Chapter 1128: The Kaiser Whale’s Successor

"There’s not much injury. Just exhaustion," Kayla said as she healed both Spot and I.

Water pressure is insane. Maybe I should just open a portal to the bottom of the ocean without a care about what the enemies are thinking. It’s not like they can do much about it anyway. Unless they have master level water mage.

The only master level water mage that I know is Carmen. Fabio’s mother. And she can use water magic really well. Maybe I should ask her to test the power of the water pressure from the bottom of the ocean.

Well, soon it will be Fabio’s wedding. I will go to Arturo often after this. So I can ask Carmen about it at that time.

Now we’re all on the surface of the sea. The Kaiser Whale is now out and we can talk to him now. But the thing is that he’s been staring at Spot all the time.

Above, just slightly higher than the water with his giant legs and tails touching the water, Andro is flying. He’s huge so even if his legs are touching the water, he’s still high above.

On the water, the Kaiser Whale is huge. His head right now is at the same height level as Andro. And they are not looking at each other because they can’t do that with Andro has to fly all the time. So they are moving toward the same direction at the same time. Slightly moving to the right as we move forward so we can swim and fly in circle.

And between them, there’s a huge and long serpent flying. Just to make it easier to talk, I had Spot fly near the two Kaiser Monsters’ face.

Compared to them, Spot is like a single strand of string. He looks so small. And I’m even much smaller.

And on top of Spot’s head, there are three people. Two people and one monster. Pawzer, Kayla, and I. Though obviously, Victoria is with me as well.

Pawzer decided to jump so he can talk between the two Kaiser Monsters.

"So, what do you want to talk?"

The Kaiser Whale finally looked at me. The one who always wanted to speak with the Kaiser Whale from the beginning.

"First, I just want you to listen to our story. The rest can be decided later. We couldn’t talk about it much before because we were busy. I apologize for that. Now we have a lot of time, I will talk to you," I said.

"I might not have a lot of time though," the Kaiser Whale said.

Why is he saying that? I have several guesses for that.

First, he’s already with the cult. But I somehow doubt it.

Second, he’s really busy. There’s something that he has to do right away.

Third, there’s nothing happened. He’s just too lazy.

And lastly, it’s likely because similar to Andro, the Kaiser Whale already has a successor. And since there’s another Kaiser Whale, he won’t live for much longer. But even then, it should still be a few years until he died. Unless his successor has been living for a long time.

"It won’t even take a day. Maybe even just one hour. Please listen to me," I said.

"Sure. Don’t waste my time," he said.

So we talk about everything that we can share. Including about the cult, the Kaiser Tortoise, the village, and many other things.

It’s not just me alone who is telling the story. Andro, Pawzer, Spot, Kayla, and even Victoria shared their story. Making it more convincing.

"So, the Dragon has his successor. The Tortoise protected his successor before he died. The Tortoise is dead. And the Dragon is also dying. Seems like our times are ending. It’s time for the future generation soon," the Kaiser Whale said.

"Does it mean that you already have a successor?" I asked.

"We are different. Our successor was not decided by bloodline. The Dragon had his great grandson born as a Kaiser Dragon. Or should I say hatched? The Tortoise was also the same. But among the three of us, why do you think that I’m the only one whose species doesn’t lay an egg?" the Kaiser Whale asked.

Now that I think about it, he’s right. The dragons lay their eggs. Tortoises lay their eggs. But for whales... whales don’t lay their eggs? I thought they were fish.

So whales are not fish? And like mammals such as cows, horses, or even humans, they gave birth? I didn’t bother to check about animal because I was only thinking about learning more about curing humans than animals.

"Now that I think about it, that’s right. Whales are mammals. But does it mean that you are not the conqueror of the sea or something?" Victoria asked.

"We are different. The sky has dragons. The land has tortoises. But for the sea, the conqueror of the sea is not decided by their race or species. But it’s decided by their strength," the Kaiser Whale said.

So he’s the strongest sea monsters in this ocean. Isn’t that great?

"That makes you the strongest creature in the ocean, right? So what about it?" I asked.

"I don’t know how it happens but I know it instinctively when another monster can endanger my life. And I know that for some reason, I grew weaker and weaker since around a few years ago. It’s most likely because there will be the next conqueror of the sea appearing. And I finally meet that one today," the Kaiser Whale said as he’s looking directly at Spot.

"Wait, me? I’m not even that strong. And I’m a half sky serpent. It doesn’t make sense that I am the conqueror of the sea when I can fly as well," Spot said.

"That just makes you stronger actually," the Whale said.

He’s right. Spot can just swim upward and once he’s out of the water, he can fight against those sea monsters from the sky.

"Does it mean that Spot will be the next Kaiser monster? A Kaiser Serpent?" I asked.

"That’s how it is in the sea. The previous Kaiser monster will get weaker and will somehow find the next successor and raise them. Just like me. The previous conqueror of the sea was a swordfish. She got weaker and found me. She made me stronger before she died and I became the next conqueror of the sea. The current Kaiser monster from the sea. And now, I found the next conqueror of the sea," the Whale said.

Spot is the next Kaiser monster? And it means that the Kaiser Whale will help Spot get stronger?

"So you want to help me get stronger to be the next Kaiser monster? What do you want in exchange?" Spot asked.

"Nothing. I will die soon anyway. For how long you will train under me, it might take hundreds or thousands of years. Or it could be just for a few days. I don’t know," the Whale said.

So when a monster became Kaiser Monster, they will understand things instinctively. Just like how Andro knew that he’s going to die when his great grandson was born.

But it doesn’t make sense since the conquerors of the sea are not always from the same species. How come they understood that?

"Spot, what do you want to do? It’s up to you," I said.

"I can get stronger, right? Does it mean that I have to stay in this world and stay as the Kaiser monster after you die?" Spot asked the Whale.

"I never really thought about leaving. But there’s shouldn’t be any restriction on leaving. You can leave if you want," the Whale said.

"Roy, I really want to continue helping you fighting the cult. But it seems like I won’t be able to help you for a while," Spot said.

Seems like he has decided on it. He’s going to train with the Kaiser Whale.

"That’s fine with me. And if possible, you can bring your children for the training as well. It might not be for them to become the conqueror of the sea. But it should be helpful to get them stronger," I said.

"Wait, you have children? Then it is possible that the feeling when I saw you and thought that my successor has been found is not about you. But it’s about your children. Bring them anyway. I’ll get you all stronger. That human called Roy over there. You’re going to a war, right? I can’t help you much since I will be under the water most of the time. But I can help you by training the serpent family," the Kaiser Whale said.

"That’s great. Thank you for doing that," I said.

Still, it seems like the next Kaiser Monster from the sea will be a Kaiser Serpent. And all of them can fly as well. So they can still help me in the fight even if it’s far from the sea.

"By the way, is there any duty that all Kaiser Monster has to do? Because if not, then there’s really no need for any Kaiser Monster at all," I said.

"We just need to exist. All living being need to learn fear. Even just by existing, other monsters will be afraid of you."

The answer came from Andro. Which was funny.

"You think having an entire ecosystem on your back is putting fear inside monsters? Well, whatever. It just means that the Kaiser Monsters are the strongest of their species. I’ll just think about it like that," I said.

One is staying underwater most of the time. One got an entire ecosystem created on his back. And one got experimented on by humans.

I don’t think it’s to put fear into all creatures. But whatever the case, it seems like Spot and his children won’t be available for a while.

Well, they will get stronger in the future. So I think it’s fine.
