Chapter 936: Ray’s Limit
Chapter 936: Ray’s Limit
I returned to the valley. They have the most number of master level mages here than in other places. Because I caged them inside a barrier before I left this place before.
For now, let’s observe the situation.
Victoria and Ray were still together. Well, Victoria will be weak if she’s away from Ray. She’s still in her armored form making everyone thinks that she’s a living armor. Though it means that the enemies were smart enough to know that she’s not an Aura user.
Victoria only use Aura when she’s attacking someone. So no one noticed it.
Then there’s Angela, Kayla, Jewel, Shirley, and the others here. The usual group who are not busy in another location. They are doing well along with everyone else I brought here.
The vampires especially, they fought the enemies without even having any casualties. And since the enemies were master level mages, the vampires would just drunk their blood when they’re tired or injured, and they will recover almost instantly. They must have contributed a lot here. It’s great that I got them to fight here instead of in another location.
There were some casualties from the army I brought as reinforcement. But they are fighting really well.
I tried to check the facility inside the valley, but my Divine Vision can’t see that far. I guess the mana there was so thick.
But with so many people here? That makes it suspicious.
Usually, even inside a dungeon, I can see well with Divine Vision if that dungeon has often been explored by people. Making the mana in the air thinner so my Divine Vision can see the inside normally.
But this place should be used by the cult. They even had many master level mages gathering here. But I still can’t see inside the facility. Which means that there’s a secret in that place which makes that facility able to leak mana so that no detection magic, or even my Divine Vision, can detect what’s inside .
Which means that I can’t tell where Sonia is. She should be inside investigating that place on her own. I hope she’s okay.
Maybe I should check on her. I still have some of Sonia’s soil even though we now use the phone as our main way of communication. So I tapped the place where I put those soil at.
"Hmm? She’s not coming?"
It’s weird. Usually, when I tapped the soil, she would appear almost instantly unless there’s another important thing for her to do. And I don’t think there’s anything for her to do other than investigating that place.
Which means that she’s probably in danger. I hope she’s still alive so I can save her.
Hmm? Ghosts are alive? Should I say exist then? And if a ghost die, then should I say that the ghost disappeared instead?
Damn, this is confusing. I’ll just say that she’s alive as a monster. Not a human.
I need to save her. But it’s impossible to get through that place without being seen.
Then, I’ll just have to hope that she’s okay while I help the others.
And so, I joined the battle in the valley.
I need to kill as many as possible while preserving my stamina and mana. Because I don’t know if the Evil God is here or not. I forgot to ask the Archbishop before coming here.
And whether the Archbishop told if the Evil God was here or not, what if the Evil God has another summoner subordinate near him to transport him away when he’s in danger? What if the Evil God himself was a summoner?
Too many things I don’t know. But this is the closest we’ve ever been to our goal. To kill the Evil God and destroy the cult. So we can only move forward.
With only the sword on my left as the cane was hanging on my waist, I swiftly approached the enemy one by one and kill them. They were busy fighting the others, so I could exploit that moment of weakness and kill them without having them notice me.
And only after I killed dozens of them, Kayla noticed that I have arrived.
"He’s finally here..."
Her eyes were not looking at me. They’re looking at my missing right hand. As I thought, it’s impossible to hide it.
Hearing Kayla said something, the others looked over and saw me. And then they also saw my missing right hand.
"R—"
"Don’t call his name! We can’t let the cult knows about his identity!" Kayla shouted to interrupt Angela who was about to call my name.
She’s smart as usual. She knows what we need to do. Though she looks angry right now.
’Hey, you lost your hand? Why don’t you use my clones as substitute for your hand? For you, they will be the best prosthetic limb,’ Victoria asked me via telepathy.
’To let the cult thinks that I got weaker after the Archbishop cut off my dominant hand. Focus on the battle for now. We’re in a hurry,’ I replied to Victoria.
’Hurry for what? Is the Evil God here?’ Victoria asked.
’I hope that’s the case. Because if the Evil God is not here, then the cult will make their next big attack soon. I’ll tell you everything later after we finish with everything here,’ I said.
It’s my fault that the cult will attack again soon after this one since the Evil God learned that I lost my right hand. Knowing that I got weaker, they will not let my hand regenerate. So they will attack again soon.
This way, even if I still get a master level healer to regenerate my missing limb, it will take even longer than the normal duration of when the master level healer regenerate a lost limb. Let’s say from five years, it could take ten years or even longer.
Since I’m the only Aura user in the world, though I’m an Aura Master now, and I’m the strongest force in our alliance, just stopping me alone can help the cult by a lot.
So, my only choice is to be patient in healing my lost hand. Letting Kayla and other healers to slowly regenerate my lost hand while I use Blobbies as prosthetic hand when fighting. But that’s for later.
Maybe if the Evil God thinks that I got my hand healed so quickly, he will stop the attack because it would be useless. But for now, it’s best to let the Evil God knows that I really lost my right hand. At least that’s what the others told me before I went to this valley.
Because if they think that there’s really a healer who can instantly regenerate my hand, then the target will change. And all the healers we have will be the target. Including Kayla and the angels.
...It means that they had no problem in me becoming the cult’s target alone.
Sometimes, I hate my own allies. But if they think that it’s for the good of everyone, and none of them disagree with it, then I guess it’s really for the good of everyone.
’Roy, we have a trouble.’
After fighting for a bit longer, Victoria said that we had some trouble via telepthy.
’What trouble?’ I asked back.
’Seems like We found out Ray’s limit. Soon, he won’t be able to lend me Aura or even mana anymore,’ Victoria said.
Ray’s limit? I guess they exist.
It means that both Victoria and Ray won’t be able to fight for much longer anymore.
Victoria should still be fine, but if she can’t use the Aura that she borrowed from Ray, then she will be useless in the face of all these master level mages.
’Then let’s retreat for now. I’ll take you to where Albert and the others are so you can relay their message to me via telepathy,’ I said.
’You don’t want me to help you?’ Victoria asked.
’The cult would never imagine that you are a Black Slime that can create clones or shapeshift into any form you want. So you are actually my secret weapon. Unless it’s an emergency or we’re facing the Evil God, I won’t use you yet,’ I said.
’I understand. Let’s leave right away.’
"Everyone! Don’t stop fighting!" I shouted before retreating with Victoria and Ray.
Thanks to me coming here, there are more enemies killed. So when we retreated, even when some of the enemies chasing after us, our allies could block them from chasing us.
After getting far enough, I opened a portal for them both to go to Albert’s location.
"Use Victoria to relay a message to me if needed. Also this time, don’t be shocked if I lost another limb. Though I have no plan for that. Just keep calm and observe the situation," I said.
I still have the camera attached to the chest part of my clothes. So they can still watch and hear everything from my point of view.
"Don’t worry. If I see you face another strong opponent, I will have Victoria relay a plan to make sure that you will not lose anything. Go back out there and fight!" Sunglasses said.
I guess he realized his mistake to not figure that the cult might be planning for another attack soon thanks to getting rid of my hand. He looks more serious than before.
Now, let’s continue fighting.
