Chapter 971: They’re Spying on Robby

’So, you won’t return home right away?’

Victoria asked me via telepathy. Even though this city should be a place where everyone is our ally.

We can’t speak normally now. After all, someone is suspicious of Robby being the Aura user. The plan is finally started moving forward. Though I need to continue to pretend that I’m not that Aura user at all.

After all, the people from the cult who are investigating about the Aura user must have been told about how powerful an Aura user was in the past. So if they want to investigate me, they have to watch over me for a long time. Because I can easily tell when someone is stalking me. Even when I’m not using Divine Vision.

’Seems like it will be hard to return home anytime soon. It will be obvious if I opened up a portal since they can sense it. But if I playing with my phone, it should be fine since they won’t notice it as long as I’m inside Robby’s house,’ I said to Victoria via telepathy.

So I just texted Lina that I can’t return home anytime soon. I also told Albert what happened. Now, if there’s something happened, I won’t be able to move.

Unless it’s really an emergency and I have to come. When that happened, I don’t have to hide the secret that I can open up a portal. And the people who are investigating me will find out that I am most likely to be the Aura user they were looking for.

Well, with how much master level mages we have now, I don’t think it will be a big problem anytime soon. Unless the cult have already prepared a big move right away.

My guess is that they are trying to investigate everyone with the characteristic of the Aura user that the Archbishop informed before I caught him. So the cult will probably make their big move when they have found everyone with similar characteristic.

And one of them probably the real me. Roy who lives in Cassau. And I’m also the closest man to Angela and Kayla. So maybe they will put someone to watch over me.

But I don’t have to worry about it. After all, Jewel and Candy live in Cassau. So it will be normal that anyone suspicious will be arrested. So my home is already well-protected.

Then I also looked at the ground. And as expected, there’s someone waiting there. Not directly under Robby’s house, but it is still suspicious. I was just lucky that I didn’t look at her in the eye.

"There’s no one nearby, but this place is being watched. Even from underground. It’s quite far, so I guess that she’s a master level earth mage. She should be powerful enough to destroy this entire city if she took her time," I said.

’Then I’ll just talk to you via telepathy. I’ll also contact the receptionist here about the person you saw. You can tell Albert,’ Victoria said.

As usual, she entered my pocket where her phone was and used it. While I used my own phone.

Now that we knew that there’s an earth mage watching us, I need to act like an alcoholic.

I’m not one, but ever since I learned to use Divine Vision, I have seen what an average alcoholic would do.

There are variations, but I picked the one who doesn’t move a lot. The one who only sleep and drink. And just sometime, he went to the toilet.

And so I do that. I just drink and then I slept. On the floor. Because that’s what the drunk man I copied do.

And so, there’s nothing else for me to do. Except for acting drunk.

It has been a whole day since that Ronald guy met me. And I have been acting like an alcoholic the whole time.

Maybe it’s because I’m an Aura Master, but I just can’t get drunk at all. So it was extremely boring.

By the way, that Ronald guy was staying at an inn near the fake guild. And he also took a quest today from the guild. Is he planning to stay there until they found out if I’m the Aura user they’re looking for? Maybe.

As for the woman under the ground, she has been staying in the same position the whole day. Even when I went to the toilet and move for another drink, she’s staying there.

There’s really nothing for me to do. I wish I could finish all these booze so I could leave again. Being watched the whole time is annoying. It’s good that the pay for the previous quest wasn’t much. That way, I could only buy fewer booze. Though it will take another day to empty them.

I guess I will take another quest in two days.

The next day, I heard the news that there are more attacks from the cult. And one of them is quite close to this place. I guess they really want to see if Robby is the Aura user they’re looking for.

Though I didn’t have to do anything. Apparently, there’s a master level mage in a nearby city who took care of the problem along with the army.

I heard that he’s a master level earth mage. So if he can come here, he will find the earth mage who is hiding under the ground.

Which means that the more they attack, the more likely that they will find the hiding earth mage and I can finally be free.

Well, not really free since there are still Ronald and other spies in the city. But at least I can have easier time moving around.

It’s finally the day for Robby to work again. I’ll get a job that will force me to move further from the city to get away from the master level earth mage this time.

"Why is it so far? Can’t you just get other hunters to do it?" I complained.

"For some reason, there are more hunters coming for a quest.They took the quests of getting rid of the monsters near the city. So we no longer have any mission for those monsters. And you have no choice but to go a bit further," the receptionist said.

"Sigh... maybe I should have move from this city," I said.

"Do you think there’s any other guild who will give an alcoholic guy like you a job like in this city? They won’t. If you have any complain, you should get rid of your drinking tendency first," the receptionist said.

Though I don’t really have any intention of moving to another city. After all, moving away will more likely for me to meet someone who knew the real Robby. And my disguise will be revealed if that’s the case.

I just complained for acting purpose. We’re all amazing actors and actresses after all. Even the spies from the cult.

And so I left to do the quest given to me. I had to keep moving until it started to get dark.

The earth mage didn’t follow me. But Ronald and another guy he partied with were following me. They should have been taken a quest that will lead them to another part of the forest. But they didn’t bother to do it.

What should I do? Should I kill them?

My job this time is to scout an orc settlement that the fake guild discovered. There’s a settlement because we let them be. If there’s a real guild in the city, the orcs would have been eliminated regularly and there won’t be any orc or other monsters’ settlement nearby.

I guess I can just do it this way. I will scout the settlement, and accidentally got found out by the orcs. As I tried to escape, I will bump into that Ronald guy and let him and the other guy get hurt by the orcs who will be chasing after me.

If they stopped hiding their power and fight the orcs, then I can pretend to be afraid of them and escape. Though if they tried to kill me, I guess it’s over. Since I will kill them.

Finally, I reached where the orc settlement was. It kind of remind me of the time that Kron and us working together for the first time. This time, just one of us can get rid of everything.

We have grown so much since then.
