Chapter 1147: Dragon Subjugation Quest
Chapter 1147: Dragon Subjugation Quest
"Then I’m going to his office directly," I said.
"Ah, wait!"
The receptionist tried to stop me. But there’s no way she’s strong enough to do that. Then there are some other staffs and even some hunters trying to stop me. But I just drag them with me.
As I get closer to his office, the guild master woke up. He can sense me coming. Well, with so many people dragging me, it’s obvious that he can sense it. Especially if he’s at least an expert level mage.
The guild master opened the door and sees us.
"...Let him in," he said.
He might have a bed in his office. But he’s not lazy. He’s working really great in fact that he lacked sleep. That’s why there’s a bed there.
I can see from all the papers in his office. He’s working really hard. Maybe there are just way too many monsters here so the guild is always busy.
I entered the office with the receptionist from before who looks angry. She’s serving us coffee.
There’s only coffee. No tea here.
"So, what do you want?" he asked.
"I want to take a quest without rank limitation," I said.
"Are you sure you can handle it?" he asked me again.
"If I can’t then there’s no one else who can," I said.
"...You’re not Angela. What makes you think you can achieve what she achieved? You must be thinking that because she can do it, other people can do it as well. Dream on. She’s special. Unfortunately, she just never came here," he said.
Angela? He’s talking about my Angela all of a sudden?
Well, it’s normal because Angela and everyone else from Cassau often go out and take difficult missions from whatever city they’re in. So their fame is heard throughout the continent. And many people look up to them.
And that’s probably the reason why some people decided to take difficult quests without thinking about the consequences. Thinking that they can be as good as Angela or the others. But they ended up dying.
That’s why there are no such quests anymore in the board. I didn’t thought of that when I was taking quests in other places before. Simply because I didn’t care.
But now I know why they hide such difficult quests from public. So that no one would risk their lives stupidly.
And I replied simply by taking out my hunter card and showed it to him.
"Roy. C-rank hunter is it. I don’t think—"
"Check the clan," I said.
For us who are in the clan, there’s an additional data added in our hunter cards. And that is the clan we joined.
"Wolf’s Crown?!"
"And I’m the leader of that clan. Angela is under me and for years, she was weaker than me. I don’t know about the present day though since she has grown extraordinarily strong now. So, now that you know, give me the quest," I said.
"Ah, right! Hey, bring that one to me!" the guild leader said to the shocked receptionist. And the receptionist girl rushed downstairs to get the quests he mentioned.
And now the guild leader became way too polite towards me. I don’t like it. Get here sooner, receptionist girl.
"I bring it here!"
"Alright. Here is your quest. A dragon appeared and nested in the desert. And once in a while, he would come to the nearby villages or even cities to attack randomly. He has been sighted for about five years already. But no one strong enough to face him. He’s the most dangerous one because he would attack villages and the most urgent quest that we need someone to clear as soon as possible. So if it’s possible—"
Before he finishes speaking, I grabbed the quest paper from him and read it myself. So it’s just a dragon. A sand dragon? And it lives in the desert.
I don’t think it will be difficult. I’ll take this one for now. There are other difficult quests I can take. But I still need to prove myself first.
"I’ll take this one. I’ll be done with it in thirty minutes. So prepare other quests for me," I said.
"Thirty minutes?! The nest is a few days away even by flying!" the guild master said.
"And I’m faster than wind mages. You only know about expert level wind mages after all. Don’t forget that all the members of my clan are... monsters. Yeah, that’s the simplest way to explain them. I’ll be going now," I said.
Then I left the guild. The guild master told the receptionist to treat me like a VIP so she accompanied me outside.
And as soon as I stepped outside, I summoned Ray.
"Ray, let’s go."
With the face of the shocked receptionist bidding me farewell, we fly to the sky at a high speed.
"First we should look where the nest is. Victoria, are you sure you don’t want to fight on your own?" I asked.
"I won’t do it. I don’t think there’s anything that can help me stronger than I am now. I’m busy thinking of a way to get stronger," Victoria said.
"If that’s what you want. I won’t bother you anymore then."
She will be busy. But I’m pretty sure she will be fine.
Her brain doesn’t only contain about her fantasies between men. It also consists of various knowledge that if she just thinks a bit hard, she might be able to do it.
Sure that some of them might be out of common sense. But it was if it’s from her original world. This is a world of magic. And she’s now a slime that can transform to anything she wants. She will find a way to get stronger thanks to the fiction she reads from her world.
Now I’ll just focus on the search of the dragon.
From the report, the dragon has the same color as the sand in the desert. So it’s hard to find because of his camouflaging ability. But that won’t be a trouble for me with my Divine Vision.
There’s also one other important thing that I want. If possible, I want that dragon to join my kingdom. Though if this one can’t be communicated with, then there’s no need to do that at all.
With Ray’s speed, it took us only ten minutes until we find the dragon hiding under the sand. And I jumped from Ray’s back and land on the desert.
There were traces of dead people. Bones in the sand that belong to probably dead hunters who tried to challenge the dragon.
As soon as I landed, the dragon that was sleeping wakes up. And he stood up after his slumber was disturbed.
"Hello! If you can understand me, then speak to me!" I said.
"ROAAAAAAAAAR!!!!"
"I’ll take it that you can’t understand my words."
Then I shall kill it. It’s simple.
The dragon swings his claws at me. But I didn’t even move at all. I blocked it with my Aura while standing still.
Then I severed his arms without moving at all from the spot. And before the dragon even noticed that he was hurt, I jumped and slashed his neck. Cutting his head from his body.
"Oh, wait. What should we bring as the proof of subjugation again? Was it the fang?" I asked myself.
Maybe it is. I forget to check it. It should be something like that. What else can be used as proof for it?
When I was about to dismantle the body, hoping that there might be something useful that I can take, I can see something from afar approaching me.
They are also dragons. The same type of dragon as the one I just killed.
They are flying toward me and surround me in circle. Only about twelve of them.
They are much weaker than the dragons in my kingdom that are smaller than them. But I’ll try talking to them if possible.
"Hello. Is there anyone among you that I can talk with?" I asked.
"""ROAAAAAAR!!!"""
"Damn, that’s loud. I want to speak with the manager!"
That’s what Victoria often says jokingly. So who is the dragon manager?
No one. They are just wild dragons that can’t speak. There’s no need to bring them to my kingdom then.
More importantly, should I wait until more dragons appear or should I just kill all of them already? The desert is vast. There might be other dragons out there.
But even though they can’t communicate, they should be smart enough to know that there’s someone they can’t win against here if I kill everyone here. I guess I don’t need to wait for the rest of them to come.
Then I will kill everyone. I will take their fangs as proof of subjugation. As for their body, I think I’ll take three of them somewhere and see if there are any parts of their body that can be sold or used as material for the Blacksmith or Marie.
The rest of the corpses? I’ll leave them here so if there are any other dragons here, they know not to get closer to the city.
