Chapter 1160: Promotional Exam
Chapter 1160: Promotional Exam
There shouldn’t be any need for discussion. So it’s all up to the Big Boss to tell me what to do.
"Well, first of all, I would like to apologize to you because someone among us disrespected you. But you did manage to come here in less than three days so there shouldn’t be any harm," the Big Boss said.
Sure, whatever. I don’t care as long as it’s not an inconvenience for me. I don’t care if it harming the guild or not. I just do it because I need people to spread my fame so the cult will target me more.
Maybe I should leave Cassau and build a house for us somewhere in the middle of nowhere. This way, people in Cassau don’t have to evacuate.
For that, Kayla and the others already thought of it. They have built a similar building to the one in the city in the Monsters World that Angela destroyed. A huge and tall building that can shelter hundreds of people or more.
I think it’s around an empty area in Tatrama. So in the end, we will still bait the cult to attack Tatrama.
By the way, Albert also said that the soldiers who are free can stay there and live with their family. So it will be a city full of master level mages and their family.
Well, I don’t think it has been finished yet. So it should be a while until then.
"And so, about the promotional exam. We usually never have it. In fact, according to your achievement, you should be S-rank already. But since you don’t want to be manipulated by someone, we will just give you some quests you have to finish to be S-rank. This is also our chance to get rid of monsters that have been causing us trouble all over the continent," the Big Boss said.
So in the end, I still have to take the promotional exam? That’s fine. I don’t mind.
"Sure, I don’t mind. I’m just here mainly to tell you that I won’t be your pawn. But if it’s something I have to do to reach S-rank, I can handle it easily. So, what should I do?" I asked.
"The rule is simple. Just finish the quests and you will reach S-rank," the Big Boss said.
"Can I ask the members of my clan to help me?" I asked.
"Because you are the leader of a clan, you can. But you have to at least finish several of them by yourself," he said.
"What about my familiars? I’m a summoner. So my familiars’ achievement should be mine, right?"
I have two S-rank hunters as my familiars. So their achievement should be my achievement.
"I guess it works. But you will have to take care of a lot of quests in exchange for that," he said.
My guess is that he hates that I have so much power so he tries to make it harder for me to do much. So the quests must be much more than the members of my clan that I brought here.
Well, isn’t that fine?
There’s also a chance that the Big Boss of the hunter guild is actually helping me by letting me show my force so there won’t be anyone else trying to manipulate me. The only thing they can do if they have troubles would be to request my clan formally to do something.
"Someone, bring ’that’ to me," the Big Boss said.
"You mean..."
"All of them."
With my Divine Vision, I can see where the other guy was going. He’s going to a storeroom where a lot of documents were recorded. Then he grabbed box filled with papers. Those papers are quests that haven’t been cleared for years. Maybe they are more difficult than the quests in guild with no rank limitation.
The guy returned and put the box on the table. Then he opened it and took out the huge stack of paper from there.
"Here are all the quests we want you to take. There’s no time limit. You can take as much time as needed," the Big Boss said.
Hearing that, everyone from the guild smiled. Including the guy who disrespected me by telling me to come here when he wasn’t even here if I don’t force him to come.
Did they all forget how I brought everyone here?
But I have prepared. I have an entire kingdom of monsters to help me.
"Give them to me," I said.
Then I transformed Victoria’s clones into a chair and a desk before opening a portal to Monsters Kingdom.
"My King, what do you need me for?"
The one coming out first was Red. The smartest werewolf that I can rely on.
"Read these quests and delegate anyone to take them. Let’s finish them all by today," I said as I threw the stack of papers to him.
I also have Kayla who is smart and Penny who can handle management as well. But I’ll rely on Red for this.
Of course the people from the guild were curious that I have another werewolf here. But I don’t care about them.
"A lot of them are subjugation quests," Red said.
"I’ll take them!" Kron said proudly.
"No. We can let the monsters handle them. If it’s just monsters, we can handle them. But there are some quests that need you to meet someone. We can’t have the monsters do that. That will be your turn," Red said.
As expected of the smartest monster from my kingdom. As soon as I told him everything, he understood his task.
He read all the papers quickly before organizing them. He might be focused on management now but he’s still a werewolf. I heard that he fought in the Arena once in a while. So he’s already stronger than average werewolf. Even though in the kingdom, he might be the weakest werewolf.
Red looked at the portal that still open to Monsters Kingdom. Then he gave the order.
"Two werewolves come here!" Red said.
Then two werewolves entered the portal and come here.
"Here’s your job. Eliminate the Orc’s nest there. My King..."
Red then looked at me and I understand his intention. Obviously, it will take time to travel there. But with my portal, it won’t be long.
So I opened a portal to a city in Arturo closest to the destination.
"There should be an Orc’s nest north of there. Find it, and kill all the monsters there. There should be at least an Orc Emperor. Don’t forget to bring back its fang as proof of subjugation. If there are other stronger monsters, defeat them and bring their proof of subjugation as well," Red said.
"Orc’s nest, huh? I feel nostalgic," Kron said.
That’s our first mission together. We had some trouble at that time but now, we can simply send two werewolves to destroy an entire Orc’s nest.
"Why is no one destroying it? I doubt it will be anything hard, right?" I asked.
"There’s no resource anyone can get from there. So there are too much cons in attacking that place. But now that it’s too late, the nest has grown bigger and no hunters can handle them. Though the orcs there never attack any villages or cities," Red said. That’s in the document he read.
I should just read them as well instead of asking.
"Next is Cooldra. There’s a subjugation mission you can take in a snowy mountain," Red said.
Then Cooldra entered the portal and come here. Shocking everyone present again.
"Snowy Mountain? I like that," Cooldra said.
Then I opened another portal to a place closest to the destination and send Cooldra there. It’s cold when I opened the portal.
"The next one is the sea. My King, can I ask Crabbe to do it," Red asked.
"Do as you wish," I said.
Since he asked for Crabbe, I guess the subjugation target could be a bit stronger than other Crab People. So we send Crabbe to the location.
"Next would be a sighting of a floating island. There are monsters there and we need to defeat them all. Let’s get the angels there," Red said.
Then we keep sending monsters to the destination. And by the tenth quest, Cooldra contact me saying that he’s done with his job. So I opened a portal there.
"Good job. So, where’s the proof of subjugation?" I asked.
"It’s the fang of this lizard. I’m too big to do it so I just removed its head," Cooldra said as he threw the severed head of the lizard through the portal.
Then I catch it and remove the fang right in front of everyone.
"That’s one down. Oh, Crabbe is done as well," I said.
Then I returned Crabbe here before Red sends some more monsters away. And Shelia wanted to fight as well so Red picked a rather difficult quest for her and I transported her away.
I guess we really can handle most of them by the end of today. And the people from the guild didn’t expect this at all. They must still be underestimating my power and my force. Or that they are curious why Red is calling me as his king. Maybe everything.
