Chapter 1146: I Should Take Some Quests
Chapter 1146: I Should Take Some Quests
I spend my time being a living target in shooting practice. It’s interesting to see someone shooting lightning bullet or someone who used his head so instead just shooting, he also tried to restraint my movement by locking my feel on the ground with earth magic.
That’s smart. Because in real battle, you can’t always rely on your gun. Using magic to restraint my movement is a good way to fight.
And after that, I became a living target for not only shooting practice for the air mages. But also all the other mages as well. They are shooting all kind of magic to hit me.
So I no longer made weird pose. I started to get more serious in dodging and blocking the attack. This time, there’s no one who can hit me.
This is fun. It’s good to improve my reaction speed as well.
At first, I tried to dodge or block the magic while using Aura. And as soon as I feel that I don’t need to use that much power anymore, I only rely on my body without using Aura at all to dodge them all. Only when there’s an attack I can’t dodge will I start using Aura to parry them.
And that’s how I spend my days. Well, other than killing some people who started coming to Cassau to cause trouble. There were some people like that.
Some tried to spy on me. I don’t want to let them be so I just kill them. Whoever it is hiring someone to spy on me, I don’t care. I’m higher than the Kings in this continent.
There are also some attacks targeting other places. But I don’t even need to go there. I can just send someone.
And even if I don’t send someone, I think the soldiers there already strong enough to face several master level mages. Our master level mages are getting stronger and stronger even without having to level up anymore.
The main cause is probably because of Angela. Sure she became stronger because of all her four elements. But seeing her that strong, everyone is more determined to be stronger. That’s why even now, they are busy training to get stronger.
It’s good. Thanks to the cult, we don’t have to worry about our master level mages trying to rebel against their kingdoms. All our anger and rage are focused on the cult because of them.
If it’s in a peaceful era, I doubt that the Kings will allow their people to be that strong. They can’t handle people who are that strong.
That’s the only good thing about the cult, I guess. Though we have a lot of master level mages now. And everyone will have hundreds of years of life expectancy. Who knows if someone is planning for rebellion in the future?
Even if they do, I doubt they will do anything to me. Because if I can survive after the cult is gone, there won’t be anyone else who is stronger than me. I hope so.
The day for the banquet is getting closer. The banquet to introduce me to the world. But it’s not important. I’ll just go there, let them know who I am, and then eat as much as I like.
If Albert and Shirley said that I’m actually their half-brother, then I guess taking care of the nobles will be easier. Though I will still not be part of their royalty. Even if I’m a royalty, it’s because I’m the King of the Monsters. Not because I’m their half-brother.
For today, I’ll take it easy. Though Sunglasses called me soon after.
"Roy, are you free?" Sunglasses asked.
"It depends. If you’re asking me for something troublesome, I might be busy right now," I said.
"It’s not troublesome. I’m here to tell you that you should probably go around the entire continent and clear difficult quests from the guild. This way, your hunter rank will increase. And people will recognize you more. More importantly, with how fast you move to another country when it’s normally should take days, weeks, or months, it will take you only seconds to move. This will help people learn how useful a summoner is. More than expected. It will be great to show this to all summoners and make them interested in learning about it," Sunglasses said.
So I just need to go all over the continent and clear quests. That’s easy.
"Alright. That doesn’t sound hard. I’ll do it now. Should I take a quest from here first or should I go far away right from the start?" I asked Sunglasses.
"Whatever you want. Just take care of the quests that the guild have requested for so long and no one has cleared them yet," Sunglasses said.
That shouldn’t be hard.
There might be a lot of master level mages now. Some of them are agents who act as hunters in their everyday lives. So they might have taken those requests. But I doubt they have taken all difficult missions. They are originally soldiers and agents after all. So they must be clearing quests that will probably cause trouble to the city or the country if it’s not cleared right away.
Though for the difficult missions here, I bet the guild master already gave them to my clan and someone must have cleared them. But just in case, I’ll go and check it.
So I asked the real person in charge of my clan. Penny.
"Penny, is there any difficult mission that no one ever take?" I asked.
"All of them should be delivered to our guild by the guild master. So I doubt there’s any more such quest since everyone has finished them," Penny said.
As expected. Everyone is brilliant after all. I guess I should take a mission from another place.
I’m sure everyone has left Cassau at least once and go to another city or country to take missions from the guild. But I doubt they do it every day. There should be a mission I can take.
My first destination is Consenza. There are a lot of powerful monsters in the desert area of Consenza. And with how difficult it is to even go there, I doubt there are many who cleared such request.
"That’s why I’m here," I said to Lynn, Claudia, and Celestine after I transported to their palace.
"I think the guild in the cities closer to the desert have a lot of quests like that. You should go there," Claudia said.
"Alright. I’ll be going then," I said.
Then it’s the first time ever I walk openly from the gate of the palace. Many people’s eyes are on me because they still don’t know who I am.
As a clown, I’m great at getting people’s attention. I know what to do even if it’s not for making people laugh.
When everyone’s eyes are on me, I summoned Ray. And I ride him in the street of the capital. No one will stop me. No one can stop me.
I should just go to a random city. I don’t know enough about the terrain and which city is closer to the desert. So I’ll just go with Ray. And my usual partner, Victoria.
"Victoria, you don’t want to fight on your own?" I asked.
"It’s fun. But unlike the others, I can’t get stronger. My strength is limited. So it’s best if you do it. I’ll just do it for fun next time," Victoria said.
I know that she’s feeling down because of it. Even if she can’t get any stronger, no one can deny her greatness. All the knowledge she has from her original world is really helpful for us.
I finally arrived in another city. And I entered through the gate and continue riding Ray until the guard stopped me.
"Hey! You can’t ride a horse here!"
So I jumped down and unsummoned Ray. I continue walking to the guild and check all the quests on the board.
There are some old quests that haven’t been taken, but they are easy ones. I need something harder.
Something more difficult. Oh, I found one.
For a really difficult task, there’s no limit to what your hunter class is. As long as you can take care of it, you might even be able to increase your rank in one go. What’s needed is the proof that you can do it.
That’s what I heard from Penny when I told her what I’m going to do today. She knows more about the guild’s rule than even the guild’s receptionist.
Since there’s no mission I like on the board, I used my Divine Vision to check because I know that the guild must have saved those missions to not endanger hunters who wants to get rich or famous in an instant.
"Excuse me. I’d like to talk to the guild master," I said to the guild receptionist.
The easiest way to do it is to talk with the guild master. Ask him about the quest I can take.
"The guild master is busy today. He’s not here," the receptionist said.
Lie. He’s sleeping in his office. There’s even a bed there. Seems like no one has ever gone to meet the guild master before.
Then I don’t need permission anymore. I’ll just go and meet him directly.
