Chapter 933: He’s Sending Information in Real Time
Chapter 933: He’s Sending Information in Real Time
Both Shelia and I were still under the ground. Hugging each other in the small hole we dug because the fire created by someone.
The fire was too strong for even the water mages inside the dome to extinguish. Well, the water mages are weak. Much weaker than Carmen. Seems like they have no desire to improve their water element.
As the fire keep burning more mages, some earth mages who noticed us hide underground also do the same. But they actually tried to go to where we were while underground.
It will be impossible for Shelia and I to fight underground. So I need to get out of here.
’Shelia, we will leave this hole soon. I will use my long-distance slash toward that direction to open up a path for you. Go through that path and destroy the wall. There’s no more earth mages reinforcing the wall right now,’ I said via telepathy to Shelia.
Shelia just nodded. Now we’re ready to come up to the surface. But not now. I’m waiting for the earth mages digging their way to where we are to get closer.
Now that they have gotten closer, it’s time to leave.
’Shelia, it’s time.’
I jumped from the hole to the surface, then I swung my sword toward where Veronica, Cooldra, and the others were fighting the Archbishop outside the dome. There have been several casualties on our side. But I don’t have to mourn for them. They have prepared to risk their lives in this mission.
My slash cut through the fire and opened a path to the wall of the dome where Shelia quickly run over there and with her wolf form, charged through the wall to make an opening. And I ran after her right behind her.
I can make the fire disappear by making the gases around the fire to not be flammable. But that will waste my mana. That’s why I decided to go with this plan.
As soon as I left the dome, I rushed toward the Archbishop as he was about to kill Cooldra.
That’s right. Kill the dragon. He could do that.
He’s a master level wind mage, a master level earth mage, and he’s at least an advanced level summoner. Could be expert or even master level summoner though. But that’s not all as he has four elements.
The last element was lightning element. Which he was about use the moment before I left the dome.
During the whole fight inside the dome, I always observed him as he killed our mages. And I could see that some times, there were signs of lightning around him. But it’s too small for others to notice. Not even Veronica who was a master level mage. So I’m sure that he hid that element and intended to use it as his secret weapon against us.
And I was right. Unable to pierce through Cooldra’s scales with his wind or earth magic, he tried to use lightning magic now to kill Cooldra.
Unfortunately for me, it’s impossible to stop him from casting that lightning magic. Because cooldra was between us. So I decided to get Cooldra away to avoid that lightning.
...By kicking him away from there.
Rather than kicking, it was more like pushing Cooldra away with my feet.
As I rushed to his back, I leaped forward and landed on his back before I used my feet to push Cooldra away from the target range of the Archishop’s lightning magic. As for me, I used Cooldra’s back to jump away from the lightning strike. Which makes neither of us got hit.
Cooldra was confused at first, but when he looked back and heard that lightning struck the ground, he realized my intention..
"Thanks, R—"
"GRAAAAAWWRRR!! I will capture you and make you confess everything!" I roared weirdly. It’s because I don’t want Cooldra to leak my real name. There’s a reason why I put on an armor that covers my whole body and face after all.
"What’s wrong, R—," Cooldra about to call my name again, but I interrupted again.
"YOU WILL REGRET YOUR DECISION TO JOIN THE CULT!" I shouted to the Archbishop.
"You’re being weird, R—,"
"Shut up! I’m being weird because you tried to call my real name! I’m trying to hide my identity, so just don’t call my name at all!"
This time, I shouted at Cooldra. I shouldn’t have brought him with me if I know that he would be so insensitive. Well, it might be my fault that I haven’t told him yet about it.
"Cooldra, you can fight the others if you want. He’s too strong. I think it’s best if I take care of him on my own," I said.
"Alright. You said that you wanted to capture him, right? So it will be fine if I kill the rest?" Cooldra asked.
"Yes, you are free to kill the rest. Shelia, you too. Just don’t overdo it," I said to Shelia who was already behind me.
"I’m not too keen on capturing enemies. I’ll do just that," Shelia said as she went off to another battlefield.
Asking Shelia to capture a strong enemy is impossible. Because she couldn’t control her strength and might kill the enemy instead. So it’s best for her to target other enemies.
The same could be said to Cooldra as well. So it’s just Veronica and I who will be fighting the Archbishop.
Two against one. I have the Magic Restricting Collar prepared in my pocket, and he’s holding the Aura blocking staff in his hand. Seems like his intention is to face me with the staff while blocking Veronica with magic.
"How did you notice that I can use lightning magic?" the Archbishop asked.
"Why did you think no one will notice?" I asked back instead.
And then, Veronica made a surprise attack toward the Archbishop. But the Archbishop could block it with his earth element.
And before he even cast his earth magic to block Veronica’s attack, I already made my move and swung down my sword. But the Archbishop was still fast enough to block my slash with the staff.
Except that my target is not his body. But his fingers that are gripping on his staff.
Soon after he blocked my sword, I shifted the position of the blade and swing it along the staff. Even if I don’t use Aura, the blade of my sword is sharp enough to cut down the fingers of a master level mage.
But he was able to react quickly as he let go of the hand holding the staff, and the grab it with his other hand that was aiming at Veronica.
He’s fast. He has experience. Even if I’m stronger than him, it would be difficult to even harm him.
He’s still fine after fighting for so long. Except for his mana, I guess.
"Why don’t you summon your other familiar? Are you perhaps just an advanced level summoner? Or is it that you won’t summon it no matter what because you’re using it as your escape path?" I asked.
"Why should I tell you about my secret? You don’t even want me to know your name," he replied.
To be safe, I have to knock him out and put the Magic Restricting Collar on him. Because if I don’t, then he can escape anytime he wants.
Hmm... he should be closest to the Evil God. Both Veronica and Celestine told us about how there’s always a special kind of door around the Archbishop wherever they move their base to.
What if there’s a monster that can transport people over? And what if that door is actually a monster.
"Hey, you must have another familiar, right? This one should be closest to that damned Evil God is. And you’re also communicating with that monster via telepathy right now so that monster can inform everything that happened to the Evil God. Am I right?"
It’s just a guess, but it should be the case. Even if this monster was not the door, there should be a monster like that.
"He’s not the Evil God! He’s our True God! The one who will bring the world to the real salvation it needed!" the Archbishop shouted.
That’s what he complained about? Also, the fact that he didn’t deny what I said could mean that he confirmed it. Even if I don’t have lie detection skill, I could see his heart beat faster when I said about the monster he’s communicating with. My guess is that I’m right.
"I see. So the reason you haven’t escaped yet was because that Evil God told you to fight me for as long as possible and to report him everything you learned about me in this fight, correct? Then another guess of mine is that once you lose, the Evil God told you to never say anything about him once we interrogated you. I guess even the Evil God believes that you won’t be able to do anything to me," I said.
"Stop calling him the Evil God! He’s the True God!"
I guess it’s impossible to talk to him anymore. Let’s just capture him as fast as possible.
