Chapter 930: Cooldra Joins the Battle

Chapter 930: Cooldra Joins the Battle

Riding on the Cooldra, I entered the portal where Shelia is. Though I know that she will be the closest to the battle, so it’s not her direct location where I transported to. It’s to a Blobby I left behind before I left this place.

Seems like the battlefield has moved somewhere else as it’s quiet in the place I opened a portal to. I can see Veronica is facing the Archbishop while Shelia just killed as many as possible.

The werewolves were also fighting the mages. The werewolves were cooperating together because they knew that the enemies were too strong for them.

That’s obvious since the enemies were master level mages. And there are still hundreds of them here. Even after I brought reinforcements, they are still stronger than us as we don’t have many master level mages here.

I can see them started fighting around the floating island I brought here before.

The earth mages carried by the wind mages or just rode their flying horses to the floating island. Then they started reinforced the floating island and make it into a castle in the sky.

Each time the wall of the castle got destroyed, they rebuilt it as quickly as possible. The same happened in other floating islands I can see as well.

Seems like they use the floating islands really well. It’s a nice idea that we have the floating islands.

Some werewolves and angels also helped around the floating islands. Though most of them stayed on the ground. Not the ground of the floating island though. After all, there are still many of the enemies who can’t fly.

Spot and his children were helping here as well. Well, Spot is the strongest monster we have other than my familiars and Andro. He’s here because this place is where there are most enemies other than in the valley.

Though in the valley, it will be a few minutes until the barrier’s duration is over. But our strongest force we could send were already there. At least until I captured the Archbishop, they can handle themselves.

"Cooldra, let’s help them," I said to the dragon I’m riding.

"Alright. Which side should I help?" Cooldra asked.

Oh, shit. I guess it’s good that I only brought Cooldra to the battle. Because if it’s the whole dragon tribe, then I have to explain everything.

"Remember purple. Anyone who wore purple cloth around their person is our allies. The others are not," I said.

"What is purple?" Cooldra asked.

We start from there?! Shit.

Be patient, Roy. He and the entire dragons will be a huge help for you after this. Just be patient.

"You remember the flower that the elves grow around the place where I met you before? That place was surrounded by flowers with the color purple on their petals. That’s purple. And the people who wore cloth with the color purple, they are our allies. It could be a headband, a bandana, or an armband," I said.

"I see. So like that person, that person, and that werewolf. They wore purple, right?" Cooldra asked.

"Right. They are our allies," I said.

I think I regretted that I gave him the name Cooldra. He’s not cool at all. Though he’s cold since he’s an ice dragon.

Well, it’s just his first battle with us. Maybe in the future, it won’t be so anymore.

As I continued observing the situation while teaching Cooldra about other things, Spot approached us.

"Roy. New ride?" Spot asked me.

"You’re better in fighting on your own and lead your children in a war rather than be my ride. And Ray is busy together with Victoria. This is also to introduce the dragon about our war. Though I only brought one for now. While the other dragons, I got them to move the floating islands before," I said.

"I see. Ice Dragon, the more you fight, the stronger you will be. Maybe if you want, I will accept your challenge one day and fight in the Colosseum like the werewolves and the others," Spot said.

Is that his way to motivate the dragon? I think that worked though. Cooldra seems to be more excited now.

"Then after I gained enough strength, I will try to fight you one day. I want to see how strong the gap is between a dragon and a serpent," Cooldra said.

"Anytime you want. For now, let’s help Roy with this battle," Spot said before going somewhere.

I think it’s time for me to help Veronica. She might be better than the Archbishop in wind magic. But the Archbishop also has earth magic. And we also don’t know if the Archbishop still has other familiars or not even after we killed three of them.

Even if he doesn’t have anymore familiar, he’s still a summoner. He can still summon a random familiar to make a contract with anytime he wants. Though that doesn’t guarantee the monster’s strength.

