Chapter 1117: Observing While Hiding

Being a giant woman as a disguise is difficult to not gain attention. Just by being a woman is already gain a lot of attention whether you are plain, ugly, or beautiful. So I have to change my disguise.

I didn’t pretend that I lived in the building I’m in. Instead, I pretend that I’m a resident from another building that got destroyed. And the residents here don’t care at all about that.

But just like that, and I become a resident here. Though I’m still wearing disguise. Just not as Roy and not as my other disguise as Robby.

I don’t have a name yet. I’ll think about it when someone asks me. As for my disguise, I use Blobbies as fake beard and a wig. Just in case, I added a little mole as an extra near my nose. Not big enough to gain people’s attention at first glance, but it’s still visible to see.

Everyone is busy. Some are still actually thinking that the Aura user is still here somewhere in hiding. Some thought that the Aura user already left.

Well, they won’t find me. I hope.

I can’t really do anything here though other than observing from a room in the building. I picked a room in the lower floor so I can see people in the street easier.

I might be a master level mage. But I’m a summoner. So I can’t really go out there and pretend that I’m one of the cult members. Because I’m sure there’s a different treatment that they give to the summoners here. And I’m someone they have never seen before.

My air magic, only people from the alliance can actually use air magic in battle. It will be suspicious if they find me using air magic.

What if I pretend to be one of the warriors wearing the Etherstone armor? I’m pretty sure it will be hard. There are not many of them. So someone surely recognized everyone’s face.

That’s why I had no choice but to observe everything from this place.

I used thirty minutes after coming to this room to close my eyes. I didn’t sleep. Just closing my eyes and not doing anything. That’s enough for me to recover a bit of my stamina.

After that, I just observed my surrounding. Many people are busy with the aftermath. They say that someone will fix the building later. They’re still busy fixing other buildings.

I’m looking for powerful mages. So far, they haven’t shown themselves. But maybe it’s because those strong ones are not here. They are somewhere else.

I have recovered enough so if I have to come out and fight again, I can do that. But I need to get a fixed target first. I can’t just continue randomly killing people.

My targets are still the same. Summoners and powerful mages.

I can’t find them yet. They haven’t shown their magic and if it’s a powerful mage beyond the stage of master level, I think they can still sense it when I’m looking at them even though I’m trying to hide my presence as much as possible. But so far, there’s no one who felt that they were being watched.

Too many buildings. Too many people. But at least I know some other place I have to check.

Those are the buildings with people guarding them while other people were chasing me. They didn’t bother to chase after me. They just stood near the building they are protecting and prepared to fight when I got closer.

What are those buildings? Is that where they put all the children who were born in this place and raise them?

I tried looking there before when I was being chased. But I can’t learn much about them since I was busy. Not that I have the time, I’ll check inside those buildings again.

...Most of them are churches. With believers gathering together and someone teaching them about the cult’s teaching.

This place probably very much different than whatever they have on Earth. Because everyone here is a loyal believer. They have faith that can’t be broken. Unlike some from Earth who can still change, this is their entire lifetime.

Unlike Celestine, Veronica, and some other former cult members who ended up joining us or quitting fighting altogether, the people here seems to not have any intention of letting go of their believe. Because of that, churches are the most important place for them. But I don’t think that’s an important place for me to know. Though if I destroy them, I can gain so much attention. I’ll mark them just in case.

But not all of them are churches. Some of them seem to be important facilities.

After my infiltration to the city, the people inside those facilities seem to be busier trying to grab all important stuffs and gather them in one place. Seems like they have the intention to move to a safer place to conduct more experiment.

There are no children. Most of the experiment there are with adults. Children are in another place I think. Not this city because I couldn’t even find any at all after running around in the city.

This is a huge city created by the cult. The base of the cult. But again, this is not their main base.

But this should be at the other side of the island. So far that I don’t think a week riding Ray will be enough for me to get here.

But if I have a transfer point to this place, then we can start searching more about the cult from this side of the planet.

The people in the facility also doing experiment on monsters. Still, just with the population of this city alone, they’re enough to destroy our entire continent if I didn’t do anything. But what makes them wait for so long? For the return of their Evil God?

I’m thinking again of how lucky we were so far with how the cult hasn’t used their full strength yet. But seriously, is there any reason for all of this?

I don’t know. What matters is the present. And I’m thinking of destroying those important research facilities later. I don’t know what experiment and research they are doing but that’s not important. What’s important is that the cult is the source of my trauma and I have to destroy them for my own peace.

I’ll take a rest for two more hours before attacking them again. I’ll just take a peek at the outside situation with my Divine Vision once in a while.

’Roy, how are you doing?’

And while resting, Victoria contacted me. I’ll pass the time talking with her.

’Fine. I’m resting in one of their building that I half destroyed. Most of them thought that the Aura user has left. How about over there?’ I asked her back.

’Maybe because they can’t bring more reinforcement, they are being more careful. They got no contact after you entered there. So they have to protect the summoners or the familiars at the cost of their lives no matter what. Since we can’t have casualties, we had to retreat when they tried to sacrifice their lives,’ Victoria said.

’That’s good. What about monsters attacking Angela?’

’It’s all fine. No one can get closer to her at all. Oh, right. Albert called me. He said that it’s stupid of you to do that and to tell you that you have to survive no matter what.’

I guess he gave up contacting me anymore since it would put me in danger if my phone keep receiving signal. And they gave up on bringing me back. That’s good.

’I’m resting for a while now and will attack them later. Can I continue to rely on you to protect Angela?’

’Sure. And I will rely on you to continue creating troubles over there so no one else will come here,’ Victoria said.

’I’ll take care of it. But that might be the only way for me to catch their summoners. So some will still be able to go over to that side. Just be careful.’

After that, I chatted with Victoria until I feel that I have rested enough. Now it’s time to move.

My hiding place is a good place. I don’t want to destroy it since I also have put Blobbies there for me to return here next time. So I have to sneak out of this building and start creating trouble from another place.

Still with my wig and fake beard on, I jumped out of the window of the room. The window is the main way of the mages here to enter their place. Since most of them here are master level mages, even if they can’t fly, their jumping power are enough for them to reach the window of their room.

Then I guess I can deduct that those who lives in the higher floors are wind mages who can fly. The rest would stay near the ground.

After walking around for about five minutes, I think I’m already quite far from my hiding place. It’s time for the second attack.
