Chapter 961: First Day of Undercover Mission as Robby

"So this is where I, Robby, will live," I said.

Everyone has prepared a fake city for us to ambush the cult. And that city is here, a city still under Consenza’s rule.

So I will pretend that I’m a resident of Consenza. Taking fake requests from fake Hunter Guild, where fake Guild Staffs were working, and wait until the cult appeared.

Though they won’t just come out of nowhere. We will bait them here slowly.

Whenever there’s a skirmishes near this place, it will be my job to stop it as an Aura user. This way, the cult will think that I live near the place the skirmishes happened.

They prepared a small house for me. But I won’t really live there. That house will just be for me to come and go using portal.

From what we expect the cult to know, we don’t think that they cult realized that I can open up a portal to anywhere that I have marked using Victoria’s clones, the Blobbies. They should only know that I can only open a portal to where any of my five familiars should be, and to the Monsters World.

Wait, I forgot! They should have known already.

Back when I jumped from the cliff, I opened three portals right in front of Shelia, Graham, and Crabbe to the Blobbybullet I shot inside the portal that the Archbishop opened. So he should have informed it to the Evil God.

Well, even if that’s the case, we still have to bait the cult to only attack one place. This place in Consenza which was quite far from the capital. And this place where there’s no more civilians living there. Everyone is with the army.

Now, we just need to wait until there’s a battle nearby. Though the latest report said that the last battle happened far in Arturo. I guess it will take time until they appeared here.

Another reason we picked Consenza was because the facility where we found the Archbishop back then was in the valley in the west side of Consenza. Because I was there, it won’t be surprising if I lived there, right?

"Is everyone really from the army?" I asked Claudia.

"Yes. Most are from Consenza, while some from other countries. For those who were originally living in Consenza, they can act as the guards of the city or the residents. But for those coming from outside of Consenza, they can act as hunters who are making a stop in this city," Claudia said.

"What if the plan doesn’t work?" I asked.

"Then we will depend on everyone’s improvisation. Especially you. Whatever the case, the cult already know that most of the countries have created an alliance to fight against them. So I think they will most likely attack another big city like the capital of a country again. This place is just in case they focused more on looking for the Aura user instead of destroying the country," Claudia said.

But that doesn’t mean that they will only look for me.

"What if once they found me in this city, they prepared multiple big attacks at the same time? Don’t you think that it’s too soon since the others haven’t reached master level yet?" I asked.

It has been a while since I sent those people to the Spirit Mountain. But there’s no report of anyone reaching master level yet.

If we want to bait the cult to attack a city, then I’d like to suggest that we do it later once we have more master level mages.

"I understand what you’re thinking, but it’s also important to show everyone that Robby lives here. Just take a mission once in a while," Claudia said.

"I see. So you just want me to tell everyone that Robby lives here. Then once more people returned as master level mages, we will be ready to face the cult again," I said.

"That’s right. You don’t need to worry about your magic being sensed. Because everyone who lives near Robby’s home will be protecting you. They will make sure that no one will get near your house other than those we already knew,"" Claudia said.

So I’m free to come and go using portal if it’s in Robby’s house. And since the surrounding area will be protected, then I don’t have to worry about anyone else sensing my portal.

So I can just come here once in a while, then most of the time, I will be in Cassau or another place.

I think it’s a good idea for Robby to not take too many missions. Then I can just leave this place to the Monsters World and play tag with everyone there.

"How often do you think Robby will take mission from the guild?" I asked Claudia.

"The real Robby who died would only take mission about once a week. He only has enough money to barely make a living. And he spends most of them drinking. It will be fine as long as you brought several bottles of alcoholic beverages to Robby’s house," Claudia said as she checked the document on her hand about the real Robby who died.

I can’t believe that the kings just agreed to use someone who was dead. Isn’t that disrespectful?

Though I understand the urgency of the matter. Also, if we just make up a new character out of nowhere, that will be way too suspicious. And there will be a lot of holes in that plan. So they considered using a real hunter who died.

Now I just need to put on fake beard and I will look like him. Is that really the case though?

"Do I really look like him now?" I asked Claudia.

"No one ever seen his face without the beard, so I think you will be fine," Claudia said.

"Okay. Anything else I should know?" I asked.

"Don’t forget that you are not alowed to have prosthetic right hand since we need the cult to think that Robby is the Aura user who got his hand severed. As for magic, no one ever see him using magic since he mostly work alone. So I think you will be fine," Claudia said.

Soon after she said that, I got Victoria to leave my right hand. Now it’s empty again.

I have gotten the hang of it. There’s not much difference than when I’m using my real hand. Except for the fact that I couldn’t feel anything through the prosthetic limb. But it’s useful nonetheless.

Although it’s more useful than my real hand, I still miss my right hand. I can’t wait for Kayla to reach master level in her healing element and regenerate my lost hand back.

After that, I brought Claudia back to the capital. Now I’m alone and I walk to the guild to get a mission.

"Welcome, Robby. I heard that you lost a hand after a mission.. I guess it’s true," the receptionist said.

What a great acting. Everyone here should know that I’m not Robbie. But I guess it’s to be expected if we want to trick the cult.

"Don’t mind it. I’m here to take a quest. Give me one with good reward," I said.

That’s how Robby’s personality was according to investigation. He’s such a loner.

I wonder what happened to the real Robbie to live this way. I’m sure that there’s a reason why he became like this. Though I don’t think I can find out about it at all. So it’s best to just forget it.

"Sigh... you’re just like usual. Here, an easy mission for you that pays well. Do you think you can do it with only one hand?" the receptionist asked.

"You don’t need to care. You just need to give me the mission," I said.

"So unsociable like usual. Whatever. Just complete the mission already," she said.

The quest is just to subjugate some goblins. I guess for someone who only drinks, he doesn’t need a job that pays him much. All the money he got was only to fill his body with alcohol anyway.

It took me only five minutes to complete the quest. But I stayed a lot longer in the forest because the real Robby shouldn’t be able to finish a mission that soon.

Although it should be fine since Robby was supposed to be the Aura user the cult was looking, it’s best if Robby just act like a powerless hunter like usual. Also, we can’t really tell everyone that the Aura user is here too soon anyway.

After a while, I returned to the guild and gave the proof of subjugation to the receptionist. Then I returned to Robby’s home after buying some beverages.

I prefer food over drink. So I don’t think I will drink them. But I need to show the people here empty bottles once in a while.

It’s hard. Doing undercover mission is annoying. But at least I’m done for the week. I can just go back to the guild next week.

As for the beverages, I can just give them to someone later.

Next week, I will return to Robby’s house with empty bottles.
