The Only Aura User In Magic World

Chapter 903: Reaction Time: The End of My Past

Chapter 903: Reaction Time: The End of My Past

We’re on a break as we discussed things right after the illusion reached the time when I finally got the power to use Aura.

And I have to say that my mood is getting worse. Because we just discussed about why I got picked to return back to the past. And everyone thought that there are a lot of disadvantage at picking me to return back to the past than if Javier picked someone else.

I’d rather be cringing over my past than listening at them saying bad things about me returning back to the past.

Okay, I got it. They want someone super strong with super memory and extremely dependable to be the one returned back to the past. But instead, they got someone who was lucky enough to learn Aura, make the Black Slime as his familiar, and willing to ask for help.

Isn’t that fine? That’s much better, right?

I mean, who else can easily throw away their pride and ask for help? Someone super strong will have too much pride to ask for help. Because that means that they have to admit that they are not strong enough.

As for super smart, others will just think that they’re annoying. Not only they asked for help, they would give order left and right and not allow anyone to disobey them.

So a normal guy who is willing to lower his head and ask for help would be the best, right? And that man hates the cult to the bone. So he would prefer to roll his body on the mud to ask for help rather than thinking that he can do everything on his own.

And it’s even better when that man lets the people he asked for help to figure out what’s best to do in this war. So there should only be advantage in getting me to return back to the past.

I think they only did this to insult me. I feel like I’m about to cry for I don’t know how many times it makes in just the last few hours.

Big brother, help me! Albert is the only one who should be able to figure it out since he’s the one who has thought of it the longest. That I’m the best choice to return to the past!

I know that he’s a human and not my familiar. But I hope this telepathic message will go through.

"Enough talking bad about my brother. He has his flaws. A lot of them. But that doesn’t mean that Javier’s choice to return him to the past was wrong. After all, we all only gathered here because of Roy. My guess is that Javier picked Roy to return back to the past because of Victoria. He made it so Victoria would be the main personality of the Black Slime. So, after knowing that Roy can learn Aura, he asked about his potential. Which ended up with him as our strongest force. So let’s just ignore Roy and say our gratitude to Victoria instead," Albert said.

""""Thank you, Victoria!""""

"Ehehe... You’re welcome!" Victoria said.

What about me?! Why did it turn into saying gratitude to Victoria?!

I mean, it’s right that it’s all thanks to her that I became the strongest one here. Thanks to her knowledge about Aura, how to utilize air magic, and her little bit of knowledge about summoners in the past, I became the strongest. But why don’t they thanked me?!

Whatever. It’s not like it’s important anyway. Their gratitude won’t mean anything if we can’t destroy the cult.

...I thought as my fragile heart is breaking.

Let’s just forget about it.

Alright, I’m fine now! And the illusion finally continued again after a long break this time.

I left the village after teaching some potential students and enter an adventurer guild.

I don’t remember everything. But I do remember how everyone kept underestimating me and even bullied me. I kept wondering why those people bullied me when we were all together for the same purpose.

Though in the end, I found out that it was all because those people were hoping that they could end up with Angela. Unfortunately for them, in the end, at least until I died, Angela was never with anyone. Or at least it wasn’t made public.

I never heard of her being close with anyone. And I don’t want to. She’s mine now.

So, watching my past being surrounded by strong hunters, at least at that time, I can be cocky. They were all aiming for Angela. But not only they are much weaker than I am now, Angela is mine.

At least this is one of the good things that happened while we were watching my past.

"They might be weak, but most of them still ended up becoming B-rank hunters. And some even ended up reaching advanced level mages. They might be much younger now, but we could try to recruit them. With advanced knowledge from the future and the past, they could be much stronger than in the past life," Albert said.

Though if they ended up joining us because of my girls, then I will kill them. But that won’t happen I hope.

Although Albert said that we have knowledge from the future, my memory about that knowledge is terrible because I mainly focused on medical research. But it’s good that we learned everything I have forgotten now..

...Except that we don’t need that knowledge anymore. What everyone have is already much more advanced than that time.

I saw a lot of people in their 30s or 40s fighting against the cult. So right now they might be around the same age as I am. Or maybe younger. Though for those younger people, the kings have sent many secret agents to infiltrate school so they can be recruited right away and to shoo away the recruiter from the cult.

’We can make you stronger as long as you help us! And we won’t put explosive device in your mouth so you won’t have to risk your life!’ is not something we can say to recruit them. Though we have other ways to do so

Then the illusion continued with me entering the battlefield and slowly became recognized by other hunters. I also saw Angela again. Though we didn’t talk at all.

Angela lost someone she was close with in my past life. At least that’s what I remembered. It wasn’t seen in my past. Just rumors about it were going around.

But in this life, I made it so Angela has never met that someone she’s close with. Maybe we can just recruit that person. But I guess it’s impossible since we know nothing about that person.

And so, we watched my gallant form and killing the enemies before finally, I died.

I was weak. Thinking that after I became stronger a bit, I can do anything. But that’s wrong. Because I died.

And the illusion was paused.

"...At least your past has moral value. To not be overconfident," Albert said.

"That’s what I want to avoid no matter what at this life. Though I did have many moments when I became overconfident, it’s all fine because I didn’t die. Well, I’ll try to not be like that again," I said.

Being confident is okay. Being overconfident is not.

It’s fine to say to the enemy, ’I can kill you.’ But it’s not fine if you’re not thinking of how to do it, what to do after that, and other things to avoid being killed yourself.

"Anyway, that’s Roy’s past life. Next is after he’s dead. You saw what happened. Right after his death, your vision was covered with black thing. That’s Javier who regained his consciousness after Roy died and forcefully make Roy’s brain keep functioning even though he’s dead. Though because Roy doesn’t have any senses because it’s just his brain, you won’t see anything until the world was almost got destroyed," Shirley explained.

We know that the Black Slime, has the ability to forcefully keep human’s organs keep functioning even without food or water. Though they ended up being recognized as monsters. Not by humans, but by a type of plant.

So, Javier forcefully kept my brain functioning so he can send me back to the past in case something happened. And something did happened.

My guess is that he was not only watching the situation, but also looking for someone better to return back to the past. But he didn’t find anyone, so it could only be me.

With the help of the Spirit King, although it wasn’t shown or heard in the illusion because it’s best to keep as secret, they swapped my brain that Javier kept to the brain in my past life. While also making Victoria able to teach me many things by making her the Black Slime’s main personality even if it means Javier and the others’ consciousnesses disappearance.

This is truly the only chance we have left to protect the world.

Then the illusion returned to the time of my awakening ceremony. There’s nothing important for me to know, but we just watch to see if there’s anything we could find. Either more people to recruit, investigate, or just kill.

And finally, we have finished watching my past. For the second time for Victoria, Shirley, and the Spirit King.

And we’re back to discussion.
