cheaper inn where no hunters like to stay, or move to a more expensive one where they can stay in their room without interacting with other hunters. And they picked the cheap one near the slum.

I heard that they got themselves robbed last night. Well, it was near the slum after all.

Even though there’s a slum and the crime rates near that place is high, everyone is secret agent. So it’s just not safe for strangers.

For us though, it’s extremely safe even if those thugs came out with knife and rob a store. Because it’s all just an act.

It acted as normal city after all. With guards and robbers. But everyone is acting.

About those two who got their belonging stolen, apparently, there’s nothing important inside them. something that will lead us to the cult. But at least the robbers got their money.

Obviously, if they asked the master level earth mage, they can find the robbers easily and took back their belonging. But the master level earth mage didn’t seem like she’s going to help at all.

Right now, I’m inside a cafe near the guild. Those two entered the guild and tried to get a job. But the hunters inside the guild tried to bother them all the time. Though they got their job in the end.

It was funny. And I think everyone enjoyed bullying them so much.

When else can you bully members of the cult? The people here are pretty happy doing it.

I also went to the guild to ask the healer to give me some money for meal. That’s why I’m leaving the house today.

The guild staff is busy today. Or act like they’re busy at least. Busy planning of tomorrow’s emergency quest.

Not everyone is strong. But if everyone still participate in the mission, won’t it be overkill? We’re way too strong if everyone joined after all.

There’s really nothing for me to do. Just resting. But I can watch what happened near me using Divine Vision.

So when the two spies returned after their quest, I enjoyed watching them being bullied.

When those two tried to get some meal, they were treated rudely by the shop owners because even they have heard of what those two did to me.

Like I said. Although no one here like me, I have never bothered anyone. But for those two who tried to kill someone they just met not long ago, they are horrible people.

Then when the sun started to set and everyone returned back to the city after their job, the Hunter Card in my pocket started giving a signal. A signal for all hunters to go to the guild.

The last time it happened was when Melk was attacked by orc. Also, it was my first time being a clown.

And again, this time, it was because of orcs.

The guild might not be fake, but there’s still a mechanism where the guild can give emergency signal to all who have hunter card to go to the guild. I think some of the fake guild staffs were real guild staffs. Or maybe they became real guild staffs for their previous job, so they’re already know what to do in case of emergency.

Seems like for this mission, the kings even asked the guild for help.

By the way, is there anyone who is above the guild master? Like the real president of the guild or something? After all, the guild is connected to each other. There must be someone like that.

Maybe I have met them but I didn’t care. Well, if it’s important, Albert or the other kings will introduce that person to me.

Maybe the kings still want to protect my identity from the guild. Because of how easy it is even for members of the cult to infiltrate the guild.

Well, that’s not my problem now. For now, let’s go to the guild.

"Thanks to Robby, we got a report that there’s an orc’s nest nearby. It has grown quite huge so we have to take care of it. Robby has informed us the size and how many orcs were there. There are many orc variants including orc wizard, orc warrior, and we can assume that the leader of them all is an orc king at least. Or maybe even an orc emperor. Before they grow even bigger and stronger, we will take care of them. Except for those who will stay here for the defense of the city, the rest will go to the nest. Robby will guide you there," the guild master said.

As soon as everyone is in the guild, the guild master told us what happened. Some acted like they were surprised.

The guild is packed. To the point where everyone can only stand since all the seats have been taken. As for the two spies, they were forced to be in a crowded place.

As for me, since the report was thanks to me, I’m free from being cramped as I stood next to the guild master and the receptionist.

"It’s just orcs. We’ll take care of them. Unlike some people who were unable to do so and tried to sacrifice someone for it."

"So, what’s the plan?" someone asked.

"From here, I will explain the plan," the receptionist stepped forward.

The plan is not important to me. I will just go there to as the guide. I won’t be fighting. Maybe.

My real job is to watch over the two spies and see if the master level earth mage will follow us for the mission.

But because of what happened, I won’t be put in a team with them. So I had to watch them from afar. Joining another team who will be responsible for the support since I’m not that good at being the vanguard. At least Robby was.

I will be put on standby together with the healer who had just healed me. While the two spies will fight the orcs.

If possible, we want those two spies to die when they face the orcs. If that happened, there’s the master level earth mage will be the only person we have to be wary of.

"Alright. That’s the plan. If something goes wrong, you will have to depend on yourself. As long as you don’t use inhuman tactics, everything will be fine," the receptionist said.

When she said about inhuman tactic, everyone looked at the two spies. They knew what she meant. And it was about those two trying to sacrifice me.

"What will be the reward?" someone asked.

"We even have participation reward even for those who stay here for the security of this city.You don’t have to worry about it," the guild master said.

"Will we get our rank raised after the mission?" someone asked jokingly.

"Of course for those who have enough achievement, their rank will be raised if they get more achievement in this mission. If not, there’s no raise," the guild master said.

After some more questions, there’s no one else who have anything to ask. So it’s time to disperse.

"If that’s all, then go home and get some rest. You will leave at dawn. So get yourself ready," the guild master said.

Well, it’s time to go home and get some sleep. Though I did try to grab some beer from the guild. But the receptionist found out about it and stopped me from stealing them.

The result for tomorrow’s mission is obvious. We will win.

But the question will be whether those two spies will die or not. Or will the master level earth mage come watch us.