"Cooldra, let’s go there and help my friend over there. The guy she’s fighting is someone important to the enemy and we need to capture him," I said.

But Cooldra didn’t move at all. He’s just flying while looking at where the fight is.

He doesn’t have Divine Vision obviously. But I don’t know how well he can see from this far.

"...Roy, I have something to ask you," Cooldra said.

"Ask away."

"I have told you that I’m the son of the Ice Dragon King, right? Although my race is just a normal Ice Dragon, I’m still his son," Cooldra said.

"What about it?"

"I’ve been staying in your village for a while and learned many things. Including how you killed my father and set him free from the humans who took control of his will. I’m going to ask you this one thing. Is the enemy we’re fighting the one who took control of my father?" Cooldra asked.

He’s the son of the Ice Dragon King. One of the four Dragon Kings who asked me to kill them because he didn’t want to be under someone else’s control. I guess he wanted revenge for his father.

"That’s right. Though we still haven’t found the leader of the organization who forced your father to do something against his will, the enemies we’re fighting here are related to that organization. And our war is against that organization. Until only one of us remaining," I replied honestly to the Ice Dragon.

"I see. I didn’t know much because everyone in the village doesn’t care about who they’re fighting. So I don’t know the full story. But if we inform the other dragons about this, then I’m sure all the other dragons will help," Cooldra said.

"Then can I ask you to inform them? Seems like the dragons trust you," I said.

"Sure. Now, let’s go and kill the people responsible for the death of my father!" Cooldra said as he started flying toward the Archbishop.

"...We’re going to capture that one though. But for the others, you are free to kill them," I said.

Though I don’t think that Cooldra could even hear what I said. But that’s fine.

I don’t think the Archbishop is someone who will die against a dragon. He’s strong. I think his earth element has reached master level as well.

"Veronica, step back!" I shouted.

When I got close to them, I shouted to Veronica to retreat. Because of what we’re prepared. Cooldra’s Ice Breath Attack.

Cooldra shoot his breathe attack. And everything in the line of his breath got frozen solid. The air, the ground, the people, they got frozen. But Veronica retreated before the attack reached her, so she’s fine.

"You’re taking a dragon with you? Not Ray or even Spot?" Veronica asked.

"Is it that weird that I rode another monster other than Ray or Spot? Even Spot asked me why I didn’t ride Ray," I said.

"Well, the only dragon you ever rode was Andro. So, yeah. It’s weird," Veronica said.

I looked at the frozen Archbishop instead of continuing our small talk. Because I know that the Archbishop survived. Cooldra’s attack is so weak compared to the Archbishop. And I think he also trained his body. So he’s not just strong from his level.

The Archbishop easily destroyed the ice with just his body. Though for other trapped mages, they had some problem with it. Except for those with decent level at their fire element or ice element.

"Seems like that didn’t do much to them. Cooldra, how good are you in a melee fight? I asked Cooldra.

"At least my strength is comparable to Crabbe. But my skill and technique are far short from even the weretigers," Cooldra said.

For him to notice that not long after joining the village, I guess he’s quite smart and wise.

"That’s fine. Your breath attack might not kill them, but you can still kill them with your body. Use your breath attack only when it’s necessary," I said.

"I understand!"

Cooldra then landed on the ground with his two hind legs. Then he swung his claws to the enemies nearby while also moving his wings on his back to keep the enemies away from his blind spot.

He’s great. But he just lack the experience in a war. But that won’t be a problem for long.

"Even if you have a dragon with you, you won’t be able to stop us! Many of us should have reached the capital of Varadis by now. And there’s nothing you can do other than watch the city destroyed!" the Archbishop shouted.

But the people should have been evacuated already. I don’t have to worry about them. They are old man Henry’s problem.

The only thing I’m worried right now is that the barrier’s duration in the valley should be over now. There are a thousand master level mages inside that barrier. Even if we send the most elite mages to that side, it doesn’t mean that I won’t be worried.

I hope everyone is okay until I finish with my business here.
